You’ve heard the news about Dakari Johnson announcing his commitment to Kentucky college decision tonight at halftime of the 8pm game of the Cancer Research Classic, but don’t forget to watch him show out on the court as well.
Dakari’s Montverde Acadamy team will be playing on ESPN2 at 6pm against Simeon High School and recent Duke commitment Jabari Parker in a match-up that should interest all ‘Cats fans. Montverde comes into the game with a 6-0 record and is currently ranked #2 in the nation by USA Today, and Simeon (2-1) also cracked the Top 10, coming in at #9.
Louisville native and 2014 5-star prospect D’Angelo Russell also plays for Montverde Academy, and is a player who has shown interest in Kentucky although he has yet to receive an offer. Russell is ranked by Rivals as the 10th best player in the 2014 class.

I haven’t been able to follow recruiting as much as I’d like. Johnson looks pretty good and I’d like to get him. Saying that… do we only have one scholarship left? Who else are we looking at?

Anyone know why Kentucky hasn’t offered Russel? He’s a Kentucky native who is the top guard in his class. He’s shown a lot of interest in Kentucky, but UK has shown next to no interest in him.
