According to a Florida State football beat writer for the Orlando Sentinel, Coley Harvey, Jimbo Fisher says that at this point none of his other assistant coaches are leaving. Fisher also said that Mark Stoops plans on coaching through the weekend, but is unsure about whether or not he will coach in the bowl game. Fisher was excited for Stoops’ opportunity.

Can we call him Batman Stoops because he is here to save us from the Joker era.
November 27th, 2012 at 6:24 pm
Don’t forget I’m also the same Jimbo that told you Stoops hadn’t interviewed for the job. I don’t have much credibility with these things

Everybody named Coley in Florida?
November 27th, 2012 at 6:28 pm
Umm yeah… James Coley FSU offensive coordinator is coming to Kentucky with Stoops! Done deal

Love to have Brown as OC, but it would take a lot for him to leave I think. He is a hot commodity right now and will probably land a head coaching gig. Also, why would Kingsbury want to become an OC when he is a head coach now (except for pay and being in a better conference)? Probably going to have to look at smaller school OCs with high potential or BCS OCs that want to move.
Potential OC candidates: Kenny Edenfield – Troy; Dave Brock – Rutgers; Philip Montgomery – Baylor.

“Our desire to get better defensively and continue to expand our recruiting base helped guide us to Mark,” Barnhart said.

big statement by barnhart. it appears stoops believes he can recruit state of FL (and/or OH) to UK. we’ll see

I am excited about the change as well but still a little sad to see Joker go. Wished he could have stayed on at some capacity, since he is blue inside and out. However I know that is not feasible even at a coordinator spot. But change is always a good start… Lets hope for some positive yrs to come.

Didn’t Fisher also say Stoops hadn’t interviewed with UK. Not really a reliable source.

#6 Kingsbury is NOT Texas A&M’s head coach, he is their OC. Kevin Sumlin is the HC
November 27th, 2012 at 6:39 pm
Do not worry about Joker. When one door closes, another opens.
When Charlie Strong takes over the Arkansas job, he will bring Joker with him.
November 27th, 2012 at 6:39 pm
6-Kingsbury is an OC in the SEC.
November 27th, 2012 at 6:40 pm
6, What are you talking about? Kingsbury is not a HC.

First down eeeeeeaglesss

It’s cool to have hope again. Our current recruiting class is pretty weak does Stoops have to honor the verbals or can he pick and choose to make room for his own?
November 27th, 2012 at 6:55 pm
Didn’t he also say Stoops wasn’t leaving or hadn’t been interviewed like 2 days ago?
November 27th, 2012 at 6:58 pm
I’m excited and hope he gets the backing of the administration! Let’s try to keep Mary Jo off him so he can focus on the job.

I would love to punch 8 in the face really hard!

Setting up big time for Neal Brown to get PAID and come to UK! AIR RAID 2013!!
November 27th, 2012 at 7:40 pm
Why Andy, it’s real simple: Jucos…..Jucos…….Jucos!
November 27th, 2012 at 8:34 pm
7. Nice quote Mitch! I’d say Stoops picking up the phone and calling you helped “lead you to Mark”.
November 27th, 2012 at 9:03 pm
Yea well Jimbo Fisher also said that Mark Stoops had not interviewed with KY nor was going to be leaving FSU for any job elsewhere. So we are supposed to put stock in this?
November 27th, 2012 at 9:10 pm
15 – Stoops doesn’t have to honor the current verbals, but I expect him to since it is this late in the process. I definitely expect him to bring in around 5-6 more recruits before NSD to round out the class since we are only at 14, but don’t expect many (if any) defections.
It’s a good question though and its one that I am interested to see how it plays out. It’s very possible 1-2 might be told they have to greyshirt if they want to come here now.
