In this NBA Rooks profile of Terrence Jones, we learn that he chose to wear the number six in the pros to represent the number of UK players that went to the draft last year. We also get to see his current teammate Patrick Patterson pick out a pretty pink Dora the Explorer backpack for Jones as part of rookie initiation:
“Dora, to me, is the worst possible book bag you could have and just because he’s my fellow Kentuckian, I had to give it to him.”
Jones and his fellow rookies will have to wear the backpack everywhere they go or they will “face consequences.” Also part of initiation? The Rookie Dance off, which Terrence and the other newbies lost to Donatas “D-Mo” Motijunas. Shoulda flexed on ‘em, T. Jones…

Hope T. Jones didn’t have to wear the backpack to the “D” league. I hope he comes back and kicks butt, he is averaging around 19 per game.

Seriously, talk about brotherhood, TJ’s reasoning behind wearing no.6 is a great tribute to his former teammates, very classy move. Such a bummer that Houston is loaded with PFs, hope Jones can get back up with the team and get in their rotation.
