Heat waive (Ha, get it?) Josh Harrellson

by @ 2:41 pm. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

Josh Harrellson’s run with the Miami Heat came to an end today when the defending NBA World Champions waived the former Jared Sullinger slayer.  Harrellson had a non-guaranteed contract, so Miami won’t have to cough up the money for his full-season salary.

Jorts played just 28 minutes in five games with the Heat this season.  He’s now an unrestricted free agent.

Was there anyone else interested in him when he was a FA before? I think someone will probably pick him up and stick him in the D league. Maybe the Lakers, D’Antoni seemed to liked him.

  2. DAMN!! Says:

that sucks, Woody. keep working and find a home somewhere.

  3. JKUK Says:

    He’s welcome back to Kentucky

Sac-town may need a big man pretty soon.

Jorts looks like the leader of the Amish Mafia in that pic!

  6. tyson Says:

I always wonder how much of an NBA’s roster is politics. Jeremy Lin is a perfect example of someone who has the ability to start in the NBA but was kept at the end of the bench because he was not drafted and if he did start he would make scouts and GMs look bad. I wonder if Jorts suffers from this too?

  7. AaronJ Says:

@6 Not as much to do with politics as it is owners wanting a return on their investment from the higher picked players. They will give the guys that were given the most money the most chances to succeed until it is proven that they can’t play.

  8. aengr Says:

Thats all well and good…….but where is the scoop on Ben Bradley!!!!!!!!!

  9. Azubuike's Bicep Says:

  11. asdf Says:

Poor form to be making jokes about a former Cat essentially being fired….

  12. Jus Sayin Says:

Jorts is a legitimate Pick and Pop threat in the NBA. But only a few teams use that in their offense.
New York, Denver, Minnesota, Toronto and, Golden State.

  13. Wildcatsteeler Says:

Not sure how making a joke about a former UK player losing his job is funny.

  14. Love_Josh Says:

I love Josh and hope he catches onto another team, but I cant forgive him. He poked my girlfriend on facebook. Why couldn’t he poke me!

  15. BNClay Says:

Toronto has been trying to trade Barnani, mabye if that happens they will pick him up. He would be cheap and a a pretty much the poor mans Barnani.

  16. statman Says:

  17. mike Says:
