Announcing my decision February 6th on ESPNU at 12:30pm! #SigningDay #2013 #Blessed
— Asiantii Woulard (@AW_QB2) January 20, 2013
The #1 dual-threat quarterback according to ESPN, who visited Kentucky last weekend and went to Clemson this weekend, is set to announce his college decision on February 6th, aired on ESPNU. Formerly committed to USF, Woulard won MVP of the Elite 11 Quarterback Camp and enjoyed an in-home visit from new UK OC Neal Brown on Monday. Woulard is scheduled to visit UCLA next weekend. He also looks damn good in a UK jersey.

Hopefully we still are hanging in there since he didn’t end it this wkend like pops said he might…STOOPS TROOPS!!…GOCATS!!!
January 20th, 2013 at 11:16 am
Get this kid! Landing him will cause a rise for UK in recruiting.
January 20th, 2013 at 11:16 am
So does his dad want him to go to Clemson????
January 20th, 2013 at 11:23 am
i tried to read the lhl online this am and was informed that i now must pay a fee to do so. good luck with that

Exhibit A why we have black jerseys.
January 20th, 2013 at 11:32 am
Would he be used as a QB at Clemson, with the QBS they have.
The thing about UK is that he will be competing with Max Smith (Achillies Injury), Pat Towels, and Woulard. There is definitely the room.
January 20th, 2013 at 11:32 am
This would be a huge get for stoops and wouldprobably bring 2-3 big names with him. But im afraid he will sign with clemson or florida. But we are the set next 3 years. Maxwell already was border line top 3-5 QB in the sec. Add more weapons and neal brown and he will be a stud. My only concern is keeping him protected.
January 20th, 2013 at 11:45 am
#8 Oh c’mon. Maxwell Smith top 3-5 QB in the SEC? hmm, Manziell, McCarron, Murray, Jordan Rodgers, Tyler Bray, Tyler Wilson, Tyler Russell, James Franklin would argue. And that’s just off the top of my head. There are probably 10 SEC QB’s with higher QB ratings from last year (which would not exempt Smith due to his shortened season). You could say that he doesn’t have the weapons the other SEC teams have, but that’s the hand he’s dealt. He was the starting QB vs. WKU and we lost. Smith will probably be the UK starter next year, based on experience, but let’s not kid ourselves that he’s in the class of top 5 in the SEC. More like #11-14.

I have a feeling he will go to Clemson and learn for 1 year under the guidance of Taj Boyd, similar game, no brainer!
January 20th, 2013 at 11:58 am
#10 you are 100% correct. No chance he comes here. He will go to Clemson and sit behind Boyd for one year then step in they have no heir apparent qb to Boyd. If he comes here he has to compete for the job. Yes he could potentially start right away but it is also possible he won’t get to start till 2 to 3 years down the road.

Watch out for Jeff Badet, him and Woulard are good friends and were committed to USF together. I’ve heard some rumblings that Badet may commit to UK after he just left from his visit this weekend, and if UK were to pull him, the chances of getting Woulard would go up a ton. Plus Clemson just picked up another WR, the position that Badet plays
January 20th, 2013 at 12:27 pm
It seems he was being escorted around by Taj Boyd and Ky Priester (the likely wr commit) while at Clemson, according to his tweets. Not to mention Clemson had two backup QBs with knee injuries last year and they certainly appear to have a leg up. Realistically he has very little chance of playing at either school his freshman year.
The key play here is SEC or ACC. Brown and Stoops have their work cut out for them.

What are our chances here, really? Would be a GREAT get. Think we could use him like Randall, or is he more specialized and less of an ATH? Would it be a waste to get him and sit him, behind MAx and Pat? Competition is good for the team, right? Everyone pushing each other, making everyone better? It didn’t seem to help us last year. We started bad, and got worse and worse. Do you think it was just the culture encouraged by those leading the program? It was completely underwhelming in my opinion, and very depressing. Was it obvious to anyone else that the whole team just gave up at some point, and quit on the coaches, for whatever reason?

Why don’t we just devote this entire post of why Wouolard shoud not commit to UK then his choice would be much clearer for him. There are tons of good reasons he should commit to UK and we need to stress those. There is an old song with the lyrics “you’ve got to accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative”, a good thing to remember.
January 20th, 2013 at 12:39 pm
Of course, I’m not trying to reason against him coming. Just trying to figure out where he would fit in with the new system. Obviously, the old regime was severely dysfunctional on several fronts. This one should be SO much better!! VERY positive! I guess the question would be what Neal has been saying. Do you want to be a hero? Be seen as the one who brought back football success to UK? I don’t know much about this Woulard kid, but he is highly ranked and people seem pretty stoked about him. I tend to go with the opinions of others on recruiting, usually ones much more informed than my own. I was just asking for a critical response. Just curious, as to our odds to land the kid, and how he could really push us to a new level of greatness. So, that said, ANY thoughts on that? Besides just conjecture.
January 20th, 2013 at 12:55 pm
Any recruit who wants to play at UK should commit now or move on. None of these players are so cool they have to commit on ESPN on signing day as a surprise. This is the garbage the past coaching staff put up with. We don’t need this. Recruit others and leave anybody that thinks they are so great in the dust. We need we players, not me players. Fed up with it!!!
January 20th, 2013 at 1:19 pm
Well, no one seems to mind this when we get our basketball recruits that way. Would be a big windfall for us to have a top football recruit call out UK on national television, i think.
January 20th, 2013 at 1:31 pm
Maybe he is committing on ESPN cause coach Stoops
Asked him to. For that reason alone to get our name out there.
If he was going to committ to Clemson I think he would have while there.
Just my thought but Idk know anything when it comes to insider knowledge.
I really like this kid but if we miss on him would like the Gillins kid for next year.
I think a QB that can run also would do great in this offense
January 20th, 2013 at 1:56 pm
He just tweeted something about deactivating his twitter after announcing. Could be because he knows how ruthless some UK fans can be. My gut feeling is he’s going Clemson. Would love nothing more than to see him in the Blue and White (and Black) next year though.
January 20th, 2013 at 2:35 pm
Well this kid will def red shirt whereever he goes. He needs to gain some serious weight esp playing in the SEC. Also over here, he will be competing with Smith, Towles, Whitlow, new QB Reese Philips. Hard to tell if he will sign here.
January 20th, 2013 at 3:11 pm
What makes everybody so sure that this kid can’t beat out all the qbs that we have right now…Everybody is saying that he will redshirt, but guess what?…More than likely if you do this he will only play for you for two years instead of three…Like TB at otis he will be leaving after his jr. yr…I hope we get him and I think his talent will outshine all these guys and be our starting qb next yr…IF WE GET HIM…
January 20th, 2013 at 3:46 pm
2- I agree, starting to feel we might miss this kid since he didnt commit after visit, hope I’m wrong though not sure there’s another guy I want more
January 20th, 2013 at 3:52 pm
I really hope we get him, love his attitude.
January 20th, 2013 at 4:11 pm
You don’t wait to announce on signing day if your choice is KY. He’s off our board. Nothing left to see here.
January 20th, 2013 at 5:59 pm
Bingo! Nor is ESPNU going to devote time to someone who is…sorry its the status of the program. One day perhaps.
January 20th, 2013 at 7:24 pm
I don’t understand. Dual-threat quarterback for the much-awaited air raid offense?
