Jason Hatcher to Visit Kentucky

by @ 10:10 pm. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

hatcher

Want proof that Mark Stoops is here to compete for the best? How about the fact that in one week, he has convinced top Trinity DE Jason Hatcher to visit Kentucky in January. Hatcher is one of the best lineman in America and is currently committed to USC. Getting him to go to Kentucky is a long shot at best, but prior to Stoops coming to Kentucky, it was a no shot affair. But Stoops has gone to Trinity and convinced him to give the Cats a campus visit at the least. It might not result in Hatcher’s commitment (we shall see), but it does show a work effort and desire that will result in many commitments down the road.

Now thats what I’m talking about! These new Kat Coaches are the real deal–stay tuned more to come!

  2. NL Says:

Whether he comes to UK or not, thank goodness we finally have a staff confident enough to recruit great players.

  3. awww Says:

thats cute. get excited little kitties

  4. putinriche Says:

Stoops is really going to change UK football and do some special things in Lexington. Hatcher might not be a part of this change, but its grade news that Stoops is trying. He gets what it takes to win and hes trying to change our culture.

  5. BlueFins Says:

    GATORS!!!

  6. putinriche Says:

3 – Just so you know, Hatcher eliminated UL a LONG TIME AGO and said that Strong had no chance of getting him. Strong is a joke and might be the 3rd best coach in the state now.

  7. cracka Says:

ksr about to blow up talking recruiting with cal and now stoops in the mix, new news errrday, nice

  8. sonny lesbos Says:

stoops pays players comments in 3….2….

  9. Fired up Says:

    Stoooooooooooooops!!!!

  10. Bob Cobb Says:

    6. Not true, unfortunately. UL is his final scheduled visit.

  11. Jim Says:

Why are you hanging out on bbn web site #3 in loerville

  12. SoCal Will Says:

Wonder if he will have a reason to visit Tennessee as well? Tee Martin is his primary USC recruiter. Same for Jalen Ramsey arguably the best cornerback in high school.

  13. BigBrother Says:

Judgement day is coming little card fans. You always said you could compete in the SEC. We gonna find out aren’t we LOL???

Gators ain’t no weak azz Rutgers or Southern Miss. You are the biggest underdog out of all the bowl games LOL. Guess we gonna see if jurich over paid for his boy strong or see if strong can finally beat a legit team.

    Judgement day little brothers

  14. BigBrother Says:

And by the way, ESPN had their brackets out today and even in a year in which you were supposed to be a title favorite and play your first round game in Lexington, you losers aren’t even projected as a 1 seed LOL. Pitino will choke again as always and after this season you losers can add a 1 to 26 which will make it 27 years since you losers won a title lol. And you actually think your a top tier program lol. What a joke!

  15. dave Says:

13-purdue(+17) opened as the biggest underdog in vegas actually. not uofl (+15).
& UF only won 3 games (UT, UK, j-ville st) this year by 15+ points.
and its judgment. stop making cayts fans look so ignorant.

  16. UL BLOWS Says:

Seriously? enough of the Lew’vil talk. They are garbage and have nothing else to do but grow linebeards! Quite inflating their egos by talking about them. After the gators bend them over they may shutup for a little bit, maybe? but who cares, like 14 said 27 years!!! lol, if you havent won anything worth mentioning in my lifetime (born in 1988) then you’re irrelevant in my book! They’re douchebags who truly do suck at life, lets not mention it anymore please. By the way, F U old school

  17. JT Says:

Matt: Can a brother get the podcast for today’s KSR show?

  18. will Says:

per Steve Jones, James Quick will also visit UK.

  19. BigBrother Says:

Hey 15 my bad man. Your just the second worst underdog along with freaking Northern IL but hey you keep talking yourself up against the Gators. Keep telling yourself they are overrated lol. Remember judgement day tard fans. Finally you get to prove yourself against a big time SEC power. I’m predicting at best a moral victory lol.

Oh and by the way, 26 years and counting since your last championship in basketball lol. I think we are just around 28 WEEKS since our last title LOL.

  20. G-Man Says:

15.-Florida also beat South Carolina 44-11, but you keep making “cayts” fans look so ignorant.

  21. Big O Says:

Integrity issue for new UK staff. Once a kid commits to a school others should honor his choice. Don’t really like the move to get the kid to take a campus visit, knowing he has already committed to another school. Puts the kid in a difficult position. Love to see UK have a successful football progem. Just do so with some integrity!

  22. Knowledgedropper Says:

21… Doesn’t matter, he hasn’t signed. Plus, inside sources tell me he wants to take visits. He’s doing it on his own free will.

  23. Bluejohnson Says:

    21. Thanks for the advice Joker

  24. Justin Says:

#21..Obviously you know nothing about how college football recruiting works. Until a kid has put their signiture on a LOI, there is no secure verbal committment. Kids base their decisions mainly on coaches and the success the school has they are committed to. Right now, UK is making a lot of positive moves to head in the right direction and USC is coming off an underachieving season with a coach in hot water. Stoops may be a little late jumping into the contest for Hatcher, but he’s not going to stop until signing day passes.

  25. Sean D Says:

Might be able to position yourself for a rebound with Hatcher if things don’t work out somewhere else, but would be shocked if UK gets him off the bat.

  26. UK-Cincy Says:

Hatcher just so happens to play the position that Stoops/Eliot and company excelled in last year at FSU.

  27. kywildcat Says:

hate to be negative ned but its just a visit, hope he commits soon

  28. RealCatsFan Says:

The Cats are probably a long shot to land him (as well as Quick), but it’s good to see UK putting up a strong recruiting pitch to keep the state’s talent here where they belong. I thought I read somewhere that Quick was quoted as saying he would strongly consider going to UK if they hired Petrino. Wonder if the same holds true for WKU?

UL is going to have to play the game of their lives to beat UF, or Florida is going to have to lay a big turd on the field. This is a very good UF team, but it pales in comparison to the Meyer and Spurrier teams that UK had to face on a regular basis in the past. Nonetheless, it will give the Cards a little taste of what REAL football is all about. I would love to hear what Charlie is telling his kids, since he was a part of the program.

  29. Eric Says:

21- Hatcher said when he committed that he will take the rest of his allowed visits. Pump the brakes on ALREADY accusing the UK coaches of shady recruiting.

  30. W.W.B.B.N.D? Says:

UL has many Organge Bowl tickets still available. They are only in the Orange Bowl because of the 6 SEC teams in the final top 10 poll, only 2 can go to BCS games. So for UL fans to act like they deseve to be there is crazy. The Orange bowl would rather have the other 4 SEC teams in the top 10 then them.

  31. CatGrad7072 Says:

#30. Probably still have Sugar Bowl tickets as well : )

  32. BleedBlue Says:

30 UL is in the Sugar Bowl not Orange Bowl. I do agree the Sugar Bowl would rather have one of the other SEC school over them .

  33. G-Unit Says:

USC in their latest recruiting podcast has said that they are losing the interest of Jason Hatcher because of the recent developments with Carl Lawson who has backed out of his committ with Auburn and is a USC lean. Only prob is scholly limitations would require USC to drop 1 given, and it would be Hatcher.

  34. Catssss Says:

USC already lost 2 commitments so they have 2 open schollys. They can take 18 commitments.

  35. Bourbon Drinker Says:

You got to love the new staff’s efforts on so far. Nothing is set in stone until February.

  36. Chip Says:

Unless I am mistaken – 34 – USC can only offer 15 a year based on recent punishments. I know they can work some arrangements but 15 was there max technically.

  37. MustangCat Says:

The next few weeks are gonna be REAL interesting, to see what kind of recruiting class Stoops and company can put together!! If they can get the first few big names in, then more will follow because of that. It could snowball. Integrity to NOT RECRUIT??? Then i guess NO ONE IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL HAS ANY INTEGRITY…… The only reason ANYONE backs off a kid is because of the kid, not any other school.

  38. Hatcherfan Says:

I don’t know, but that Hatcher looks like a bad ass. We could call him the Hatchet. I as a player would love to go to USC, but I wouldn’t want to play for Lane Kiffin. He doesn’t really seem to care for his players. It seems like Stoops and his new crew might be a more personable atmosphere. If we could get a bad ass updated stadium I think we’d have a better shot! We need to get some new bad ass uniforms now, or at least a helmet change. Lets go! Our time is now!!
