The latest Bracketology is out! Joe Lunardi has the Cats as a seven seed in the West Region facing #10 Oregon in Salt Lake City. Should the Cats win that hypothetical matchup, they would play the winner of #2 Gonzaga and #15 UNC-Asheville. His number one seed in the West Region is Arizona.
Also of note: Lunardi only projects four SEC teams to make the tournament, including Ole Miss, which he has in the #12 seed play-in game against Colorado State. Ouch. For the second and third round games in Lexington (March 21 and 23), Lunardi has Louisville as a number one seed potentially facing #8 UCLA in the third round. Also projected to play in Rupp? The East Region’s #2 seed Indiana, who could possibly face #10 North Carolina. Go Heels?
Check out Bracketology in full. Agree? Disagree? I know you’ve got opinions.

January 8th, 2013 at 3:04 pm

January 8th, 2013 at 3:06 pm
Chance to see the Cats AND shred some Wasatch pow? Yes please!
January 8th, 2013 at 3:06 pm
My first reaction is that it is too early for me to even guess.
January 8th, 2013 at 3:08 pm
I love this. Probably one of the easiest routes to the final four you could ask for.
January 8th, 2013 at 3:09 pm
hahahah yeah, I’ll take that bracket. We get to play Tubby AND we get a cakewalk to the FF.
January 8th, 2013 at 3:09 pm
Boy wouldn’t the Zags be unhappy
January 8th, 2013 at 3:12 pm
Also, wonder who UCLA will play in the South regional final?
January 8th, 2013 at 3:15 pm
If the order were UNC Asheville, Oregon, Gonzaga, then it seems more like the path of a 1 or 2 seed.
January 8th, 2013 at 3:15 pm
If this were to hold and Louisville, Michigan and Arizona are 1 seeds, I’ll bet you cash money that a 16 seed wins this year.
January 8th, 2013 at 3:20 pm
Fair enough…Lets move on
January 8th, 2013 at 3:21 pm
it is way too early. let’s see what it look like when we are half way through the SEC schedule. I don’t see us being below a 5 seed but my gut tells me we end up a 3 seed when it is all said and done. but that path does look like a cool one. might not be bad to be the 7 out west.
January 8th, 2013 at 3:23 pm
Horse Hockey. UK will be a 4 seed.
January 8th, 2013 at 3:26 pm
I don’t agree with the seeding, but I’d take that bracket in a heartbeat.
January 8th, 2013 at 3:27 pm
14. Agree with you. I think a 4 is about as good as we can muster this season given our weak conference this year
January 8th, 2013 at 3:28 pm
Hell the way guys nail 3′s against us the Zags would worry me!
January 8th, 2013 at 3:28 pm
I would have that bracket any day.
January 8th, 2013 at 3:31 pm
ESPN just apologized for Bret Musberger’s supposed “offensive” remarks. So, let’s get this straight, one of their commentators compliments a gorgeous woman in the crowd- “We’re sorry. Won’t happen again.” Bobby Knight spreads outright lies about UK and current and former student athletes- crickets. Gotch ESPN- We see ya.
January 8th, 2013 at 3:35 pm
Dana O’Neil has UK as the “ultimate loser” in her new winners & losers article…

Potential matchup with Tubby at 3 seed.
January 8th, 2013 at 3:41 pm
whoa, 7 seed? how the f*** is that possible when i think UK is, at best, a bubble team??
January 8th, 2013 at 3:52 pm
I would take this draw right now even if I knew we would end up a higher seed by the end of the season
January 8th, 2013 at 3:53 pm
I see the Cats about a 5th seed being the SEC is down and we just lose one or two games in league play.
19, here’s the way I look at this, the World Wide leader is scared shatless about them looking like a bunch old varmints drooling over a few nice looking ladies, other than being an old dated codger who the freaking game of basketball has passed by him at 150 MPH 20 years ago. Let us not forget about his interview with Connie Chung with what his view on rape is also.
January 8th, 2013 at 3:54 pm
How can we be on the way down? We have won several in a row/and weren’t we a 10 seed last week?
January 8th, 2013 at 3:59 pm
I’d take that bracket in a heartbeat.
January 8th, 2013 at 4:17 pm
#25… We’ve won 1 in a row.
January 8th, 2013 at 4:19 pm
25: You serious? We have a 1 game winning streak!
January 8th, 2013 at 4:23 pm
Can we go ahead and take that bracket?
January 8th, 2013 at 4:28 pm
What 23 said!
January 8th, 2013 at 4:30 pm
Funny cause this bracket would be far easier than when we were the overall 1 seediest year
January 8th, 2013 at 4:31 pm
Seed*
January 8th, 2013 at 4:32 pm
* last year
January 8th, 2013 at 4:49 pm
Bring on UK; my team will destroy them this year!
January 8th, 2013 at 4:53 pm
That looks too good to be true. I am sure the committee will get really cute and put us in a very challenging spot.
If this is our seeding. There is not many times a 7 seed is a favorite to get to the elite or final four. But this might be an exception
January 8th, 2013 at 5:10 pm
I wouldn’t even mind us getting shipped out west to have that collection of teams in our bracket. Absolutely no teams that scare me in that grouping. Mich St might be a challenge, and Arizona would be tough if they have their zebra 6th man on their side, but if this team continues to develop, we should be up for the challenge. But in reality, look for the NCAA selection committee to get cutesy and put us in an early matchup against Indiana, or possibly in a revenge game against Duke or Louisville.
January 8th, 2013 at 5:50 pm
If cats don’t roll the SEC convincingly, I’m not sure they’ll get much better of a seed.
January 8th, 2013 at 6:00 pm
This team smells of Sweet Sixteen. We need to accept it and chalk up to a team with a ton of talent but no chemistry.
January 8th, 2013 at 7:00 pm
This is an easy bracket, but one UK would never get. We’ll be a 5 seed and get the annual rip job from the nc2a.
January 8th, 2013 at 8:27 pm
That would appear to be the easiest bracket the Cats have ever received. Therefore you know it isn’t legit!
January 9th, 2013 at 12:00 am
Agree with most that the bracket looks easy but honestly I don’t think we could beat Minnesota and Tubby as of right now. Maybe we get better and I change my mind but we don’t beat them today.
January 9th, 2013 at 12:00 pm
PLEASE! Oh PLEASE! I’ll take that seed AND that bracket!
