Ben Bradley picks Auburn

by @ 4:26 pm. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

After keeping fans on pins and needles all day, 4-star JuCo DT Ben Bradley has finally committed to Auburn over Kentucky. From Bradley’s Twitter account:

The news is disappointing, but Kentucky’s late surge for the talented JuCo is encouraging nonetheless. Next?

  1. MadTex Says:

How much $$$ did they offer you Ben???

  2. Under Armour Says:

    Our pockets run deep.

  3. Boogie Thunderbows Says:

Um, isn’t it Auburn University? Glad he was paying attention.

  4. kyle heavy Says:

He will lose 3,000 followers in 5,4,3,2,1…

  5. Hmm Says:

I heard it was because he couldn’t enroll at UK this late. Classes start Wednesday, after all.

  6. Drew Says:

Whatever!!! Im sure we will be OK

  7. KYStout Says:

Being encouraged about a late surge is for the old Kentucky program. This is a new beginning where we expect to get guys like this.

  8. MC Says:

Best of luck. Time to move on.

  9. I Say Says:

I highly doubt Auburn had to pay a 4* juco DT to come play for them, dont be silly.

  10. Catlogic15 Says:

#6. Why would he have taken an official visit to UK this past weekend if he couldn’t enroll?

  11. Catlogic15 Says:

    Er…5 now.

  12. kyle heavy Says:

    9 – Thank you. He’s good… but not THAT good. C’mon man.

  13. BravoBigBlue Says:

7 is exactly right. Everyone needs to lose the loser mentality. Just being close isn’t good enough.

  14. Rockfield, KY Says:

Congrats. Should have come to play for a defensive coach, but it’s your call. #unfollowed

  15. Blue Troll Says:

    5. Classes start at Auburn this Wednesday too.

  16. Hey Says:

Until any kid officially signs, they are fair game. Thats the nature of NCAA Football. Recruiting gets downright Dirty in Football. #UK is going in a better direction.

  17. Hmm Says:

#10, for the same reason Anthony Bennett visited UK, but couldn’t enroll either.

  18. Hey Says:

I meant a better direction compared to last year.

  19. Dribblebucket Says:

Wasted my whole day. Felt really good about our chances.

  20. RickL Says:

Ben Bradley just posted this pic on Twitter: http://twitter.com/IamAmbition98/status/288396703948754944/photo/1

  21. Hmm Says:

“Hearing a little bit on Bradley. Dilemma is when he can enroll. If he can today at UK, he goes to Kentucky. If not, Auburn. Wants UK.”

That is from UK’s official recruiting account.

  22. Blue Troll Says:

This decision has NOTHING to do with enrollment. Auburn and UK both start classes this Wednesday!

  23. Official Tim's Computer Says:

    21. lol @ official recruiting account. That might be the funniest thing I’ve read all day…officially.

  24. Z Says:

    21) Dude, Uk’s official recruiting account. Come on now.

  25. balls Says:

21.) You’re an idiot…there is NO official UK recruiting account. SMH.

  26. Kidnut Says:

Best of luck to the young man, Auburn is a fine choice.

  27. J in Orlando Says:

lol he went to the only SEC team we would’ve beaten last year

  28. tickle Says:

at least we were in the running. remember this last time last year?

  29. Get used to it Says:

If UK is going to be in the hunt for 4* recruits, then get used to losing on most of the better ones, at least for a while. In the past, we weren’t even considered. If we are going to compete for the best, then we are going to butt heads with big time programs (SEC) and we are not going to win all the time. So, get used to being in the game but losing more than winning for the better recruits. But the key is this–at least now UK is in the game and not content to go with only 2* and 3* recruits that are not on the big boys’ radar screens. I wish Mr. Bradley all the best at Auburn and in life.

  30. Cats Says:

Oh well. Hopefully we’ll land Jarran Reed instead

  31. Ted Says:

He may have just wanted to enroll in Veterinary School.

  32. Laker Cat 18 Says:

Some folks need to relax. This is the first year we’ve been somewhat relevant in football recruiting in some time. If we’re on the selection list for some of these guys, it’s an improvement. We’ll get there, give it time.

  33. Windy Sam Says:

    32. UK IS NOT RELEVANT. Come back and talk when UK does not have the LAST PLACE recruiting class in the SEC. By the way, you have less than a month.

  34. yeahright Says:

Yo Ben, it’s Auburn University, not University of Auburn. Just want you to know where you are going. Good luck!

  35. Big Whoop Says:

This is a far cry better than the past. So we lost one because of bureaucracy in admissions. Give Stoops a year to get in early on recruits and we’ll see progress.

  36. Dufuss Says:

Duffus says: Rodney Gardner strikes AGAIN!!
    Over 15 years built Georgia
    now starting in with Auburn.

  37. Huh? Says:

#33 Less than a month to what?

  38. hawkeye tim Says:

Don’t complain or criticize when a recruit doesn’t chose UK. Makes us look terrible.

  39. Recruiter Says:

    37. I think he’s referring to National Signing Day.

  40. big cat Says:

    best of luck young man!

  41. little boy blue... Says:

Less than a month to correct your last place recruiting ranking in the SEC. Hey…Arkansas is #50 that should be easy enough. Then your next target is #37 at Missouri. No easy task…get crackin.

  42. KyKid Says:

Well, at least we are getting beat out of the final 2 by Auburn instead of Austin Peay…

  43. lets see Says:

#29 What does “in the hunt” get you? A gold star? I think Mr. Stoops, Mr. Eliot, et al will soon see that convincing an SEC worthy player to be a Cat is a helluva lot harder than convincing him to come be a Nole! Were there any obligatory “we didn’t want him anyway, he’s only a 4 star recruit” comments in this thread?

  44. Tbradg Says:

Almost seems like he had typed “Kentucky” and had to change it…

  45. Bird in Kentucky Says:

Well can’t get them all, But I am faith in Stoops and the coaching staff. GO CATS!

  46. Jill Massey Says:

This is the beginning of the
    end for Stoops at Kentucky.

  47. Cop Says:

This kid will be locked up in jail before he ever sets foot on auburn campus

  48. WDE Says:

    War eagle baby!

  49. jimlowe7 Says:

Hope he does well. We will get some and lose some. As least we’re in the final two with upper-level FBS schools now instead of lower-level ones. I’ll take 50% of those guys all day!

  50. CoalMinerLodge Says:

What…the roofie milkshakes.pot brownies and middle age groupies couldn’t seal the deal??????????????
