Dont Sleep on Jason Hatcher

hatcher

The football recruiting news is going to come fast and furious over the course of the next couple of weeks. As that happens, names will be bandied about, including those of high talent as Stoops swings for the fences. During that process, one person to not overlook as a potential Cat is Trinity DE Jason Hatcher. Hatcher is currently committed to USC and says at this point that he is firmly planning on going there. However he took a visit to Kentucky this past weekend and many Louisville fans think he will end up a Cardinal. While any of the three schools are still possible, I am told that Kentucky is in VERY good shape with Hatcher and that he could very well end up in Lexington. He is one of the most talented players in America and would be a HUGE get for the UK football program, coming from the state’s best high school program. Trinity is a place Kentucky would love to have a connection in for years to come, and Hatcher would be a heck of a first step.

So keep Hatcher in mind and good news could be on the horizon.

  1. StoopKid Says:

    Come on down?

  2. nope Says:

    not happening

  3. Carlzwa11 Says:

Shoutout to Matt Jones for being complimentary of THE Trinity High School

  4. Laker Cat 18 Says:

I’ll believe it when the signature hits the paper.

  5. jonky Says:

#2, too bad, guess that’s what Hatcher told you?

  6. IDKCat Says:

Is this a “typo” or forreal??? I hope this is legitimate. I live in Louisville. The kid is a beast.

  7. Db11 Says:

This is Matt’s way of saying he is confident that UK will get him, but doesn’t want to say it aloud because he isn’t totally sure. Just like right before we got stoops, wasn’t totally sure, but it was probable.

  8. Blah Says:

St. Xavier is academically better though. And don’t give me any of this DuPont Manual bologna either.

  9. Bird in Kentucky Says:

Hope Stoops signs him this would be big. Glad it wasn’t another Manti Te’o post.

  10. Question Says:

Why did we fall out of the race for Asianti Woulard? I thought he was close to picking UK?

  11. TIGERS Says:

    8) I couldn’t have said it better myself, and we will beat Trinity next year in football! #WeAreStX #WeAreUK

  12. Question Says:

This would be great! UofL fans would go ape shit if the Louisville boy went to UK. Make it happen #Stoops.

  13. Bearer of Bad News Says:

#10, Clemson offered him a scholarship.

  14. Rams Says:

Academically Manual takes a big dump on St. X and Trinity… oh and they have girls. Maybe most importantly let’s not forget it is FREE, from what I understand (scholarships aside) STX & Trinity cost more than many private COLLEGES in KY – Where is the return on investment there? Manual is by far the best school in Louisville. Not even close.

That said aside from Keenan Burton, athletically they have a lot to strive for, so by all means let the floodgates to Trinity football swing wide open to UK.

    - Totally biased Manual Alum -

  15. Ballard Grad Says:

Manual might have girls but since I’m over 18 and not Drew Franklin I don’t care.

  16. DB11 Says:

    8) DuPont Manual is the best academic/cultural school in the state of Kentucky and they don’t have to pay $9000 a year just to go. St. X and Trinity grads hate to hear that but #FactsAreFacts.

  17. Wildcatwill Says:

#11 yeah you will with your coach who has never even been a head coach in high school. Go Rocks take state again….

  18. RICK Says:

Hope we get him but if he wants to get beat up in the locker room he may want to stay home and go to the cards. Best high school in the state, does he mean high school recuriting school.

  19. Hosier Wlldcat Says:

We need this player more than any other in this class. Not because Louisville or anyone else wants him but because we need to get the top Kentucky Players. Or program will never have credibility if in state players leave. Explain that to a AL kid who is considering UK and finds out the best player at his position from KY is going to ND. If we can’t keep the two or three best players in our state why would a great out of state player want to come here>

  20. Rams Says:

#16 Preach on. #15 going to schools that have more than one gender allow students to prepare for the real world and give them the ability to interact socially with people outside of one specific demographic – i.e. white (overwhelming majority) male. I wasn’t referring to whatever gross things Drew may or may not be interested in.

  21. Norwegian Woods Says:

    Hatcher’s a UL lock.

  22. SexnNursinHomes Says:

10- If we don’t get Woulard. No prob. We are gunning for DJ Gillins, who is just as good if not better.

  23. Carlzwa11 Says:

Academically Manual is the superior. The Tiger pride is admirable, but Trinity > St X all day and twice on Sundays. With the girl situation, it is a moot point. Trinity and X get all the catholic girls so it really doesnt matter.

  24. TIGERS Says:

    17) You are totally right that they have never coached in highschool its just a shame that all our head coach, OC, and DC ever did with their lives was go to the NFL and make big bucks! TIGERS WILL TAKE STATE!! oh and by the way it was fun to rush the court on you all the other day!

  25. scottydee Says:

So are we out of the running for Woulard? How about Samples? Any updates on these guys?

  26. Hunter Says:

    Never going to happen.

  27. hahahahahahahaha Says:

Isn’t this the same kid that took a shot at KY when joker was there, man-o-man how your attitudes change real quick towards the kid.

  28. Wildcatwill Says:

#20 Yes because while I was at Trinity I never interacted with girls or anyone who wasn’t white. Trinity plenty prepared me for the real world and it’s amazing I can talk with girls and communitcate with people of different races. The girl I dated all through highschool went to Manual and it was always fun to see the fist fights breakout at dances there and an occasional gun get pulled in the parking lot at a dance(This happened more than once at a Manual event). Those things never happened at a Trinity event while I was there so preach on….

  29. Tim Says:

Idiotic to say trinity is better than X athletically. St. X is a far better academic school and is ALSO better athletically. Just because Trinity is or has been better in football does not make them better athletically. Look at it across the board, X is and always has been better in athletics and academics isn’t even close. Manual is a great academic school. Congrats. X provides great academics AND athletics. But hey trinity is better in football so that = better athletics than X? Don’t think so.

  30. He's good but.... Says:

LOUISVILLE has just received TWO 4-STAR DE commitments this month . . . As good as Hatcher is, he might not start ahead of those two Florida dudes going to that SUGAR BOWL CHAMPION. They are building a JUGGERNAUT 70 miles west….. Will UK STORM THE FIELD if they ever beat LOUISVILLE again like last time in 2007?? LOL SMH,!!

  31. motodog Says:

Well ..it was fun talking about all these 4 star guys for a while anyway.

  32. Take All Of Their Guns, Leave Them A Musket Says:

    #21 & #26 Yall sound nervous.

  33. St. Paul Raiders Says:

Glad you folks can come on here and relive your high school days.

  34. FeedMeSeymour Says:

I really hope we can pull this off. Hatcher to UK would be such a big pickup. It would give Stoops and D.J. Eliit real credibility.

  35. TIGERS Says:

Saint X is way better athletically then Trinity!! Golf, Soccer(2nd straight STATE), Cross Country(2nd straight STATE), Basketball this year, Wrestling, Swimming(25 straight STATE), Lacrosse(5 straight STATE), Baseball, and Track. You guys can have football if we are better then you in everything else and by the way football changes next year when X wins STATE!!

  36. ikeveready Says:

Went to Male. 23 – Had my share of plenty of catholic girls from SHA.

28 – If you ever needed drugs, find a T or X boy. Not to mention, my best friend (who didn’t have a weapon) was stabbed at a party by a Trinity student who went a got a hunting knife out of a classmates car. Not to mention the inordinate number involved in D&Ds, DUIs, etc in the highlands. Yeah, there all upstanding guys, real pillars of the community.

  37. Trinity Alum Says:

    36) Trinity is where you go when you need drugs, trust me on that. By the way I will be selling some tomorrow night at Sawyer if anyone wants some.

  38. burner Says:

St.X fans acting like a bunch of butt hurt cardinal fans right now. Was St. X mentioned in this post? No. gtfo

  39. reliving high school cause I'm a loser Says:

You all don’t know what high school is till you come on out to Moore!!!!

  40. panties in a wad Says:

St.X tigers all upset because they have no good football players getting recruited cause they are getting owned by Trinity and others. Go cry over your mothers split milk and suck it babies….

  41. 100110101010 Says:

Louisville people and their High Schools… most annoying / pointless conversation in this city.

I’ve never lived anywhere and been asked “Where’d you go to High School?” more. I’m not from here and couldn’t care LESS about where you went to high school.

  42. Larry linebeard Says:

Both are great schools don’t get me wrong but St X>Trinity… Welcome to the Jungle?!?!?

  43. Larry linebeard Says:

N also yea we didnt have as many good football players but also we didnt cheat like I know trinity does, have cousins that played there don’t act like they don’t pay players to go there

  44. High School football sucks Says:

#41 no shit. It is crazy that is the first thing that people ask you here…Small time town..

  45. irrevelant Says:

#43. If that isn’t calling the kettle black. Stay irrelevant and watch the train wreck unfold as your unproven coach’s get dominated for years to come by Trinity.

  46. No one cares Says:

Seriously no one cares whether you think St.X or Trinity is better. If you’re not in high school anymore you shouldn’t be arguing about it… pathetic

  47. The Boss is always a St. X grad Says:

All those Trinity and Manual grads make great employees.

  48. Manti Te'o Says:

All my bitches go to St.X….

  49. St. Paul Raiders Says:

    41/46- Thank you.

  50. Bobbum man Says:

    41,44,46- u mad bro? #GEDequivalencyGraduates

  51. St. Paul Raiders Says:

Anyone whose crowning achievement is graduating from a specific high school in Louisville KY needs more achievements.

  52. I am better than you Says:

#51 not just any high school but the great esteemed tradition of…..Oh yeaah your right….

  53. Walter Sobchak Says:

Almost everyone I have met that went to either Trinity or St. X are all complete douchebags. There is strong supporting evidence in this comment section.

  54. ikeeveready Says:

So it’s not important, in Coach Stoops case for instance, that he went to Cardinal Mooney High School in Youngstown when he is trying to recruit from there? How about a business owner or sales rep trying to get a foot in the door would that make a difference if someone is a Trinity/X/Male/Manual grad? When I lived in Charlotte I was asked constantly, “Carolina or Davidson” (guess I didn’t look like the Duke type, i.e. douchebag, Sorry Matt) so it happens with colleges which often are far less personal or influential on your life than high school. For it’s size Louisville is very small. The pride instilled by each of the big high schools is pretty strong. It happens out in the state too, hello Boyle County I’m looking at you.

  55. Walter Sabchak Says:

I am a complete douchebag thats why no one likes me.

  56. Jason Hatcher Says:

You guys are dogging my high school and you want me to come to UK?

  57. charlie strong Says:

    St.X has a football team?

  58. timer Says:

Getting this guy to commit to UK would be as big for the football program as getting Jamal Mashburn was for the basketball program about 20 years ago.

  59. Drew Says:

    56. Yes!!!!!!

  60. ikeeveready Says:

    56) Actually that Daylen Hall kid from X didn’t turn out so well and the publics aren’t really producing right now. We’d love for you and James to come to Lexington and play against real talent, measure yourself against the best. Have you seen the schedules for the Cats and Cards next season? 6 top 25 teams vs Zero. Playing for the coach who developed the current #2 draft pick who happens to play, Defensive End! In fact, do you know how many USC players are in the top 100 drafte prospects? ZERO and Monte’s already left town.

  61. W.W.B.B.N.D? Says:

Kiffin’s dad left USC and is DC for Dallas Cowboys, and the USC team was 7-6, and had a player brawl in the locker room after bowl game. So, I am not sure how stable USC is for the next few years.

  62. C.M. Says:

I heard coach Brown was on the trail in western Kentucky trying persuade Hunter Bivin to stay out of South Bend. HB was captain of the Herm Edward Underarmour team. We could always use another 6’8″ 300 pounder up front. Any body know if he’s reconsidering his commitment if NotteDame loses their coach?

  63. BGF Says:

I have seen Trinity play over the last couple of years and I hope the Hatcher decides to stay committed to USC. I think they’re a perfect fit for each other. I was hoping Quick would make a surprise pick and choose UK, but I hope that UK goes after the RB, Dawkins. He can flat out play!
