I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Evan Daniels believes that Andrew Wiggins will commit to Florida State. The day after the #1 Center in America committed to UK, the #1 player in America is giving #BBN some bad vibes.
While it is indeed bad news, let’s think of this glass half full: 1. This is nothing official, just Evan Daniels’ opinion. 2. Kentucky still has signed a stellar class and Julius Randle’s recruitment is still wide open.

I know we have 5 awesome players coming in next year. But Wiggins was the key piece. We will be loaded but winning the title without Wiggins will be much tougher. Randle also wants to be the man. He is rumored to be leaning toward Texas.

9. you’re a dumbass. FSU is awful. When Wiggins went on his official visit to Tallahassee Florida beat them 72-47 and it wasn’t even that close. It’s Shabazz all over again only FSU has zero basketball history. It would be a complete waste of his talent. He’ll regret it when we’re hanging banner number 9 (or possibly #10).

You can’t fault the kid for wantin to go to school where his parents did, but I hope he realizes he will have basically zero national exposure and will not develop the way he could at UK. I know they have said the spotlight could be a problem, but to be considered the next Lebron hes just goin to have to get used to it bc it he will be in it all the time in the NBA. Honestly, I’d like to have him, but it’s not like we need him. We are just fine with the class we have.

Want this kid as much as any UK fan, but if we don’t get him, and even if we don’t get Randle, how could BBN be the least bit upset. we have a stellar class as it is NOW…and then add in who might come back. Would have to think Wiltjer and Harrow for sure. Throw in at least 1 of WCS, Goodwin or Poythress and we are in more than good shape.

All Evan said was FSU if his recruitment ended today. Last i checked there was no announcement set for tomorrow. You can ask him the same question next week and it may change. What’s the big deal?

From what I was told, Wiggins and his camp feel Cal has too much talent coming in. They don’t feel like he can showcase his skils without having the ball in his hands most of the game. Daniels has posted something similar on premium boards as well.

As much as I would love to have Wiggins, it’s just not going to happen. The pressure from his parents is very high for him to go to FSU. He can go there and get his 30 shots a game and be the man. Truth is that either him or Randle is a huge get and we will be fine next season. IN CAL WE TRUST!

Folks, be very careful what you post. Odds are Wiggins is reading this stuff. As someone else said, stay “classy”. I’ve seen Wiggins play several times and he is in no way selfish. As to what his camp feels that may lead away from UK but the kid himself is great and he is a team player. Be thankful for what we’ve got and if we don’t get him well we never had him anyway so don’t fret.
Let it play out, I’m sure Cal has given him all the pros and cons, as he should. At the end of the day I think it will be tough for him to go to FSU because deep down he knows they really don’t have a legit shot to win a title, even with him. So be classy and wait please.

Good luck to Wiggins if true. He’s a stud and will do well at FSU. While I’d love to have him, UK isn’t for everyone.
He will average 25 a game next year and go to the pros and won’t ever see the NCAA tournament. If that’s his motivator and he doesn’t place a high level of importance on college success, then good for him.
Worst thing is UK fans start acting like the jealous ex girlfriend.
We have one of, if not the, best recruiting classes in history. With him or Randle or without either, we are going to be terrifying next year.

5 yrs ago under Gillispie UK was getting 3 star players. Now we are so spoiled that we get upset if the #1 player doesn’t come here. It’s his life, his decision. Wiggins doesn’t owe us(UK) a dime! Can’t get them all. There are two more REALLY good players left in Gordon and Randle….. Let’s wait and see how this plays out! UK4EVER!!

Good Lord People – Evan Daniels is often wrong – even if Wiggin’s folks told him that there are so many games played prior to an announcement that it would be hard to believe. He certainly MAY go to FSU – it’s clear that his folks want him to represent their alma mater. However, STOP talking bad about a kid that most of you wouldn’t recognize in a line up (at least a tall lineup). We really feel the need to jump on a kid because Evan Daniels gives his opinion? That’s embarrassing and is exactly what I would be putting in front of the kid (who doesn’t appear to be a showtime kind of kid) and saying “this is what UK fans are really like” if I were Hamilton.

any other year this kid would have been our first signee. Unfortunately, he reclassified late after we already had commitments from 5 top 30 players. Now we have 6 signees and can probably expect 3 or so guys back from this years team. If you think about it from a player’s perspective, Florida State makes a lot of sense at this point. He is not selfish if he goes there. Good luck to him…….we have a national championship class.

Everyone settle down, Evan Daniels has incorrectly picked against UK how many times now. Also, with OR without him we are going to win a title and he will be a number 1 pick. Several months ago, wiggins was a ky lean and opened up for more recruit visits other than uk and fsu. He is by far the best prospect and I believe to have a talent level between Kobe, lebron and nearly like Jordan. I would go on to say that what separates talent is winnIng and that takes some luck. Simply said uk lays out a road map to develop a legacy. Virtually every athlete in every team sport figures out that winning alone cannot happen only to come up short. What uk has is a no brainier especially if you are as talented as this kid. The comment coach makes “I can’t hide you” applies when your good too.
I am expecting 2 of 3 players. Randle likes coach cal and verbalized jokingly if he is hurt can be an assistant and made a comment of playing with Andrew Harrison. I expect him to commit.
Gordon will go to Washington if wiggins commits to uk. I am very surprised by Evan Daniel’s thoughts and he has been wrong twice about uk recruits recently. In fact, I think we are making in roads again with wiggins with cal again at his games

I haven’t believed we would get Wiggins for a while now. I’m mostly surprised by the amount of uk fans that do still think we will get him. At this point it just doesn’t feel like its going to happen. If wiggins had stayed in ’14 I think we were a lock given what we are going to lose after next year and Wiggins ability to come in and be a STAR but next years team is loaded top to bottom and while he’d be the best player on the team it doesn’t seem like a situation that appeals to him. He wants to be a big fish in a little pond. FSU can offer that and UK can’t.
Good luck to him if he does decide to go to FSU but right now I really don’t see him coming to UK regardless and as crazy as it sounds we dont’ need him.
I’ll take Randle to join the Harrisons, Lee, Young, Johnson, and Willis… thats more than enough talent to win the title, especially when paired with WCS, Harrow, and Wiltjer

First, Wiggins is a great fit for whatever team gets him. Same for Randle. But I don’t get the desperation here.
How many basketballs do we get to use next year? Harrison,Harrison,James Young,Dakari,Marcus Lee are all phenoms. Wiggins is going to be a superstar and I’d love to see him in blue, but it’s not like he’s a make or break recruit for us. Randle would be great to have too, and if it happens that’d be great. If not, we still have one of the best recruiting classes in history.

Look Wiggins is the best player so if he chooses FSU it does not make him the best player. That being said UK is not for everyone and if he doesn’t want to be here and be everyone’s Super Bowl and play in front of packed houses that is OK. I understand his family wanting him to go to their alma mater. I still hope he comes to UK but I would ecstatic if we got Gordon or Randle as well. If it is shots he wants he needs to look no further than Davis and MKG to see that shots are not always the number one ticket to being a top pick. I wish him well where ever he goes as long as he is not playing the cats.

I said weeks ago that Dakari Johnson was going to UK. I also said that Wiggins will go to Florida State, Randle to Texas, and Gordon to Arizona. These are from reliable sources that are well connected, not just off the top of my head.

I also say we will not get Gordon but have a decent shot @ Randle. You heard it here first about Wiggins & now I have enlightned you on the other recruits.

All Evans Daniels said, when asked to predict who was gonna get Wiggins, was “as of today FSU,” or something to that effect. It was just his opinion. Nothing more. I hate how when a recruit goes somewhere else some of our fans act like it says something about his character or work ethic. these are 17yo kids that none of us know personally, how about we let them decide what’s best for themselves. he’s a great player regardless and we will be a great team next year, regardless. to those of you who adopt this attitude, please stop making the rest of us look bad, you moronic f*ckwits.

Cal and Orlando Antigua were supposedly watching Wiggins play this weekend. I’m sure he wouldn’t be doing that if Wiggins recruiting was over. In the recruiting world with Cal, it isn’t over til its over. Remember Terrence Jones? Everybody quit jumping off cliffs. Even if he does go to FSU, we still have great options in Gordon and Randle.

I’m not going to say we need him but would of really liked to have him. I hope he goes to FSU because he really wants to and not because that’s what he’s expected to do. Harrison Twins, Young, Lee, Johnson is a great recruiting class but if everyone leaves we will not with the national championship with that starting 5. We need Randle, Wiggins or Gordon and now that Johnson is here I just don’t see us getting any of those 3. Honestly, Gordon and Randle are much better than Lee or Johnson. And Wiggins is better than Young.

It seems like all of our 2nd tier guys (Young, Johnson, Lee) committed early so our 1st tier guys (Wiggins, Randle, Gordon) would see a full lineup already and commit elsewhere.

134. I can’t believe we are so spoiled that a #1 Center- Johnson, #2 SG Young, and a guy ranked as high as 9th in some rankings Lee are considered second tier. I see it more like the Bledsoe, Wall situation. Cal got Bledsoe to commit first knowing that he could convince Wall to come anyways. Had he got the Wall commitment first Bledsoe most likely would have gone elsewhere. I’m pretty sure Wiggins and Randle know they would start over anybody that would be on the team. Gordon would start if Randle or Wiggins don’t commit.
Besides trust in Cal if our class in finished then he most likely will talk Poythress into staying and WCS too. Wiltjer Hood and Polson are here for sure. I think harrow will try to get drafted this year just not enough room for him, kind of like a Liggins situation. This year might be harrows only chance to get to the league.

Any one who knows Leonard Hamilton should have already been prepared for this. it’s always a longship going after big players against Leonard. And most people who know him know why. This case is absolutely no different. Throw his parents in as alums. It’s not surprising at all.
