Hey friends. It’s been awhile. Seems like I haven’t seen you since last year, am I right? (I actually hate those jokes with a passion) The KSR College writers have finally recovered from their New Year’s parties at Tin Roof, on State Street, and other various revelry establishments. Here’s what they’ve been up to since we flipped the calendar page:
-Coach Cal’s breaking news of the day was his explanation of how he and his staff observe and analyze the players’ exertion during practice. Exactly how will the monitoring method help the Cats? I explored a few possible benefits in Coach Cal: Numbers Don’t Lie.
-Who did JC Ausmus deem worthy of this week’s Jorts Award? I’ll give you a hint: it was a condiment.
-Catch up on Thursday’s basketball news with Jack Heyburn, including highlights from Kentucky’s 52-point win over Eastern Michigan.
-Today Matt and the KSR Radio Show crew talked a lot about Louisville’s Sugar Bowl win over Florida last night- one of the greatest upsets in BCS bowl history. But, because we in BBN are self-centered egomaniacs, Brooks Holton asks readers, how does Louisville’s win affect Kentucky football?
-And to top things off, the UK Hoops team opens SEC play tonight against Florida in Memorial Coliseum. Wilder Treadway has a brief overview of what fans can expect from the UK/UF game and SEC play here.

Louisville is signing 4 stars while our position coach is giddy over 2 star visits.Not to mention Petrino is now in the state…..
Like it or not the Sugar Bowl win just vaulted the Dirty Birds even further above UK football.
