Oh, Boyd.

  1. wellsir Says:

    what’s that about? First

  2. Crizzle Says:

Quick everyone feel bad for Boyd!

  3. Double negative Says:

He obviously didn’t “take” enough grammar from the university; so you wanted to regret your college decision?

  4. Cecil Says:

He pretty much got out what he put in

  5. Crizzle Says:

He could’ve helped a team lose elsewhere.

  6. mashley Says:

Did he go all Richie Farmer and take the VCR’s and picnic table from the old Recruiting room?

  7. RonPaulApproves Says:

His decision was between Oregon and UK. Someone needs to check his IQ if he doesn’t regret his decision.

  8. tom Says:

    4. agree completely Cecil. He was a huge under achiever from the start

  9. Alucas Says:

4- You’re absolutely right. So much potential, so little effort. I was thrilled to see him come, I’m happier to see him go.

  10. Joker Phillips Says:

I’m sure it wasn’t a pleasure playing for me. I’m sorry you didn’t reach your potential of the stars listed by your name. Good riddance to us both.

  11. I want to lick Tubby's sweet stache Says:

Another worthless Boyd to come and go through the program. There aren’t any more are there?

  12. don't buy it Says:

I know a little something about Boyd’s days at Henry Clay. If they tried to “change him into something he wasn’t”, it means that they tried to change him into a hard worker. If they did whatever they wanted to with him, well maybe he should have left after a semester or a year instead of whining about it after sticking around 4 years.

  13. ThankfulCat Says:

Way to guarantee that you will never get a job here Aaron. UK folks take care of their own but when you throw us under the bus, we don’t forget.

    Enjoy working in Tennessee

  14. Kujo Says:

Who is the ‘they’ that treated him so poorly? Joker? Cheerleaders?

  15. Sac Says:

And he “took” 4 years of scholly for what?

  16. UKfanNKY Says:

Dude get over yourself you were a total flop!! Till last year you did NOTHING and that wasn’t much at all!! GO CATS!!!

  17. Crizzle Says:

Either be clear about your grievances or shut up. Sick of this cryptic woes me twitter whining.

  18. Crizzle Says:

He’s probably crying as he types this up

  19. 3cats Says:

Arron, it took you 4 yr to get on the field! How about doing someting for yourself. Your were just over rated as a high school player. Get some cheese to go with your wine.

  20. Ken-tuck-ee Says:

I think he is now realizing he sucked to bad to make in the CFL, NFL etc. and is to dumb to get a decent job. Looking forward to receiving my blizzard from Mr. Boyd, a true lazya$$

  21. Yeah...okay Says:

“…never said a word”. That is until you blasted your school via twitter. What a cry baby.

  22. mudcreekmark Says:

I’m not going to say who is wrong or who is right on this issue. All I know is what I saw on the field. I saw Boyd not getting many opportunities his first 3 years and then when he got his chance this year he looked pretty good.My question is this, if you were so unhappy and thought you were being done wrong then why didn’t you transfer. If I was a football player at an SEC school and thought I was good enough to play at the next level, I wouldn’t wait until after my eligibility ran out and then complain about getting misused, mistreated or whatever. I would have transferred and showed UK what they missed.

  23. STEVE! Says:

Including the costs of tuition, room, board, and all other expenses associated with a varsity athlete, UK probably gave him about $200,000 over four years. What did he give back, about 10 catches?

  24. Chukdawg Says:

    Oreo blizzard please,extra spoon.

  25. bigblue4 Says:

He ran a 4.9 40 yard dash at pro day. That’s all that should ever be said about him. He had zero talent.

  26. May be he did try! Says:

@mudcreekmark: May be he tried transferring but couldn’t get offers from good schools because of his limited playing time at UK…

  27. Bluebloodtoo Says:

Me, me, me… what you gonna do for me? Give you a place to live, food to eat, and a degree which together is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and give you an OPPORTUNITY to show the world how good of an athlete you are. If you fail to cash in on that opportunity you should probably blame yourself instead of the coaches.

Some people in life might “open a door of opportunity” for you, but it’s your job to do the work required to excel in that opportunity.

  28. KidNamedShappy Says:

Well here’s what he was http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Aaron-Boyd-60978 Any kid who has a chance to have a scholarship to play football should forever be grateful. Aaron Boyd went to high school with me. I saw his rise, I even stole his Oregon hat on signing day. The program failed him and wasn’t as hard as they should have been on him. But what he got was an education, a free one. I’m going to be in debt when it’s all said and done.

  29. don't buy it Says:

#22 Why do you think he didn’t get many opportunities? Because he couldn’t find his way up the depth chart. He looked pretty good this year? He had 24 catches for 233 yds. in 12 games, but if memory serves he got 100 yards and about 10 catches vs. Kent State and did very little after that. Its simple.. he was overrated as a recruit, he lacked SEC speed and on top of that he never worked to make himself better. As a previous poster said, he got a free ride for 4 years and hopefully an education but now he whines about it instead of transferring when he could have.

  30. LA Says:

If you play your best and contribute to the team and leave the field everyday knowing you gave it your all you dont send out crap like this.

  31. Not Hating, Just Stating Says:

One of the most over-rated players Kentucky has ever had.

  32. I Say Says:

You don’t see Larod tweeting things like this

  33. Big Blue Coming at You Says:

    28. He failed himself. You get what you put in and Boyd didn’t put in enough.

  34. Florida Bois Says:

Tyler, this is news worthy of blogging about? Y’all need space filler or something?

  35. Rockfield, KY Says:

I hope he worked harder in the classroom than he did on the football field or he’s screwed. Big time wasted talent that was too worried about being a campus superstar instead of a gridiron superstar.

  36. Rockfield, KY Says:

I’m sure Stevie Johnson, Randall Cobb, Keenan Burton, Dicky Lyons, Chris Matthews, and LaRod King would disagree with him.

  37. Kris Says:

Who is Aaron Boyd? Cats are really going to miss those 30 catches over 4 years.

  38. Guy F Says:

13 – this site constantly trashes players. So aaron fits right in. Tyler is the worst about it.

  39. St. Paul Raiders Says:

The kid may be all the things most of you say he is, BUT it’s pretty clear our outgoing football staff didn’t know their heads from their asses. So maybe, just maybe, there’s more to the story than the generally accepted ideas about Boyd. That’s not to say it isn’t possible that he was a turd AND the staff was incompetent, but I also don’t understand why so many are so quick to side with the coaches on this one while simultaneously bashing them out of the other side of their mouths.

  40. Boo Hiss Says:

He should’ve been a TE his senior year at Henry Clay, and he absolutely should’ve been a TE while at UK.

He obviously never made that transition; whether or not that was his fault or the coaching staff’s, I don’t know.

  41. Florida Bois Says:

News out there that we’re making headway with the Alexander, yet KSR wants to focus on lame tweets from Aaron Boyd? smh

  42. mores Says:

    4) nailed it
    7) because Oregon has put so many receivers in the NFL, right?

I never saw Randall Cobb, Keenan Burton, Steve Johnson, Chris Matthews, or Dicky Lyons ever complain like this.

  43. Lawrence Says:

Bud Dupree agreed with his rant. I think his rant is directed towards administration instead of previous coaches.

  44. The Mr. Costanza Says:

Hey Boyd, Festivus is over! You’ll have to air your grievances later in the year now.

  45. Tstone Says:

Is he talking about the new staff or old one?

  46. Bob Says:

Actually this university paid for your college education, room & board, and more. I think UK is the one who came out on the short end of that deal. All that scholarship money to become bff’s with the basketball guys and parade around campus like he was somebody. You get what you put into it, which apparently wasn’t very much.

  47. G Says:

had a class in high school with this guy. such a tool.

  48. Hey Says:

    Two Words- Who cares?

  49. quackattack Says:

How about everyone stops bashing Aaron! I would love to see half y’all out on that field doing what he did! How about y’all get up at 5am everyday to practice and train. Maybe UK didn’t do so well this past season but I hate to break it to y’all, but there aint no “I” in Team! It takes a whole team effort to win or lose! So why don’t y’all take your hating elsewhere! And yes please someone tell me I can’t talk or need to go back to school! Will make my day, since y’all have nothing better to do than bash on Aaron for tweeting what he feels! Id love to see y’all’s tweets! Y’all probably the fake fans who only like Kentucky when they win! haha. Have a good day y’all!

  50. bret1555 Says:

Took what he “deserved.” Must have a pretty low opinion of himself, considering he only “took” 30 career catches.

  51. lol Says:

He was actually good when he saw the field this year, but he screwed by the QB situation. He probably didn’t see much action due to effort/attitude. Shame.

  52. lol Says:

    *got screwed

  53. KC says Says:

@ 49. quackattack….gimme a free ride and I’m there. I don’t go bitching on twitter when I didn’t work hard enough to get a grade so I achieve the career I wanted. Welcome to life Aaron, no one gets anything handed to them. Wished you had learned that sooner.

  54. Number 49 Says:

    Y’all

  55. 15shep Says:

    Tit-baby

  56. cecil Says:

@49 You say everyone needs to stop bashing him, he is the one bashing the program. And I cant do what he could on the field that’s why he’s the one that got a free ride. I had to pay for my education.

  57. Realistic Thinker Says:

Oh STFU Boyd!!! You were overrated from the beginning!!! You may have been the slowest WR to ever wear a UK uniform. I’m sorry you couldn’t get on the field against teams in the Big Boy Football Conference because their man coverage could lock down your slow ass!!! The only way I think the coaching staff screwed up with you is by not telling you to gain about 35 pounds and moving you to TE. What a joke!

  58. beanieweanies4breakfast Says:

Who needs 4 years of college to become a drug dealer? With the amount of effort he displayed, that is all he has the desire or motivation to be….

And #49, even without his talent I could have caught 30 passes in my career “and” received a degree with which I could be Boyds’ parole officer!

  59. Realistic Thinker Says:

Face the facts, his only good game in his career came against a team that played predominantly zone defense. He was a great route runner but against man coverage he was non-existant.

  60. Blueswade Says:

I paid my way to get thru UK.
I got a decent job…not a great one, but decent.
I’ve had season football tix for quite a few years.
I’ve seen good football players and not so good football players come and go.
YOU Aaron Boyd were one of the biggest disappointments.
You should be mad, but not at UK….at yourself!
You got a free education, free tutoring, free meals, free weight training, free everything and evidently you are blaming everybody else for your lack of success.
You have no one to blame, but yourself!
Time to get out and get a real job!
    Good day sir!

  61. SeoulCat Says:

    What a bitch.

  62. Nick Says:

Who knows…maybe he was really good. I lost all faith in joker to evaluate talent on our own team when our best players often started the year 3 deep on the depth chart.

What was clear was the Joker couldn’t evaluate talent on his own team.

  63. Badams Says:

It was obvious he put in little effort or he would have been on the field. Even with a redshirt year he still didn’t progress. I agree with what someone said, he was too busy actin like a big shot and runnin his mouth on fb and twitter. I think because he was listed as a 4* he came in with a big head and a bad attitude. He knew after his first year whether or not UK was a good fit for him, many players transferred, he could have too. He really just needs to shut up cuz he got a free education and I’m in debt out the ass. Stop complaining! No one is goin to hand you anything!

  64. MemphisCat Says:

I think that with the new coaching staff coming in and the new system Mr. Boyd knows where the program is heading and is kind of jealous of what he had at UK. I understand his position, he now knows that it is over and you get what you put into the program. R. Cobb and Stevie Johnson understood what they were getting into and have proven they deserve to be in the NFL, with hard work and effort. You don’t have to be on a National Championship team to be a star and become drafted.

  65. Bald Guy Says:

Some of the inability to take the high road… I wish this young man the best of luck but college is not about what the university does for you. If anything, this was the one time he could legitimately use someone else to get ahead and if he did not there are plenty of mirrors around.

  66. Swifty Says:

how about a FREE education?? smh, I can understand frustration from the young man, but what did the “Universtiy” do to him??

  67. Big Blue Fan Says:

So its the university’s fault you didn’t turn out to be a good football player? Humm seems like he isn’t going to make it in the nfl and more than likely #*$(#@ around while at UK and didn’t work hard. Blaming others for your lack of work ethic lol

  68. Funny Says:

So since UK held you back shouldn’t the NFL scouts see all your talent UK lacked to see?

  69. JamesHetfield Says:

Give it 2 years and he will be on the draw.

  70. The Truth Says:

Maybe if you would of been in the gym or in the film room working hard, instead of at a bar or a party every night during the season, you would of seen the feild more. All those other players that played over you deserved it. You wasted your talent by the little effort you showed.

  71. The Facts Says:

Maybe if you would of taken at least a day or 2 off from partying during the week and worked hard on the field you would of played a little more. Gone get Aaron.

  72. Sad Says:

I have no idea what he is talking about. How can all you guys comment on this when you don’t know what he’s talking about? Yes, he was a disappointment. On the other hand, Joker Phillips was a disaster from start to finish. Anyway, all this is old news or no news. Time to look forward!

  73. Showtime Says:

Aaron is the softed player ive ever seen but on any UK uniform ever. ever.

  74. Showtime Says:

Aaron is the softest player ive ever seen put on a UK uniform ever. ever

  75. OhBoyd Says:

    liked to party.

  76. g- rod... Says:

What a loser… This kid didn’t wanna try to do better!!! Ya ever watch him @ a practice? guess now he’s findin’ out LIFE is in front of him now…..

  77. TN Cat Says:

    Who is Aaron Boyd?

  78. Yep Says:

So, for the last three years thousands of fans have criticized Joker for not being head coach material and not being able to develope talent. But, when one football player does, all of a sudden he is a jerk?

  79. John Says:

Whiny crybaby. Good luck in life with that attitude. I’ll not tip you with that attitude even if you are wearing skates at Sonic!

  80. Gary Says:

Whoever posted this garbage needs to be FIRED. PATHETIC

  81. GoCats2010 Says:

He was the one irresponsible enough to get mono during his first training camp. That really turned the coaches off and he never changed that impression that they had of him

  82. Fecesforbrains Says:

Aaron Boyd was a lazy player in hs I watched him slip around in a playoff game against trinity or st x who knows the difference and he was lazy cut his routes short loafed and was sloppy in his route running I was very shocked that he was 5 star or whatever and had majors chasing him… I played with and against much better on a 3a state championship team who never got to play a down if college ball.. Much less have the opportunity to represent our state … AB u were a disgrace to the blue and white get gone shut your pie hole and good effing riddance u lazy no good excuse of a college premier athlete

  83. Booyakasha Says:

#81. He had no talent. 4.9 speed in the SEC is pathetic.

  84. Jetblue Says:

    What a passive aggressive bitch.

  85. Dude Says:

Uk fans being Uk fans in this thread

  86. bobo Says:

I always feel bad for Shane when he’s brought up in Convo’s. I’d take Shane Boyd over Aaron every single time. Shane worked hard for UK and always gave his best effort. He just ended his career on a team that had only 59 scholarship players. That don’t work in the SEC.

Shane did have some talent. Good enough to play in NFL europe, stick around on some practice squads, and play professionally other places besides the NFL.

  87. Meth and Red Says:

Boyd was overrated coming out of HS. Why he mad tho? He got a full ride to a flagship university to sit on a bench and give halfa** effort in practice. Doesn’t seem like a bad deal eh? Maybe he should of taken his talents to a SunBelt school. What a waste of size. He was more concerned with his fashion accessories than putting in work in the gym and on the field. He would have been better suited as Carrie’s assistant on Sex and the City.

  88. bret1555 Says:

First off, I think this is about as poor a choice as AB could have made… He obviously just wasn’t very good. Boyd was just not fast enough to play in the SEC. He said they tried to make him into something he isn’t – I am not sure what he means, he was recruited as a WR and played WR. People saying he should have played TE are missing something – 4.9 is slow for ANY position in the SEC.

That said, a lot of posters are saying he got a “free” this or a “free” that… “I worked my way through school.” Blah, blah, blah. Anyone who doesn’t think these guys earn their educations don’t know how much time college athletes put into their “jobs.”

  89. He Hate Me Says:

    He Hate Me

  90. 2020 Says:

As HORRIBLE as our TERRIBLE receivers were the past 2 seasons, if he had any talent whatsoever, his number would have been called more.

  91. thenamerobdigity Says:

LAZY! His brother got his 4th star.

  92. SevenT Says:

    Sour Grapes?

  93. Jeff Says:

I haven’t read through all the comments but I just wanted to add one comment of my own. To Aaron Boyd: Get your lazy, no good, sorry ass off our campus. Maybe, just…maybe, one day you will realize the opportunity you squandered for 5 years.

    Good Riddance!

  94. Rich Says:

I support you Aaron Boyd, now reach for the stars and be all you can be! Turn that frown upside down. Rub one out. Volunteer at a homeless shelter. Don’t be a rascal, instead be a ray of sunshine. Now where’s that little grin we all came to love while you were here at UK? Baby Jesus knows Aaron, Baby Jesus knows.

  95. Patrick Says:

He is just jealous because he isnt going to get his shot with the Coach Stoops and company to throw up the big numbers in the new offense! Remember what stock he came from-Shane Boyd!

  96. WAAAAAH Says:

Aaron, instead of Twitter next time you should just go straight to http://www.thewambulance.com with any and all complaints.

  97. Stoner Says:

Hey Aaron, maybe if you weren’t a lazy p.o.s and actually knew how to run routes then you might have got some PT. Does this guy really think he could’ve got clock at Oregon? Dude needs to STFU=complete headcase which is likely the real reason why he never played.

  98. Dude Says:

This guy spent more time partying/ trying to hang out w/ rappers and famous people then he did trying to improve on the field. You can tell he had no work ethic and he’s obviously a nut. Deuces!

  99. Dude Says:

49=Aaron Boyd or Shane. Guarentee it.

  100. WalterL Says:

That’s the saddest story I’ve ever heard told.
“Success is when preparation meets opportunity!”
