Damn sure would hate to have to feed some of those boys!!!!! Great Going Coach!
January 28th, 2013 at 5:31 pm
Where’s Woulard, & Swain?? Take Antoine Miles off our board as well as Stafon McCray. They have both committed other places, & I don’t think the interest is there any longer.
January 28th, 2013 at 5:35 pm
Yeah, what happened to me? I thought I was the top target!
January 28th, 2013 at 5:35 pm
Was wondering about Wouldard myself.
January 28th, 2013 at 5:35 pm
Yeah, because these 3* recruits will get us competing at a much higher level in the SEC than the other 3* guys we’ve been getting. I’m so excited to see us maybe compete with Vandy next year.
January 28th, 2013 at 5:42 pm
Woulard got later interest and ultimately an offer from Clemson and is likely to sign there.
January 28th, 2013 at 5:44 pm
Come on guys; it’s obvious from the picture that they ahve to call Asiantii on Tuesday to figure out if he is still on the big board.
January 28th, 2013 at 5:51 pm
Great start for coach Stoops.
January 28th, 2013 at 5:51 pm
Ponzi leader caught — revamp of field now in doubt.
The only positive is plenty of playing time.
Recruiting BIGGER BOARD:
Quick – X
DeMarcus Smith – X
That ‘psych’ Dude – X

Thanks for putting this all in one place for those of us who can’t keep up.

I am hoping the range that makes up three stars is true and that we are in fact getting players at the upper end of the spectrum as opposed to the low end of the 3 star spectrum we have been bringing in every year since the Noah built his boat.

That’s where you can start looking at the offer sheets and multiple sources. A lot of these 3 star kids, like Blue, Hytchye, and Timmons are rated a four star on either ESPN, Rivals, or Scouts, just not all at the same time. They’ve obviously done something to impress scouts at either of the 3 major sources. Secondly, you can look at their offer sheets. These guys are turning down offers from other major schools in power conferences. We’re beating out Miss St, Ole Miss, Vandy, A&M, and Lousiville (hate to admit it, but they’re fresh off of a Sugar Bowl win, they’re fairly legit right now). Prior the story seemed to be that we were getting consensus 3 star recruits across the board, and they were winning battles at Mid. Ten. State, and Texas Southern. These guys are a class above what we’ve been used to here, even if the stars say otherwise. The star ranking, especially for football, is barely a rough guideline for recruiting.

rankings in football mean nothing. all it does is create excitement. there is so much you have to scout in football compared to basketball and its a whole lot more easier to decide if a player is a four star prospect or a 5 star prospect in basketball. for example, randall cobb (***),keenan burton (***),jacob tamme (***), mracus mcclinton (***), rafael little (***) and morgan newton, (**** on rivals) and (*****) on espn and we all know how that turned out. football recruiting with stars right beside their name means nothing. heck tom brady was a two star coming out of high school and he was a beast in college and in the pros. who cares as long as stoops can find talent then we will be alright. just hold your breath for a couple of years and see what he brings in.

I agree with the “stars mean nothing” talk but talent from Florida and Ohio is exciting to hear about regardless. I have a feeling going after big time players will pay off though. Go CATS!
