As part of a project that should be required listening for all Cat fans, the Louie Nunn center has released the first set of audio from 40 hours of Bill Keightley interviews on UK basketball. Keightley talks about his life and the history of UK basketball through all his years on the bench. He recounts all of UK’s coaches and the players that were a part of his time at UK. This audio truly is priceless and is a great resources for UK fans. The link is below and I hope you will join me in listening to his interviews:

HOLY CRAP that’s a lot of audio. Great resource and good to see that it is all digital to be logged through the ages. Long live Mr. Bill.

The man saw and knew more about UK basketball than anyone ever will. He had a front row seat and behind the scenes access to the greatest basketball program in the world. Some of us just might think we know a lot about UK basketball, but he forgot more than all of us combined could ever know.
In a way, he didn’t go out too bad. He lived a long life, worked right up until the end, he didn’t get real sick and lay for weeks or months in a hospital or nursing home etc.
Here’s to you, Mr. Wildcat.

6. I used to work in special collections/archives at the King Library on the UK campus. There is TONS of great stuff there about UK, our great state, noteworthy Kentuckians, etc. and the Keightly collection is just one more drop in the bucket. You could contact the staff there and ask them your questions:
