[Moderated by Matt Jones, Drew Franklin and Tyler Thompson]

For the fifth week in a row, your University of Kentucky Wildcats are unranked in the AP college basketball poll. The Cats received 27 votes, good enough for 32nd in the country.
Duke and Michigan are still holding down the top two spots as the only unbeaten teams in America that didn’t have to cheat against Colorado.

Didn’t realize ‘Cuse was your favorite team, Drew.

January 7th, 2013 at 1:33 pm
If you look real hard you’ll see that there is 3 unbeaten teams.
January 7th, 2013 at 1:33 pm
UCLA got more votes, @$!&#*!

#4, “…unbeaten teams in America that didn’t have to cheat against Colorado. “
January 7th, 2013 at 1:39 pm
#6… Wyoming is undefeated too, but I’m sure you knew that. Drew, apparently, didn’t know that either.
January 7th, 2013 at 1:41 pm
Wait til March.
January 7th, 2013 at 1:41 pm
We haven’t beaten ANYONE….and we’d be ranked had we not lost to Baylor…all other losses are equivilant to the same record as OSU….
We’ll be fine…time to steam roll the SEC now to gain back some respect.
January 7th, 2013 at 1:44 pm
Are we supposed to be outraged? We’ve lost 4 games. What do you expect?
January 7th, 2013 at 1:46 pm
Dang, I guess Virginia Commonwealth and Wyoming would flat blow us out!
January 7th, 2013 at 1:47 pm
#7, duly noted.
January 7th, 2013 at 1:50 pm
Ok but Sparty really…..with loses vs UConn,UTubb and Miami?
January 7th, 2013 at 1:51 pm
we have actually dropped since coming close at Louisville on their home floor and securing a 52 point blowout against E Michigan. Would have thought the Lousiville game might have garnered a bit more respect..but guess not.

Breaking news!!!!! According to the Independent Florida Alligator, the SEC championship is Florida basketball’s to lose. http://www.alligator.org/sports/article_fc7bc65e-58d0-11e2-8952-0019bb2963f4.html
Don’t they teach grammar and writing at UF?
January 7th, 2013 at 1:55 pm
Why is KSR ignoring this?

I don’t get how Ohio State is at 15. They just got drilled by Illinois for 19 points on Saturday and Illinois just got beat by unranked Purdue. Plus Missouri beat Illinois by 9 about a week before that. Ohio States other two losses were to Duke by 5 and Kansas by 8. In the voice of the guy that played hand ball with Tom Hanks in the movie BIG, I don’t get it I don’t get it.
January 7th, 2013 at 2:00 pm
#16, is that a serious question? Did Rand Pauls son just sign his letter of intent to play at UK?
January 7th, 2013 at 2:04 pm
16-so what. i don’t know him, never heard of him, and as far as i know he’s not a ranked bball player
January 7th, 2013 at 2:07 pm
17- I’ve stopped getting frustrated at these polls. There is nothing we can do about it but keep winning. The voters OBVIOUSLY do not look objectively at these teams when ranking them (hence a SIX spot drop AFTER THE UL game- which continues to boggle my brain). If they did- this poll would look immensely different.
January 7th, 2013 at 2:08 pm
good. love the disrespect this team is getting. hopefully more fuel to motivate them. do work, cats.
January 7th, 2013 at 2:09 pm
cincinnati is still ranked although they haven’t beaten a ranked opponent and have lost to st johns and n mexico, who is ranked below them??
January 7th, 2013 at 2:13 pm
No one on that list worries me. Come March, I think we’ll be better than every team listed there whether the AP recognizes it or not.
January 7th, 2013 at 2:13 pm
#16 maybe because we’re not all a bunch of tax loving communist bastards like yourself?
January 7th, 2013 at 2:17 pm
@16 maybe bc this is Kentucky SPORTS Radio. Last time I checked daily news searches had to be paid for at the HL
January 7th, 2013 at 2:21 pm
@16-it’s not “Real News” for BBN. Take your euro links somewhere they might matter, if you can find such a site. I assure this story does not matter here.
January 7th, 2013 at 2:26 pm
#16 This is a sports site, why do you even come here? Go to a political website and post your garbage
January 7th, 2013 at 2:40 pm
B F D, we talking basketball! BB champions are determined by a year-end tournament (you may have heard of it, MARCH MADNESS) I’m sure many of the pollsters think if they ignore UK, they will go away.
January 7th, 2013 at 2:46 pm
Hmmm, saw Minnesota’s game last night. Tubby finally has no problems, good chemistry, no injuries and a team that would likely beat UK at the moment. UK is a top 25 team, and will be before the year is over and very dangerous, particularly as their seed will be mediocre and they will again face a top seed in the Sweet 16 a la 2010. As long as Harrow continues developing this team will really be a threat. But I so hope they don’t play Minnesota, which would be a typical NCAA ploy.
January 7th, 2013 at 2:48 pm
Can we retire the phrases “Do work” and “Do work, son”?.
Also, no one gives a shit about Rand Paul’s son. Probably another spoiled doctor’s son thinking he’s above the rules. This is a SPORTS site #16. Go lick a hairy sack.
January 7th, 2013 at 2:48 pm
Correction – 2011, Ohio State. An ugly draw they will be quite capable of winning through to the FF.
January 7th, 2013 at 3:01 pm
We deserve our current ranking (or lack thereof. We have 4 losses and have not beaten any good teams with the exception of a mediocre Maryland team. What I don’t get is how Ohio State is still ranked #15. They have 3 losses, the most recent was an ass-whoopin and they too have not beaten anyone good.
January 7th, 2013 at 3:18 pm
Wyoming not being ranked again is bs.
January 7th, 2013 at 3:19 pm
VCU would thrash most of those teams.
January 7th, 2013 at 3:23 pm
No one gives a shit about Rand Paul much less his son.
January 7th, 2013 at 4:22 pm
#21 – Disrespect? Hardly. Do you see even one 4-loss team in the top 25? Nope. We deserve our current ranking as it is. If we had beaten Baylor I’d say we should probably be ranked but we didn’t. Although we did show improvement against Louisville, a loss is a loss and given the other teams records right now, its hard to imagine putting a 4-loss team ahead of them with no real good wins other than Maryland.
January 7th, 2013 at 4:25 pm
Losing WILL get you unranked. Is this some surprise?
January 7th, 2013 at 5:36 pm
Wonder who Mich st and oh sts 3 loses are ….bull shit
January 7th, 2013 at 11:27 pm
Once you drop out of the top 25, there’s a stigma… like the people that voted for you feel stung, like they were cheated. You really have to impress them to work your way back into their hearts.
