Reece King is battling Leukemia but that’s not slowing him down from watching his Kentucky Wildcats. Reece is a big fan of the Cats and has been rooting them on from his hospital room at Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville. Leave Reece a comment below to let him know Big Blue Nation is thinking about him and loves his support for UK. Go Cats, Reece!
— John Calipari made an interesting comment after last night’s game when he said he can’t see this team being up by 20 on anybody. He called it “womping” opponents, like his teams have done in the past. Nerlens Noel, on the other hand, believes he and his teammates can “womp” someone, it’s just a matter of time. He said, “In time I feel that we can “womp” teams. Right now, it is a process and we have different types of players. We can beat teams by 20 and 30, but not right now. We have to stay patient and keep working to that point. We really need to mesh together on the court, and play together at all times. We have to stay up communication, defensively, and have each other’s back.”
If this “womping” is going to happen, we’d like to see it soon, please. And often.
— Also from last night: Archie Goodwin’s dunk attempt would’ve shattered the internet had it gone in. Top 10 all-time if he pulls that off.
— In football news, Mark Stoops announced the date for the spring football game this morning. The scrimmage will take place Saturday, April 13 at 7:00 p.m. The move from afternoon to evening is brilliant as it encourages fans to come out and tailgate, or, better yet, spend the day at Keeneland and attend the spring game afterwards as the nightcap to a perfect Lexington double-header. I think UK can expect a record crowd for the event this year.
— After receiving its 20th football commitment this morning from Nate Willis, Kentucky has five spots left — unless they run someone off — for the class of 2013. There are a lot of names left on the board so it’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out on signing day in three weeks. Asiantii Woulard and Ra’shaad Samples are two names I’m hoping to see on the list when the class is officially announced. There are plenty of other great talents showing interesting in the Cats as well.
— Willis, who never visited Lexington, tweeted his commitment:
I just commited to Kentucky.. Looking forward to meeting coach stoops so we can seal the deal! Go get your number 1 jerseys! #BBN #WeAreUK

— Don’t forget: Mark Stoops will be on KSR in the morning for his first interview with Matt Jones. He’s expected to come on at 11:00 a.m. so plan your morning accordingly.
— And on today’s show, Matt and Ryan recapped Kentucky’s first home conference win and discussed Stoops’ recruiting class. Have a listen at TalkRadio1080.com.

Has any one seen Julius randle”s teammate Mickey Mitchell. He is the most talented white player I’ve seen EVER. He’s top 5 in the class of 2015 look up his mixtapes.
January 16th, 2013 at 3:48 pm
Hang in there Reece! You are a true Cat Fan, my man!!!!!
January 16th, 2013 at 3:49 pm
“Also from last night: Archie Goodwin’s dunk attempt would’ve shattered the internet had it gone in. Top 10 all-time if he pulls that off.”
In reality “Not Top 10″
But I still have faith in him and this team
January 16th, 2013 at 3:49 pm
Saying that dunk would’ve been top 10 all time is stretching it.
Stay strong Reece, and nothing can hold you down.
January 16th, 2013 at 3:49 pm
Anyone know where I can find a clip of this Archie missed dunk? I must’ve already been african-americaned out by that point.
January 16th, 2013 at 3:51 pm
Reece, keep fighting the good fight! BBN is that much stronger because of you!
January 16th, 2013 at 3:53 pm
Reece the BBN loves ya hang in there buddy!!! KY FOOTBALL BABY!!!! GO CATS!!!
January 16th, 2013 at 3:54 pm
Does anyone have any rumors regarding Justin Hatcher from Trinity? Seems to be something boiling under the surface with him.
January 16th, 2013 at 3:58 pm
Hello Reece. Keep Fighting Buddy.
January 16th, 2013 at 3:59 pm
That is my nephew with my boys. Reece, you are a true inspiration. Love you so much. Uncle Hunter, Cousin Aaron and Walker
January 16th, 2013 at 4:01 pm
Reece wishing you the best of luck from one Wildcat fan to another. #BBN
January 16th, 2013 at 4:02 pm
Keep up the fight Reece!!! We are all behind you!
January 16th, 2013 at 4:03 pm
10 – He does not fit the scheme that USC’s new DC runs…. really helps UK’s cause out.
and BTW the “only five spots left” is not correct. Neil does not like his personnell at WR or RB outside of Collins and Clemmons (if healthy). They will recruit and accept offers from everyone they can, and tell others to take a hike…
January 16th, 2013 at 4:05 pm
That’s a big IF, Drew. Archie is selfish. Should have passed the rock.
January 16th, 2013 at 4:06 pm
Reece, stay strong and all the well wishes and prayers to you and your family. Go Cats!
January 16th, 2013 at 4:09 pm
First off to Reece, keep fighting brother you are in my prayers, Big Blue Nation is a family and you are the heart of it my friend. but about the Archie dunk does anyone remember around what time in the game that it happend? I want to go back and watch it again
January 16th, 2013 at 4:09 pm
Anyone have footage of that archie missed dunk?
January 16th, 2013 at 4:11 pm
16, was thinking the same thing. IF he didn’t try to posterize defenders, this team would be a TON more consistent. Haven’t seen a shot chart on Archie but I wonder how many of his 2-10 were point blank…like the missed dunk.
January 16th, 2013 at 4:13 pm
#3 You will be happy to hear that last year after one of him and Julius’s games, Mitchell walked out of the locker room with UK’s game shorts on and openly stated that that’s where he wants to go
January 16th, 2013 at 4:14 pm
THANKS REECE! what a inspiration you are! Go big blue!!!
January 16th, 2013 at 4:15 pm
Sorry Reece, I didn’t even read teh post. Best Wishes and many prayers to you in your fight. You are an inspiration to us all.
January 16th, 2013 at 4:16 pm
Reece, stay strong and know BBN is behind you buddy.
I will be attending my first Spring Scrimmage football game this spring. Looking forward to it. Glad they moved it to the evening. Don’t know why that didn’t happen sooner.
I’m surprised Archie isn’t taking more flack from Coach Cal, announcers, KSR, and fans about being selfish. That missed dunk attempt, while athletic, explosive, and out of nowhere, should have been a pass to a teammate. I think 2 were wide open?
January 16th, 2013 at 4:17 pm
15 G-Unit- What abou Demarco Robinson, and Demarcus Sweat, or Justin Taylor, and Dyshawn Mobley?
January 16th, 2013 at 4:17 pm
Hey REECE!!!!!!! Hang in there buddy,we are all behind you!!!!!!!!!!!!
January 16th, 2013 at 4:20 pm
Hang in there Reece! Best wishes and prayers to you in your fight. But yeah Im going with Post 25, we got more decent talent outside of Clemons and Collins
January 16th, 2013 at 4:21 pm
Reece, you are an inspiration to all of the BBN! My prayers are with you and your family. Keep fighting!
January 16th, 2013 at 4:22 pm
Reece – Keep inspiring our Cats to fight buddy. Just know that prayer power of the BBN is behind you every step of the way. We all can’t wait to see big things from you in the future!
January 16th, 2013 at 4:22 pm
The thing about the dunk, he had two open team mates trailing the fast break that would have had an easy layup/dunk.
January 16th, 2013 at 4:26 pm
25 – Brown is not exactly “big” on them… dont know why, but he said “we will take all we need and make the numbers work”
January 16th, 2013 at 4:27 pm
Just like our fight song Reece, Til the battle is won. God bless you and your family.
January 16th, 2013 at 4:27 pm
G-Unit, what type of connection do u have to give such information?
January 16th, 2013 at 4:29 pm
Archie is not selfish….he is just tired of watching people who cannot play, and the same with Alex. Two most talented players have no idea what is going on with the offense.
January 16th, 2013 at 4:30 pm
Reece, even when you are having a cruddy day, I hope the thought that all of us in Big Blue Nation are pulling for you will make you feel better. Hang in there and keep on plugging – one day at a time, my man! It will get better, and some day these tough times will be a memory for you. I hope you kick this thing and grow up to play for the Cats some day!
January 16th, 2013 at 4:31 pm
Reece, you are the best “fan of the day” ever…and they’ve had some very pretty women on there before! Hang in there man, you can do anything with God’s help. We are all behind you and praying for you. Go Cats!
January 16th, 2013 at 4:35 pm
Keep fighting like a Wildcat Reece! BBN is pulling for you and wishing you the best!
January 16th, 2013 at 4:37 pm
we were sitting at the opposite end of the arena, so i saw him launch fly through the air and never saw him land……..as high and as far as he traveled i thought he ended up about the 4th row! When he came down in the second half and passed the ball to Mays in the corner he got a pretty loud cheer, hope he takes that to heart
January 16th, 2013 at 4:37 pm
Atta boy Reece…keep fighting this thing and get back to 100% soon!! You and your buddies keep watching and cheering for our Cats…and dude….that is an awesome hat your boy #23 has on!! You the man!!
btw…I didn’t mind the Archie dunk-in-yo-face attempt…I like the aggression actually. Sure he could have dished off but if he did and the ball gets deflected or stolen, then we would be complaining that he should have just dunked on the guy. Remember, Cal is the one that keeps telling the guys to go dunk on somebody. If it worked, the Rupp’s roof would have come off…they kind of fire we need.
January 16th, 2013 at 4:39 pm
You are a great kid Reece! Keep up the fight!
January 16th, 2013 at 4:43 pm
Hey Reece, I can tell by the picture that you are a sweetheart of a young man. Big Blue Nation = Big Blue Family. Add a big sister in E-town who is thinking of you, and wishing you everything happy and good.
January 16th, 2013 at 4:44 pm
On on Reece, your ready for the fight today!
Praying for ya buddy! Go Reece and go Cats!
January 16th, 2013 at 4:44 pm
Reece,
You define a real fan. I pray that you know that God wants the very best for you. I also pray that you are comforted so much by Him that there are times when you feel like you Reece are the only child God has.
Reece you make all of the BBN proud to be a Wildcat. May you be blessed beyond measure. Keep us updated.
January 16th, 2013 at 4:45 pm
Remember when I was interviewed during the UK vs ND basketball game for 30 minutes straight? Remember when I made up a story about my girlfriend dying just so everyone would love me and I could get enough media attention to hopefully win the Heisman?
January 16th, 2013 at 4:46 pm
Just for fun:
UK is #37 right now in team rankings for 2013 football recruiting with 1380 points.
UK is top 2 for these 4-star players: Asiantii Woulard (QB), Marcus McWilson (DB), Jason Hatcher (DE), JoJo Kemp (RB)
UK is in top 2 for these 3-star guys all with a 5.7 player ranking: Jeff Badet (WR), Ryan Timmons (WR), Argeros Turner (RB), Stefan McCray (RB), Maka (C)
In the Rivals system you get 105 points for 4-stars, and 90 points for 5.7 rated 3-stars. But only the top 20 players count. Also, Steve Borden (UK Committ) has not been evaluated yet but is said to be a 3-star guy.
UK needs 165 points to get into to the 25 class rankings, 269 points to get into top 20. The top 20 isnt going to make dramatic changes because all already have 20+ recruits. You do the math, is it possible? yes, probable…ehhh maybe not…. Imagine if Stoops and his staff in 1 month jump from 64th to a top 25-30 class…. pretty impressive!
January 16th, 2013 at 4:47 pm
Pete Thamel’s journalistic integrity takes what might be a KO blast as Deadspin JUST EXPOSED THAT HIS SI STORY ABOUT NOTRE DAME’S MANTI TEO’S DEAD GIRLFRIEND WAS A HOAX!!!! I promise this is true
January 16th, 2013 at 4:51 pm
THIS DESERVES A SPECIAL KSR POST!!! Thamel is a GONER!!!
January 16th, 2013 at 4:52 pm
When Kyle tipped a ball to Archie last night, all Archie had to do was throw it to Kyle and it would’ve been a dunk or layup. Instead Archie made it a tougher bucket because he drove it himself so he could score. I can’t stand selfish players. Missed Harrow on that fastbreak when he missed the dunk and missed Nerlens underneath for a dunk when he ended up getting fouled and missed his FT’s. Turrible team ball.
January 16th, 2013 at 4:56 pm
33- Better one than Matt Jones, Ill say that… Matt gets his stuff from most of my posts on here, but I cant give up my guys though. Go back and read previous posts, Almost everything I have said has been echoed on KSR and ALMOST everything has come true. I have know Hatcher was on the edge of flipping his committment for almost 3 weeks now. I knew about Marcus McWilson for nearly 3 weeks… I just know a couple guys that work for rivals and am good friends with a member of the athletic committee that is heavily involved with football and is great friends with Neil… went to school with Neil… and Neil has told him that he needs more talent than what he has. His exact words were:
“In this system you need big backs that can run/catch, but most importantly, take on a LB or DE/DT and block them considering how much we go from the shotgun. WR’s either have to be big and strong, or if they are a tad small, they have to be extremely athletic and fast. We run a ton of WR/RB screens in the flat so we can get a 1 on 1… Our guy has to be big and physical enough to break that tackle, or fast enough and athletic enough to make him miss… I am missing that right now, and we need guys that can do those things to make this work.”
January 16th, 2013 at 5:07 pm
Hang in there Reece. Stay positive and keep smiling like you are in the picture. Big Blue Nation has your back buddy.
January 16th, 2013 at 5:41 pm
Fight on Reece!!!
January 16th, 2013 at 5:47 pm
Listing this afternoon to 790 AM Sports Talk Radio in Houston a few minutes after 3, Lance and Charlie not certain their last names were talking about Vince Young leaving the University of Texas team and school after their football NC game and never attending another class, well and good just don’t care. However, after that comment one said do you think Cousins attended class after Kentucky finished their Basketball season the other laughed and said Calipari was his coach what do you think, and more laughs and a couple of more comments indicating Calipari didn’t care about school or his players attending class. One did say that John Wall had good grades. Wouldn’t normally pay much attention except that Texas and the Houston area seems to be a great recruiting ground for Calipari and you wouldn’t want parents to hear these unfounded rumors; just a few miles from were the twins live.

January 16th, 2013 at 10:42 pm
Reece, did you see Archie Goodwin’s dunk attempt last night? The one where it looked like he had jets attached to his Nike’s? Like one of my favorite announcer’s, Dick Vitale, says, that would have been awesome with a capital A, baby! And I like to say that would have been awesome possum! Haha. (I know, the correct spelling of possum is different, but where is the fun in saying that is awesome opposum? lol) Take care of yourself, buddy. I’m cheering for ya!!!!!
Reece! Reece! Reece! Reece! Reece! Reece! Reece! Reece! Reece! Reece! Reece! Reece! Reece!
January 16th, 2013 at 10:55 pm

What a smile. You are in our prayers. Remember: “A cheerful heart is a good medicine, but a downcast spirit dries up the bones.” – Proverbs 17:22
Be well.
January 17th, 2013 at 8:57 am
Hang tight Reese, with the BBN and God at your side you’re unstopable.
