New from the people who brought you the Nike Hyper Elite Platinum jersey comes the Nike Hyper Elite Road jersey. Similar to last year against Tennessee the Cats will be donning new duds when they head down to Gainesville to take on the Gators in a few weeks. According to the Nike release:
A logo inspired by each team’s home court appears on the jersey’s center chest, a piece of “home away from home” to wear with pride. The back nameplate also features iconic references to the team’s mascot and home crowd.
So the above jersey belongs to Gonzaga so they clearly have a big Bulldog. The question now remains what do you hope will appear on the front of the Cat’s new uniform. You can never go wrong with the current UK logo they use today but I’m kind of partial to the old school leaping Wildcat.
Any one of those would look pretty awesome on the front of a jersey but what do you think? Should they just leave the jerseys alone? After those replica jackets sold like hotcakes last year I don’t think this trend will be ending anytime soon.

That one for ’89 looks like the “sanitized” version that was done years later. There was nothing whatsoever wrong with the original. The only thing wrong was a housewife’s dirty mind.

The press release says inspired by the team’s home court, so if they stay to that (as they did with Gonzaga) it will be the interlocked UK – too bad no Cat.

In an age of technology and graphic, it seems like we could come up with something a little cooler and fearsome.
But at least our mascot actually should have teeth. Some schools have mascots with teeth, like a bird. Well, except for Saturday. That bird had no teeth.

I’m pretty sure the prototype you showed above is the current Gonzaga jersey….or at least I’m pretty sure I saw them wear it earlier at some point. Anyways….I would just go with the word RUPP across the chest, if we’re trying to show home court pride. I’m not really sure what that means though. Home court pride = RUPP. Team pride equals the UK Cat twirling the ball and leaning on a wall. Those jerseys would be da bomb.

What’s needed is a big outline of the state of Kentucky, since UK is the school and team for the whole state, as Calipari likes to point out. You could have just the state, or a wildcat face within the state, but, make sure the message is KENTUCKY.

The best UK logo ever was the one they had on the football helmet in the 1960′s… it was an outline of the state of ky with a wildcat over top of it. Wesley Woodyard wore it at the 2008 senior bowl.

If I had to go with one of those, it would definitely be the color bersionof the ’89 logo. I’d rather see them do something like a Cats Claw ripping its way out of the chest. I’ve seen some tats like that and they were badass, but I can’t find any pictures of them now.

I grew up with the second wildcat logo. Also, prior to Cloff Hagqn as AD the UK blue was a navy blue not this lighter color. Let’s go back to before Cloff Hagan was AD!

I think the two from the 1960′s would be cool. But I would put the design with jersey and see which any 5 or 6 looks best…I also think 59 picture of the state of Kentucky with a cat is cool.
