Well, the weekend is starting off pretty good for the Cats. 3-star DT/OT Lovell Peterson has just committed to Kentucky. Peterson is part of the Ohio pipeline that was so important for Kentucky to recruit. Stoops has owned the state so far and doesn’t look to be close to done. Here’s a profile I did of Peterson a couple weeks ago after looking at his film:

Height:6’3″
Weight:280 lbs
High School: Wayne (OH)
Overview: With the tandem of Warford and Smith heading for the NFL, there’s a definite void in the interior of the Cats’ offensive line. Peterson, a two-way player in high school (defensive tackle), will play either center or guard at the next level. Looking at his tape, his main objective in the running game is to absolutely punish linebackers… and he does it well. Peterson is an aggressive, interchangeable offensive lineman that would be a great signing. He also recently made a trip to Lexington.
Some other huge news… KSR has learned that Franklin County WR Ryan Timmons has cancelled his Ohio State visit. Timmons has been looking for an offer from OSU for a while and maybe this is him giving up on the process. This is great news, as Kentucky was pretty much neck and neck with Ohio State for his services.

“Stoops has owned the state” I am a UK fan and live in Columbus, but lets not get too carried away. UK will only get the players TOSU doesn’t want. After that, Michigan, ND will get the next level of talent. Once they are finished pillaging the state, UK and the rest of the BIG 10,12 or whatever will fight for the leftovers. That being said, Ohio has a LOT of talent and this kid is a good pickup.

The OSU and The U have been caught cheating and won’t stop. So “THE” is now a negative stereotype instead of a positive one. Kinda makes you think since Hurtt got there it should be The Little Brother Dirty Birds

Recruiting hard in Ohio is a brilliant move. OSU has 25 slots and the State of Ohio has 200+ Division 1 players. Come south a few miles, live in a great college city and play in the SEC.

Owning Ohio? PLEASE. You are getting 3-star players that are left overs from Ohio State, Michigan, and other schools. There was also a recruiting article out on Timmons the other day from Ohio State. OSU already has 22 commitments for this class. They want to add 1 more WR and there are 2 WRs ahead of Timmons on OSUs board. No wonder why he gave up.

15. People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. Since Kentucky is one of 2 basketball programs to get the NCAA death penalty, by your logic UK is one of the biggest CHEATERS in the country. Right?

I hope you guys get Timmons. He’s a decent player, he’s just way down on Ohio State’s list of WR recruits and probably wouldn’t get playing time here anyway. He’ll be a star at Kentucky.

this excites me as much as any football commit we’ve had….the offensive and defensive line’s are where it all starts as far as im concerned. great linemen help everything we do on offense and the initiate the process to stopping everything on defense.
UK has historically had great play makers on both sides of the ball but we’ve always lacked linemen in comparison to the other sec schools….this is a great start. 3 years in a row of 3 and 4 star linemen would legitimize us plain and simple.

9- wanna know who else was 3 stars? Guy by the name of Bjorn Werner… You know, the all american defensive end that is a top 5 pick in the NFL draft? Guess who it was that coached him up? That would be Mr stoops and DJ Eliot. If I were you I’d shut up and be happy.WE ARE KENTUCKY! This is a much needed position and Lovell has great size and speed…

#26 no Jokers failure was coaching and all the players he out recruited crappy non bcs schools to get and than was a lot of his recruits. Bottom line Uk needs to out recruit some decent schools, especially beat out SEC schools that UK have a shot to beat
