How does it feel to come into Rupp Arena and score forty points on the defending National Champions? Elston Turner said it was the “number one” memory of his career:
“I was shooting at the shoot around today and I could feel it. It’s something I’ve been wanting for my whole life. …This is definitely one of those games I will remember the rest of my life.”
The loss hurts, but you have to give Elston Turner a hand. What a game.

Give Cal credit for trying to coach. I would just take a seat and wait for this disaster to be over. Besides Noel, they all suck!
January 12th, 2013 at 6:42 pm
Great game for him. Nail in coffin for us. We stink
January 12th, 2013 at 6:42 pm
I honestly think you could take the recruits for next year right now and beat this current Kentucky team. They are young I know and I’m not one of those crazy Kentucky fans that expects a championship every year. However, this team is just plainly not very good right now.
January 12th, 2013 at 6:42 pm
I hope some of these kids leave so they don’t poison next years team
January 12th, 2013 at 6:43 pm
In the phone he is laughing at us. Just sad that opposing players are laughing at us.
January 12th, 2013 at 6:43 pm
Gotta give it to him. It felt like UK only had 1 player on the floor today, Noel. BTW.. Have they found Poythress Yet. I just poured a glass of milk and saw his mug on the carton.
January 12th, 2013 at 6:44 pm
Should be photo

#1 – Harrow has been pretty good as of late. Noel has definitely improved. The others? Not so much…
January 12th, 2013 at 6:44 pm
The SEC is not very good. Understatement?
January 12th, 2013 at 6:46 pm
#9 – if the SEC isn’t very good, what does that make us?
January 12th, 2013 at 6:47 pm
2 – They don’t put nails in coffins in January. UK fans – blowing things out of proportion after losses since the beginning of time
January 12th, 2013 at 6:47 pm
That guy is a 5th year senior. He was in college playing basketball when 3 of our starters were in 8th grade and our best player was in 7th grade.
Youth can’t win on talent alone.
There are no give me games from here on out.
We actually played very well at times, just have to learn how to stop giving the other team 15 point runs. And not allowing one player to go off for 40 of course.
Still think this team gets much better, but obviously we are not a threat to top 25 teams.
January 12th, 2013 at 6:50 pm
“BREAKING NEWS” Poythress has been offered a 50 cent raise and no benefits by Wendy’s International! He may want to think about the offer because at this stage of his game, no NBA for him!!!
January 12th, 2013 at 6:51 pm
HORRIBLE!!
January 12th, 2013 at 6:53 pm
This team is awful. I am usually very positive but not today. I hope the players read comments like mine because I could not say these things face to face. Just not my style.
January 12th, 2013 at 6:54 pm
I liked this class when they were recruited but because they have not performed, I choose to turn on them and want them gone. Warning: I will do the same to next year’s class if needed.
January 12th, 2013 at 6:55 pm
The kid played out of hismind…but we are just not maturing…….could be a long year…..
January 12th, 2013 at 6:56 pm
I would like to see the entire class other than Noel, off the team immediately because they “suck.” I am perfect so I am permitted to judge these players.
January 12th, 2013 at 6:57 pm
Hope they don’t have twitter accounts after this one uk fans will be sending death threats everywhere were not the smartest bunch.I just hope we don’t run cal off today it’s all about getting to the nba not having fans tell you you suck even if u are indeed sucking.
January 12th, 2013 at 7:02 pm
Bottom line is, we have no power forward and no defensive stopper like all of Cal’s teams. Bennett was a great big loss of our recruiting last year. It is what it is. I would much rather be here than anytime with BCG and the last years of Tubby. The sun will come up tomorrow . Louisville has not won a Championship since 1986. We are UK!
January 12th, 2013 at 7:07 pm
First of all, let’s do away with the “I’m not that crazy Kentucky fan that expects to win a championship every year” stuff. That fan is a myth created and perpetuated by a biased media and little brother. We as Kentucky fans expect to COMPETE every year, to be a force, to be respected because we are good every year. That said, we suck this year. Wiltjer is a liability and I think Cal missed on more than he wanted recruiting-wise. We are just plain and simple, a talented man short. BUT… Poythress needs to start playing like he’s got a pair or he needs to ride pine for a long, long time.
my curtrent hope for this season is that Poythress shows up come March and to avoid any further embarrassments like today (or last game). Oh, also that Loserville goes out in the 1st round.
January 12th, 2013 at 7:15 pm
Yes Turner scored 40 on the defending National Champions, but not one of the players that contributed is back on the team. Congratulations on the 40 points but it was against the 2013 10-5 Kentucky Wildcats not the 38-2 2012 team. MKG would have shut you down big man!!!
January 12th, 2013 at 7:19 pm
People that r blaming ap r just plain stupid 12 and 6 in 21 mins cal didn’t play him that’s not ap fault he played stein and Kyle for no good reason cause they did zero. I blame cal for all this by publicly getting on this kid than you have dumb ass puppets that get on the kid cause he didn’t get 20. If you know anything about basketball ap played good when he was in there can’t say the same for stein or Kyle. You idiots on here r why other fan bases think we r stupid thanks ,keep up the good work jack offs. Keep playin hard Alex you will be fine most of the people on this site can come and cut your grass for you and your family in a few years when you’re playing ball and they’re still leaving messages on this site
January 12th, 2013 at 7:33 pm
He was the first opposing player I have ever seen get cheered for his play in rupp
January 12th, 2013 at 7:57 pm
24- The Admiral, David Robinson got a big standing “O” in ’87. 45 pts. 10 blocks.
January 12th, 2013 at 7:58 pm
Referring to this team as the “defending National Champions” is a bit disingenuous.
January 12th, 2013 at 7:58 pm
Almost forgot. We won that game!
January 12th, 2013 at 8:22 pm
#25 – I think I was there for that game! MAN, I’m gettig old!
January 12th, 2013 at 10:22 pm
#23 I agree with you about AP’s numbers. 12 and 6 in 21 would be good for most freshmen. Especially in years past. I’m not sure but
I believe that those numbers were about what P Pat averaged as a freshman. Maybe we are expecting too much from AP. I know he was rated highly coming in but I wonder how many other freshmen in the country are averaging more than him per minutes played.
January 13th, 2013 at 10:05 am
#23 is correct. This team is still in the development stages and there’s a lot of basketball left. This team had a short turn-around between games, and the best player on the opposing team was shooting lights out from everywhere on the court. We can still win our conference and make a deep run in the tourney, even if we’re a bubble team. This team has a lot of talent, and I’m not goin to bash them because unlike most of you on here posting negative comments, I’m a true fan. Seriously, you’re making BBN look terrible.
