Kentucky’s next game will be on ESPN

by @ 1:00 pm. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

Kentucky’s first conference game of the season, a road test at Vanderbilt, has been assigned to ESPN.  The game is scheduled to tip off at 9:00 PM ET, a week from today on Thursday, January 10.

The Commodores are 6-6 on the season with double-digit home losses to Marist, Davidson, Villanova and Butler; a home loss to Middle Tennessee; and a 26-point beatdown at Oregon.

The Cats need to win big to kick off league play.

Good, get this traditionally tough (especially the last few years) road game out of the way fast.

And I hate Kevin Stallings. What a whiney bitch.

  2. Stickman Says:

Also, “firsties.” Now that that’s out of the way…

  3. TravisC Says:

With the John Short Spread set at 15 we could be looking at back to back covers.

  4. H.A. Milton Says:

Can someone just get Poythress some bath salts for this game? I want to see blood!

  5. BobKYCats Says:

If the Cats come out listless, they can very well lose this game. Vandy is awful this year, but they always seem to play their best when we come to town. If the guys come out and play like they did against EMU and the last 10 minutes at UofL, we could win this one anywhere between a dozen and 35 points, as long as the shots are going down.

  6. Ridge Runner Says:

Love to make a huge run here in conference play.

  7. Bobbum man Says:

    Is that court regulation size?

  8. Ridge Runner Says:

5….everybody it seems steps it up a notch when the other team has KENTUCKY across that chest, I hear ya. Thus, the super bowl phrase Coach uses.

Hell, surprised Eastern Michigan didn’t fare better to be honest.

  9. Peter Goyzina Says:

    Moe Green says 71-46 UK.

  10. BobKYCats Says:

@8: I get jokes. But seriously, every time we go to Nashville, it seems, we get tested more than at other places.

  11. Clouseau Says:

Didn’t Stallings whine about us not having a late Thursday/ Saturday combo of games?? Am I remembering that correctly? Because we play Saturday afternoon 2 days after this late Thursday game at Vandy… just sayin’.

  12. Ridge Runner Says:

    10…history proves it for sure.

  13. Ridge Runner Says:

11…correct and in fact, he did so last year.

  14. BobKYCats Says:

Stallings is always whining about something.

  15. David Blevins Says:

At Vandy always requires a solid leadership performance from a PG due to limited communication with Coach Cal as a result of the bench setup. Harrow will have to talk to the team like he has been and make more decisions for the team on the fly. Pulling for him to continue his growth and improvement. Big opportunity to show what he is made of and help us get a good road win. Go CATS!

  16. Clouseau Says:

13 – That’s what I thought. Well, I guess anyone who has to abide Angela Martin across from them every day is bound to whine at least a little.

  17. john short Says:

  21. Jughead Says:

Vandy is friggin awful this year, and Stallings nearly melted down during game against WIlliam and Mary. Broke a clipboard during a time out, the bald little pansy beetch.

    Cats by 20.

  22. Catcounsel Says:

Great Post and Big Blue Nation responses above! NOW IT IS SERIOUS. This is conference play, and I pray the team will continue to work TOGETHER and continue with overall dominant game play! Go Cats!

  23. VinylCAT Says:

  25. Josh Says:

I just got lower level tickets through Vandy’s ticket office. There are still a bunch left, and they’re much cheaper than what’s on Stub-hub.
