I can’t wait to hear about renovations this week… Congrats to KSR in the ratings book! Did you all beat Sue Wylie in Lexington? I think she may have to downgrade her fur coats if you all keep this up!

Its a spread the flu cake…once you blow out the candles and cover the cake in germs, give everyone a slice of your disease. I really hate office cakes.

Wow, thanks for the scoop G-Unit. Hope you’re wrong!
January 7th, 2013 at 10:20 am
22 According to NCAA rules, UNC and Duke are allowed to do whatever is necessary to stay elite and keep players eligible…bottom line is if they keep digging it will come down to stripping titles from both schools…they will not do that
January 7th, 2013 at 10:21 am
Are you talking about WKRD 790?
January 7th, 2013 at 10:21 am
Ratings or no ratings, Mr. Lemond needs to find a radio show better suited to his strengths, or KSR needs to find ways to access them. Parroting Matt back to Matt doesn’t add anything to the conversation. I am sure Ryan has areas of expertise (Xs and Os? Everyman perspective? Stat geek?) but KSR hasn’t found them. Work it out, boys.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:22 am
Just read a little article about Royce White and can’t get the A-Team and BA Baracus out of my head.

January 7th, 2013 at 10:23 am
Whatever happened to our lunch that was planned months ago????
January 7th, 2013 at 10:24 am
Ryan is great – wouldn’t be the same show without him!
January 7th, 2013 at 10:25 am
Matt, Please let your listeners know about the NBA2Lou event being held at Village Host Pizza & Pub (Lexington) on Thursday before the UK-Vandy game! Great food and drink specials, goes from 6-8 pm!
January 7th, 2013 at 10:25 am
Can we discuss the likelyhood that Ben Bradley will commit to UK?
January 7th, 2013 at 10:25 am
JSR, John Short Radio. Forget about KSR
January 7th, 2013 at 10:26 am
The thing that UK has going for them in the Asiantii Woulard saga:
He wants to play in the spread
Has a teammate committed and 2 friends are big UK leans
Mom and Dad want Kentucky
Also Florida is allotted 28 schollys- Have given out 26. MacKenzie Alexander has high interest in UF, BUT Mom has stated she wants the brothers to go somewhere where they both can play. UF has no interest in Makenro, however if they take them both, they have nothing available for Asiantii. IF UF takes Asiantii, we could land both Alexander twins and like I said, Mom really likes UK.
Overall, UK still in GREAT position for Woulard. Woulard will be wearing UK blue.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:26 am
John Short with the rare double okey dokey.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:26 am
34- Very low. Been in love with Auburn for a long time…
January 7th, 2013 at 10:26 am
I play a little mono y mono too…
January 7th, 2013 at 10:27 am
I tuned in to listen to KSR not the John Short Show:)
January 7th, 2013 at 10:27 am
dont forget cal put harrelson and orton in the NBA
January 7th, 2013 at 10:27 am
Did anyone else notice how nice a website/sports network Hytchye’s high school has?
It looks like Stoops’ D is already going to be way more talented than last year’s. If we can get Bradley and maybe 1 or 2 more decent players to fill holes, we’ll be a whole lot more solid.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:28 am
Matt doesn’t need to jump over lemon for doing nothing wrong. I think
Think he adds a lot to show.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:29 am
Greatest KSR Show accomplishment is that Shannon finally got Line 4 to stop dropping calls.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:30 am
I know Evan Daniels from college. He is NOT anti-UK and is a good guy. And scout.com is the best site for basketball recruiting because of him.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:31 am
Evan Daniels also said Georgetown for Nerlens, Duke for John Wall, and UK for Shabazz
dude is about as accurate as Matt is….
January 7th, 2013 at 10:31 am
Daniels has no reason to think Wiggins will commit to Fl St other than the fact that his camp releases nothing in the way of news and the fact he wanted his name on some news…nothing has changed with Wiggins and UK makes the most sense, although a Randle commit could create a talent bottleneck Wiggins’ people may not want to deal with
January 7th, 2013 at 10:32 am
Any chance vandy is awful enough that we avenge the 41pt ’08 loss to this year?
January 7th, 2013 at 10:32 am
Evan is pretty spot on with evaluations, but he has been wrong alot on players’ schools.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:33 am
Evan daniels is a chatty kathy
January 7th, 2013 at 10:34 am
Love this song!
Fresh Prince… Home Improvement… Simpsons… Roseanne… All long theme songs… Full House…
January 7th, 2013 at 10:34 am
Kenny loggins did holiday road. Lampoons vacation
January 7th, 2013 at 10:34 am
Barenaked Ladies did the theme song for ‘Big Bang Theory’.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:35 am
Love and Marriage – Frank Sinatra – Married with Children
January 7th, 2013 at 10:35 am
Don’t eat that cake!
January 7th, 2013 at 10:35 am
I don’t think TV shows have theme songs like they used to. Nothing you can sing along with. Everyone knows the Cheers theme song.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:35 am
Ryan’s best quality is unintentional humor
January 7th, 2013 at 10:36 am
Different Strokes, Facts of Life, BJ And the Bear, Lobo, The Love Boat…that hits the demographic you need
January 7th, 2013 at 10:36 am
I am pretty sure Lindsay Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac did the Holiday Road song
January 7th, 2013 at 10:36 am
Matt, Kenny Loggins song “This is it” was the precursor song to One Shining Moment when the Final Four was on NBC.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:37 am
uhh…was Portland the best spot for Larry Steele…?
January 7th, 2013 at 10:37 am
Joker and his staff didn’t recruit a lot of very good kids… He just moved on past them — SEE KYLAN NELSON at LAFAYETTE. That’s a name to watch
January 7th, 2013 at 10:37 am
I like Ryan alot, but did he eat paint chips when he was kid?
January 7th, 2013 at 10:37 am
Matt ,Ryan is your Ed McMahan
January 7th, 2013 at 10:37 am
52. Lindsey Buckingham, Fleetwood Mac, wrote the them song Holiday Road.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:38 am
Ryan is fantastic for the show…just don’t let him host or you get too many shower stories
January 7th, 2013 at 10:38 am
I think Joker passed on the guy because he was already committed to South Florida, but I’m just guessing
January 7th, 2013 at 10:39 am
Yes, he did
January 7th, 2013 at 10:39 am
Speaking of renovation, what happened to the KSR website overhaul?
January 7th, 2013 at 10:40 am
UK is currently unranked (and I understand why), but is the eighth favorite to win the championship at 12-1. Vegas knows.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:41 am
Ryan is the highlight of the show. He needs his own 15-minute segment to talk about whatever he wants to.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:41 am
Dusty Mills intimidated students at the student center cafeteria I thought
January 7th, 2013 at 10:42 am
There’s also the Houston and UAB losses
January 7th, 2013 at 10:43 am
When were you going to talk about the renovations to commonwealth Stadium?
Thanks
January 7th, 2013 at 10:44 am

January 7th, 2013 at 10:49 am

January 7th, 2013 at 10:49 am

January 7th, 2013 at 10:50 am

January 7th, 2013 at 10:54 am
Paul Revere and the Raiders are ten times better than the best country!
January 7th, 2013 at 10:55 am
Should have played Paul Revere by the Beastie Boys, much better.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:56 am
Paul Revere by the Beastie Boys. Much better choice in this situation…..or any other.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:56 am
how about some miss you by the rolling stones dedicated to MKG!!
January 7th, 2013 at 10:56 am
I like Paul Revere’s rendition of “One if by land and two if by sea”
January 7th, 2013 at 10:56 am
Cris Carter played basketball & Football at OSU
January 7th, 2013 at 10:57 am
Ben Brdley committ in 5
January 7th, 2013 at 10:57 am
There’s a bunch of ways to say “louisville” but the say this idiot says it on the flipping houses commercial is NOT one if them
January 7th, 2013 at 10:59 am
That song sounded like “(I’m not your) Stepping Stone” by the Monkees not Paul Revere and the Raiders…
January 7th, 2013 at 10:59 am
Love Paul Revere. Mat you are yelling again.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:00 am
South Carolina’s Ellington is very good in basketball. He started at PG as a freshman and averaged 12.8 ppg that year, making the SEC All-Freshman team. He has averaged nearly 12 ppg in two seasons. He was the team’s second-leading scorer last season. He is one of the main players on that team and just rejoined them last week after the Michigan football game.

January 7th, 2013 at 11:04 am
How can you be arguing over music selection on the 224th anniversary of the first U.S. Presidential election?
January 7th, 2013 at 11:09 am
Tony is correct in so many ways.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:11 am
Its cool to say something to the friend, the friend just doesnt need to say anything to the wife….thats where the bad feelings come in!
January 7th, 2013 at 11:11 am
You’re comments are completely OK until they are officially married. You don’t involve yourself in marriages. Put forth your best efforts to avoid the wedding or help the relationship.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:11 am
So what you are saying, in this day and age, you believe the notion of “speak now or forever hold your piece” is antiquated?
January 7th, 2013 at 11:11 am
You say that about a friends wife you wont have a friend for long
January 7th, 2013 at 11:12 am
My ex g/f’s mom told me that she is treating me badly… and I could do better. We didn’t last much longer after that.

January 7th, 2013 at 11:12 am
I disagree. A guy may get mad if a friend says something bad about his wife, but it’s not something you can’t get past — especially if the guy is a good friend and is trying to show he cares about you. The guy probably figures he doesn’t need Vanetti to be his friend anyway if Tony wants to be such a little beotch.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:12 am
It’s a weird double standard. Men telling their buddy usually ends up being a bad thing. But I’m sure women talk openly about each others spouses everyday.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:13 am
always be positive about your friends wife….like man your so lucky…she is still a great kisser…
January 7th, 2013 at 11:13 am
Greg Paulus played both. Just not at the same time.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:13 am
I think its OK to say something to your friend when they are dating but when they get married its too late to say something
January 7th, 2013 at 11:13 am
You know whats better for me than I do? Sounds like a liberal opinion.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:13 am
dick vitales love for Notre Dame makes me sick….
January 7th, 2013 at 11:13 am
I would say, “Your wife does not talk about sports enough. She gets side track on pretending they are a media psychologist. She should talk more UK sports.”
January 7th, 2013 at 11:13 am
One thing you DON’T do is call your friends’ wife ugly.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:13 am
DJ must have a pretty understanding wife to let him go with you on a 2 week baseball road trip.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:13 am
114 is right.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:14 am
All women are “wacked out crazy”? I take back my previous comment in support of Ryan – #32 for those keeping score.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:14 am
Ben Bradley is currently visiting Auburn and will be announcing for UK during his time there? I don’t see it happening.

Had a friends wife I wasn’t found of, waited it out and she got better. Bigger question is if your parent remarried someone you don’t like do you tell them?
January 7th, 2013 at 11:15 am
119- That was yesterday.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:16 am
It’s 2013… that’s my point of view.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:17 am

Under the proposal, coaches from other teams would not be allowed to contact students on another team.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:18 am
If an athlete keeps his/her academics at the proposed standard level, no problem with transferring, even multiple times. The thing is most transfers have trouble keeping up studies. You can leave any job for any other job in your professional life. Your employer moves on and if they really miss you, they will learn what they could have done to keep you or avoid future defections.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:18 am
You think rival fans hate Cal now, imagine if he started recruiting their best players on top of their best recruits.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:20 am
If the transfer rule that Matt is talking about is allowed there should definitely be restricted contact periods. Coaches should not be allowed to contact kids at other schools during the playing season. Would make for huge distractions for players and coaches.

“All women are wacked out crazy.” This will make #1 on the Friday review of “What Ryan Said.”

January 7th, 2013 at 11:20 am
GUNS? Department of Fish and Wildlife, I’d say. Duh.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:21 am
I too reverse my opinion of Ryan. Pretty dumb thing to say Ryan.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:24 am
Jaquan Lyle’s Evansville Bosse team plays in Owensboro on Jan. 25th. A bunch of us OHS Red Devil UK fans are going to show up and show Lyle some love. I don’t know where this kid is ranked but let me tell you that I would love to see Lyle wear the blue and white. This kid can BALL!!!!!
January 7th, 2013 at 11:25 am
Give Ryan a break. He was just kidding — kind of.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:27 am
carol – my apologies. i meant all women but my great friend carol!!!
January 7th, 2013 at 11:28 am
I agree with Matt on this situation
January 7th, 2013 at 11:29 am
Love listening to these people fall all over themselves trying to come up with any sort of legit reason athletes shouldn’t be allowed to transfer w/o penalty.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:30 am
Delk for 3 – just hope my wife didn’t hear it. nice to meet you last week
January 7th, 2013 at 11:30 am
Perks such as free education, free food, free housing, free books, plus stipends.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:30 am
I can’t understand why so many people want these kids to be controlled like they’re property.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:30 am
Well great we are cool then.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:32 am
Restrictions on transfers actually shields the young athletes from being manipulated from the many different “program boosters” and other coaches that may work the system to their benefit. Could possibly lead to more NCAA violations.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:33 am
What about the commitment that the school makes when they offer a scholarship? I understand the caller that speakes of integrity. Kids should not “always” get what they want
January 7th, 2013 at 11:33 am
College student athletes get paid a general cost of living stipend each month due to the fact that they cannot work due to their hectic schedule.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:33 am
Disagree on transfer somewhat….A coach makes a committment to you when he offers you a scholarship, so to samll schools this would be a disadvantage because lets say a guy at EKU or Morehead has a break out year then he decides to transfer to and ACC Big East school or something like that then that small University is getting punished for taking the chance on the kid and now there gone….
January 7th, 2013 at 11:33 am
transfer subject, is being beaten to death.
I don’t agree with Matt, but there isn’t a argument for it that makes sense other than, why not. Also there isnt one against it other than they aren’t being paid etc.
And I may be wrong, some grants, scholarships for students are tied to schools, you can’t leave school a for school b and keep the scholarship for school a.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:33 am
If this rule goes into effect, does Cal essentially just accept applications and pick the best transfer candidate from the pool of applicants. I’m not sure that he would contact players from other teams and try to talk them into leaving school. Will you have to declare to some pool of possible transfers in order to be contacted?
January 7th, 2013 at 11:34 am
153- Can you take a girl on a date with a free education? And aside from no immediate tangible benefit for their services to the university, they’re also essentially prohibited from having a job. System is rigged against the athletes. The scholarships, meals, stipends, etc is just a way to avoid being seen as a complete exploitation.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:34 am
Everytime I hear ‘Use Me’, I think of JT.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:36 am
Matt, I couldn’t disagree more. College athletes are very well taken care of. No they don’t get a paycheck but they get free tuition, free housing, free meals, and free clothes. Compare that to the student who doesn’t get a scholarship and you can see the value of what they receive. Also if you allow free transfer, then you’ll see the sharks come for blood. I don’t think it’ll affect UK much because most of our guys are one and done’s. But I think things will get nasty on the low down, especially in college football. Having to set a year keeps those things in check. I do believe a kid should be allowed to transfer if a coach leaves or the program commits violations and gets on probation.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:37 am
Matt, with you on transfer issue. What would Curt Flood do? Compare and contrast his situation to today’s college basketball player. His was a landmark action, but seems to be forgotten in this debate.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:37 am
I honestly think Harrow ends up a first round pick by the end of the season. I think he’s going to end having a much better season than people are thinking right now.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:38 am
152 — You too man. I really enjoyed watching that show as it was kind of an all-star collection with Woo, JT, and Handsome Jimmy. I’ll come to another show eventually.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:38 am
I brought the cake! It has a special ingredient! Get the toilet paper ready!
January 7th, 2013 at 11:39 am
So you like that cake, huh?
January 7th, 2013 at 11:40 am
The inability of people to step out of context and evaluate a situation in a broader perspective really hinders progress. Not an earth shattering observation, but still hard to take.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:40 am
Duke has 3 number one picks – most in NBA draft history. UK, UNC, IU, UCLA, Michigan, Maryland all tied with 2 #1 picks
January 7th, 2013 at 11:41 am
Jared has the Scooby laugh down to a T.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:42 am
Does the Transfer rule apply to Football as well?
January 7th, 2013 at 11:42 am
What really frustrates me about Joker is that he didn’t believe we could get guys like that at UK. Additionally, by honoring his contract, we are paying Joker to recruit against us.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:43 am
Matt, since the Wizards will most likely have the #1 pick, who do you think in college would be best for them and Wall?
January 7th, 2013 at 11:44 am
NBA #1′s
Duke has three: Art Hayman in ’63, Brand, and Irving are the other two.
Slurry of schools with 2 #1′s.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:44 am
Wait, what year is Jon Hood? UK says he is a RS JR.

PLEASE let there be a KSR live blog of the Bachelor premiere!
January 7th, 2013 at 11:45 am
Wouldn’t it be great if they had some type of technology that could record shows so you could watch them later when they interfere with other shows?
January 7th, 2013 at 11:45 am
Woulard is still high on UK. Woulard wants to play in the spread. UF only has 2 MAYBE 3 schollys left which works against them. Jeff Badet is someone he wants to play with and UF doesnt have a scholly to offer Badet. Also he is good friends with Blake McClain who is a UK Committ. Plus Mom and Dad absolutely love UK.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:45 am
Matt’s night:
Jammin’ to One Direction and watching the Bachelor…. Sounds like fun
January 7th, 2013 at 11:46 am
170, I see where you’re coming from. However very few schools pull in the money from athletics like UK does. You really have a handful (literally) of college athletic programs who turn a profit. So how are schools like Murray St. Eastern Michigan, WKU, and Florida Atlantic supposed to pay all their athletes when the department runs a deficit? I know everyone thinks its ok to operate in a deficit nowadays, but it’s NOT!! Yes, UK could do this but I venture to say 90% of college programs could not come close to affording it.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:46 am
Teams with more than 1 number one pick
Cincinnati 2
Duquesne 2
Georgetown 2
Houston 2
Indiana 2
Kansas St 2
Kentucky 2
Maryland 2
North Carolina 2
Purdue 2
UCLA 2
Utah 2
West Virginia 2
Duke 3
I Hate Duke
January 7th, 2013 at 11:46 am
inlinefor9 – i agree with you about Harrow. The SEC is really bad, and Harrow is gonna start to shine. The draft is down this year, so he’ll be a first round pick. he won’t play as much next year behind Harrison, so unless he wants to sit a lot next year and play as a senior…he’ll go
January 7th, 2013 at 11:47 am
Paging Ben Bradley….
January 7th, 2013 at 11:49 am
Overall NBA Draft Picks
Kentucky: 105
UCLA: 105
North Carolina: 103
Duke: 79
Kansas: 76
Indiana: 71
Louisville: 63
Arizona: 62
Syracuse: 62
Florida State: 41
January 7th, 2013 at 11:49 am
#184 He has improved greatly ever since returning. He’s around #7 nationally in assist ratio. If he continues to play that way, shoot constistly, and continue to become more aggressive on D, he’s going to end up a 1st round guy in a weak draft.
After Harrison, we have Muiday likely coming in the following year. If he doesn’t go this year, he won’t be starting the year after Harrison either.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:49 am
The reason that Joker didn’t recruit this guy at UK is because he only found out about him after you guys mentioned him on KSR.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:50 am
If they change the transfer rule, they will make contacting a player at another school a high-major violation
January 7th, 2013 at 11:51 am
I thought Ryan was the butler
January 7th, 2013 at 11:52 am
Pete Thamel, Jeff Goodman, Pat Forde, etc. are already criticizing Cal for the new transfer rule.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:54 am
Pitino, asked Rod Rhodes to leave at Kentucky in 96 for Ron Mercer…. I am pretty sure that helped in getting Mercer

Vincent D’onofrio…he plays a genius the verge on having a mental breakdown
January 7th, 2013 at 11:55 am
If kids are allowed to xfer it would kill the mid-major teams because any kid that blows up and has a great year would xfer to one of the major programs. Their would be no more cinderell stories.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:56 am
Vincent D’Onofrio is the actor.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:56 am
Very good comparison from that caller about Matt and that character from Law and Order: Criminal Intent. I can totally see it!
