Nicki Minaj sounds bi-polar.

Matt, I loved the Walk-On’s!
September 19th, 2012 at 10:10 am
We’re just 3 days away from people having their annual meltdown in the “I camped out for days and my tickets are worse than people who didn’t” debate.

WATCH YOUR FEET CAMPERS!

September 19th, 2012 at 10:17 am
Festivus for the rest of us!
September 19th, 2012 at 10:17 am
Nothing better than Magloire’s habit of blocking opposing players’ jump shots at the rim after the whistle was blown.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:17 am
19- agreed. What, exactly, is this guy’s claim to fame? Smoothing an imaginary back out?
Yes, excuse me for not falling over myself for such a daunting accomplishment.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:17 am
20 Because he is too busy becoming a f’n BOSS! The dude is absolutely huge!

I wish I didn’t live 2 states away and could camp with all my fellow crazy UK fans! Enjoy yourselves!

When I was in HS, I worked at a place with go-karts. We had a cop up there on Friday and Saturday nights. There was a guy who got a DUI at the go-kart track.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:21 am
I hope Brian Long appreciates all these campers.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:21 am
Someone tell Shannon that there is a “l” in “told”
September 19th, 2012 at 10:21 am
Like I said, I think its silly to get a DUI on something you don’t need a license for. Because in theory, you could get 100 DUI’s and they never can stop you by taking your license. Strange.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:21 am
Glad to see the guy with the yellow tent finally succeeded!!
September 19th, 2012 at 10:22 am
Matt, you can get a DUI on any sort of conveyance.. when we were in school at UK, my fraternity brother got a DUI on a RAZOR SCOOTER. He got it dismissed though.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:22 am
We had a guy charged with DUI on a horse this summer in my county. I actually saw the guy riding his horse down the street while I was reading on my front porch late one Saturday night, so I’ll have to let Gabe the Prosecutor handle that case.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:22 am
John Short at least needs to make a showing to support the campers!
September 19th, 2012 at 10:23 am
The last Madness I went to was a MIDNIGHT madness – it was at Memorial and the one where Rondo jumped over Ramel to dunk the ball. I will never forget that night!
September 19th, 2012 at 10:23 am
Wasn’t it in a locker room interview after the 97 championship loss when Jamaal guaranteed winning it all in 98
September 19th, 2012 at 10:23 am
Tickets for BBM always sell out immediately. I have not camped out in the last 6 years, instead I have been on Ticketmaster trying to get tickets. They are usually gone within 5 minutes…. if they even last that long.
Sometimes tickets will be re-released afterwards, but not a very large amount. Camping probably is the only way to guarantee yourself tickets. Plus it looks like a lot of fun.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:23 am
Wait a sec, so he’s an Iranian Guard? That could get confusing!
September 19th, 2012 at 10:23 am
Arsalan Kazemi needs to be in Kentucky blue! Averaged a double-double last year. That’s damn good.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:24 am
How about General Tso
September 19th, 2012 at 10:24 am
Bet the Iranian’s game is nuclear

If UK gets a Chinese kid, just go ahead and move us to the #1 spot on the collegiate apparel list.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:24 am
Greg Fischer thinks Cal needs to recruit in Louisville if he wants to have Chinese or Mexicans.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:25 am
#45 could we call him Nuclear Kazemi?
September 19th, 2012 at 10:25 am
46- Yep. they wouldn’t even have to export most of it to the US.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:26 am
Anyone seen this story? If it’s been talked about, sorry. http://www.lex18.com/news/florida-oc-wants-to-hang-50-on-uk-thanks-to-lorenzen/
also I think UofF will hang more than 50
September 19th, 2012 at 10:26 am
If he comes to UK his nickname will be The Persian Cat
September 19th, 2012 at 10:26 am
There is a statue in KY’s KRS that says you can get a DUI on any non-motorized vehicle, a la skateboard, rollerblades, horses, etc.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:27 am
They haven’t printed enough money yet to make UK’s football program successful.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:28 am
And here’s your KRS for Horse DUI (or skateboard, bicycle, etc.)
KRS 189.520: No person under the influence of intoxicating beverages or any substance which may impair one’s driving ability shall operate a vehicle that is not a motor vehicle anywhere in this state.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:28 am
UT and Ark have/will have the gold standards in practice facilities in the SEC. UK should look no further for ideas. Both schools knocked it straight out of the park.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:28 am
I said this on the thread yesterday, the whole conversation about financial commitment and renovations only goes so far. There comes a point where it is COACHING that is a problem. Kentucky does not need the ‘luxury boxes’ and a new stadium to beat simple teams like WESTERN KENTUCKY. To compete with high-level SEC teams like the Florida’s and Alabama’s, yes you do need more of a financial commitment. But losing to teams like WKU and not competing with Louisville comes down to coaching and that’s the bottom line.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:29 am
Matt: If success is just about money, why isn’t Oklahoma State a national title contender every year? T. Boone Pickens personally bankrolls their foorball program & has donated over $100MM just for football. Same for Arkansas. The Waltons are HUGE benefactors of Arkansas & Arkansas athletics. One dontation they made was over $300MM.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:30 am
I don’t think Madison has done anything quick in his life.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:30 am
Madison is definitely the caller you want with 30 seconds to break…
September 19th, 2012 at 10:31 am
The out-of-state tuition cost for out-of-state players goes to back to Bear Bryant. The university wanted him to recruit more in-state guys so that’s where that comes from. Probably the main reason he left for Texas A&M, not the apocryphal ‘Rupp got a car, Bryant got a lighter’ story.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:32 am
UK will not score against Florida…
September 19th, 2012 at 10:32 am
After Madison saw me start my shift at Romney Rd, he told me we would win by 8 Bigguns so I had him call in.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:33 am
56- UK will never sell a huge coach with the current facilities as they are. That’s the point. Everyone wants a magical coach to initiate change, but you can’t get a coach without the facilities. He’s hogtied from the get-go at a perennial loser… no amount of money is going to sell a name coach to come here and do it against the SEC w/o the proper tools to succeed. It’s career suicide.
That’s why facilities matter so much. The perceived inherent recruiting advantage is secondary.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:33 am
I know we are all supposed to be BBN but Madison is the classic example of a delusional UK fan when it comes to football. These people must be gluttons for punishment.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:34 am
#57 money isn’t the only issue at UK. Having said that, I believe right now it is the most influential problem that keeps us from being a good program. Our facilities suck. UofL might be in a crappy conference, but its facilities are better than UKs. In the SEC we are bottom of the barrel. Couple that with not getting very good coaches and we are struggling.
I think if UK was ever able to get serious financial support for football, it could make significant improvements in facilities, get a better coach as a result, and have a chance of competing in the SEC.

September 19th, 2012 at 10:35 am
Matt, we had a guy here arrested for riding a horse downtown while drunk. He pleaded with the police that the horse knew his way home and he did not even have to hold the reins !!!

September 19th, 2012 at 10:37 am
Yeah really going out on a limb there Brent Pease. UofL could have put up 50 on us. UF can put up 60+ on us if they want.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:37 am
I say J-lo is a flipping genius, actually.
He’s expedited the process from afar.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:38 am
Jared Lorenzen shouldn’t write a check that Kentucky football can’t cash.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:38 am
Dick…next time you call in, say your from Cider. Matt won’t catch on to it until it’s too late.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:41 am
Will Sanders be available this weekend?
September 19th, 2012 at 10:41 am
At least this year I’m not going into the Florida game with delusions that THIS might be the year we beat them!!
September 19th, 2012 at 10:41 am
Honestly, I think Joker is already taking the swing for the fences mentality. UL we had an onside kick and fake punt. Look at the number of seniors and upper class men who have already been benched (something that never used to happen). Add in the change in offense (up tempo) and getting after Minter on defense. He’s picked his spots, but he didn’t used to do any of that stuff.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:42 am
A good buddy of mine lives in Chapel Hill and is a big UNC fan, he says he’s hearing rumors around the program that are putting him on suicide watch. He’s pretty in-tune to these things, so who knows what might be coming down the pipe..

This isn’t Myers Florida team, but they are still going to smoke us !!
September 19th, 2012 at 10:45 am
80- good post
I don’t know what else he could do to “put it all on the line.” Our vertical passing game yielded 4 pics against a directional school. If he sends the house every down on defense, teams will hang 45+ on us every week with the long ball, which we already have trouble defending. Like you, I tink if he goes anymore balls to the wall, he’s playing right back into opponents’ hands. There is a line and I think he’s currently living on it.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:46 am
Time Warner probably won’t even have the SEC network
September 19th, 2012 at 10:46 am
I see UKs base as Ohio, Penn, Tenn, GA, and South Carolina. UofL can recruit high level, why can’t UK?
September 19th, 2012 at 10:48 am
86- I wonder what UL’s recruiting budget is compared to UK’s? Be interesting to know that bit of info. I think UK ‘could’ increase its recruiting base, but it would cost money that people don’t want to spend.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:50 am
TMMK!!
September 19th, 2012 at 10:50 am
Eli Cap needs to go. Forget Joker and Mitch
September 19th, 2012 at 10:50 am
Our TV package is part of the problem: To UK admin, we get paid even if we lose, so why waste the money up grading football when we can spend that money on something else.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:51 am
86 – Facilities and the fact that they are competing to win the Big East. Kids want to win.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:52 am
The biggest problem with Commonwealth is that you arrive in cheery mood and by the end of the game you need treatment for depression.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:52 am
LOL, Mitt Romney…cue up the comments!
September 19th, 2012 at 10:52 am
86 It is because there are too many other SEC schools offering the best players that have proven they can put them in the NFL as high draft picks.
With all the talk about coaches, facilities, and financial support, it is the prospect of playing in the NFL which is the ONLY thing that matters to the vast majority of 4 and 5 star recruits.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:53 am
Why doesn’t your show thread update w/o making a post? Need upgrading???
September 19th, 2012 at 10:53 am
There’s nothing wrong with Commonwealth, if you like watching football in an Eastern European soccer stadium…
September 19th, 2012 at 10:53 am
Sounds like he was calling from his government phone. Must be an Obama Voter.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:54 am
84 – I agree, if he tries too much more and you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. Now I’d like to see a few “go for it on 4th and shorts” or some things like that, as long as they keep it unpredictable.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:54 am
#91 I understand the BE being easier to win. But say you win the BE, you get to play for what, 7th place? And if you don’t win BE, the fall to the second place BE bowl is long. UK could get the 5th best SEC bowl and it’d still be better than the second place BE bowl.
I agree the facilities stink and I think that is the main reason UofL beats us for recruits. If they don’t have a terrible coach, they beat us in recruiting.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:55 am
It’s a conspiracy. The state perpetuates horrid football at UK to keep alcohol sales elevated. Elevated alcohol sales trickle down to overall increased local spending.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:55 am
Urinal troughs are bad? Try going to Miss State’s restrooms, that don’t even bother with troughs, you pee against a concrete wall, it runs down the wall and into a ‘ditch’ at the bottom.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:55 am
Do they have troths at Dunbar?
September 19th, 2012 at 10:55 am
This guy is sooo suspended lol
September 19th, 2012 at 10:56 am
Dunbar and Other schools must vote for Obama since they support fascist ways.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:56 am
If Joker is let go, I would guess there is a very good possibility that Mike Summers would be retained. He is a genius offensive line coach & Joe B is his father-in-law.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:56 am
You can take that “haha” as a oh crap, I’m 15 and hadn’t thought that out too well.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:56 am
My Chapel Hill buddy has it on good authority that Roy and his asst. Steve Robinson have lawyered up, here is what he said: “WHY they have lawyered up, though, is a matter of speculation — everything from helping dean with his estate to precautionary measures in re: the tami hansbrough stuff to coach rob potentially helping one of the players cover up complicity in the murder of one of the basketball team’s managers. “
September 19th, 2012 at 10:56 am
In Miss. State mens restrooms you urinate on a wall, it runs down the wall into a trench in the floor which is pitched to a drain at one end of the trench. They spent their money on the huge video board and those terrible cow bells.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:56 am
J.B. Holmes was the bell-ringer today at the New York Stock Exchange. Think he’s working with his some new sponsors. A good year for JB after the brain surgery. 48th position on the Fed-Ex standings is solid.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:57 am
101 – It was the same way at South Carolina when I went a few years ago for a UK/SC game. Just a tile wall, everybody take your shot.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:58 am
Matt they are probably not explicitly blocking KSR at Dunbar. They probably have a filter setup for all sites deemed as blogs. Your site likely falls into that category. They could explicitly allow an exception for your site if the students ask for it.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:58 am
More shots at Romney coming from someone that says they are Friends of Coal and suppport the party trying to take Coal down?
September 19th, 2012 at 10:58 am
I am at this moment sitting at my desk at a high school where I teach in Georgia, listening to KSR while I work during my planning period. KSR helps maintain my sanity and connection to home. Thank goodness it’s not blocked here.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:59 am
I spent majority of my day on KSR and Ebay listing the computer that I was about ready to steal…
September 19th, 2012 at 10:59 am
107 Let me save you the suspense…the NCAA has predetermined it is not possible for UNC and Duke to have a major violation.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:00 am
It should make it easier to clean, just hose the entire room.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:00 am
#94 I’m with you that the other schools are more lucrative to UK. I think UK should try for 3 stars in the South (GA, SC, FL, TN). Then focus on higher recruits in the North (Indiana, OH, and Penn). I think getting good recruits from the North is probably easier than it was 10-15 years ago.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:00 am
If we get an Iranian player on this team, does that mean Cal will give the Iron Sheik a championship ring?
September 19th, 2012 at 11:01 am
115 – He’s not worried that it’s a ncaa issue, in fact, he says he hopes that’s what it is: “it could be nothing but i’m basically ready for the worst. just hope it’s NCAA stuff (though that seems unlikely) and not something so awful that i’d have to stop following unc athletics”
September 19th, 2012 at 11:03 am
I will have to say the atmosphere at Miss St was unbelievable. Was there in 2010 and it felt like a bowl game. They never sat down and it was deafening. If I never hear another cow bell I will be happy!!!
September 19th, 2012 at 11:07 am
Matt, are you concerned with the offers Cal has been giving out for the 2013 class? It would seem that he knows that certain players aren’t coming so he is offering to lower ranked players. Can you elaborate?
September 19th, 2012 at 11:08 am
At the Hotel 21C in Louisville, they have a pee wall, but they have these small LED tv screens with eyes on them that follow you around in the bathroom. Freaks me out.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:08 am
What about the coach at Louisiana Monroe? He obviously can win and be competitive in the SEC. Team plays with heart and he can obviously get a lot out of mid major talent.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:08 am
Horse Wreck! It’s a 40-hoof pileup!
September 19th, 2012 at 11:09 am

possible candidate if Joker is let go? Mike Summers – http://www.ukathletics.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/summers_mike00.html
September 19th, 2012 at 11:11 am
If you get 2 dui’s on a horse, they take your saddle for 6 months.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:13 am
I LOVE this guy. Favorite player ever at UK!
September 19th, 2012 at 11:15 am
J effing Load. Nice.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:15 am
about Willie CS.. already my favorite off court.. Kyle W videos with Willie great fun
September 19th, 2012 at 11:15 am
Ask him about this coaching staff.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:17 am
Dunbar bans KSR? Look at their football program. I listen everyday during my lunch at TMMK in Georgetown. My KSR fix improves our productivity and quality so we can continue to build the most American made car in its class. Come see us.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:17 am
Ask him what his favorite nick name is
September 19th, 2012 at 11:17 am
Joker getting fired; fans are demanding it.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:17 am
I think its telling his thoughts on the staff, that he would help direct his protege Patrick Towles to UK. A lot of people forget he was Patty Ice’s main mentor while he was at Highlands.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:20 am
If you get a DUI on a horse, can you still get a hardship to still ride it to work?
September 19th, 2012 at 11:20 am
You know, a few days removed from the Western loss, I’m softening up on this idea that Joker must be fired. I do think Joker can stay, but that Sanders and Minter probably have to go. Joker is a season HC now, he needs to get some young and hungry coordinators in.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:21 am
What if the horse gets into the moonshine? Does the rider still get the DUI?
September 19th, 2012 at 11:22 am
When it comes to national and international news/current events, Ryan got the short end of the stick.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:22 am
We Are UK: Where we always make the wrong decision when it comes to football.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:23 am
I’m not sure that Sanders would have to go. He keeps Max in his comfort zone. When Max tries to stretch the field, he gets inaccurate. Basically the opposite of Newton. Newton throws a nice deep ball but has no accuracy anywhere else on the field. Sanders is working pretty well right now.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:23 am
Joker is not getting retained next year. I’m sorry, but the damage is done.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:24 am
Joker for Life! K1J4Eva!
September 19th, 2012 at 11:25 am
I’m thinking Joker will be here next year. In about 5-8 years Joker might be a name brand coach. He just needs a little swagger. I mean it’s not like we have the richest tradition in College football, let’s be realistic people.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:25 am
To me, the coaching list should begin and end with Kirby Smart. Outside of him I don’t really give a crap. Anyone in the know think we could get a guy like that to come to UK?
September 19th, 2012 at 11:25 am
J Lo was with the Colts after he was released by the Giants. They signed him but I think released him during camp.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:26 am
Matt: What are fans overall reactions if Mitch decides to keep Joker?
September 19th, 2012 at 11:28 am
I got lower level tickets at center court from Ticketmaster last year. Find the official US clock online and refresh right at 7.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:28 am
Rick Ross said Aston Martin
September 19th, 2012 at 11:28 am
Matt you were supposed to let FRS have 30 seconds for the donation!
September 19th, 2012 at 11:28 am
Rick Ross the BOSS!!! *ugh* *Whooo!*
September 19th, 2012 at 11:28 am
Why would anybody even consider the fact that Joker is going to stay? It’s not happening. The guy is toast. Barnhart is already sending out feelers.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:28 am
Myself and about 50 other people spent the night in a Kroger at Ticketmaster for BBM tickets for the 2010 season. I was SECOND in line and they sold out before I got my tickets. Dead serious, true story.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:29 am
Burn. It. Down.
Some men just want to watch the NCAA burn. I am one of those men.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:30 am
Ed O’Bannon doesn’t need the cash. He got plenty from his agent while he was playing for UCLA.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:30 am
YOU GOTTA PLAY RICK ROSS FOR THE NEXT INTRO!!!! ASTON MARTIN MUSIC!!!!
September 19th, 2012 at 11:30 am
147 If Mitch keeps Joker…he will have to give him an extension. I think Mitch likes his job and wouldn’t take that kind of a chance, barring some sort of miraculous turnaround this season.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:30 am
But seriously, I hate the NCAA and anything that kills them is good by me.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:31 am
I’m totally behind Ed O’Bannon. College football players and basketball players deserve some type of reasonable stipend. They are doing real work for the universities and there is no denying that.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:31 am
Rick Ross is always rapping about cars he can’t even fit in…

September 19th, 2012 at 11:32 am
UK has always fired coaches that have gone on to be excellent at other places. Don Shula, Chuck Knox Bear Bryant and others, we are about to do it again. We will regret firing Joker
September 19th, 2012 at 11:33 am
if ed obannon wins his lawsuit, i will wear an air brushed ed obannon tshirt. Also, screw the ncaa. couldn’t happen to a better org.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:33 am
I know the kids may like him but I would rather see Meatball ride his bike into Rupp than Rick Ross.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:33 am
Joker is a bad coach. Joker apologists are really off base. There was no system change. UK didn’t go from a pro-style to a spread offense. We have had a number of good recruits and good recruiting classes, we have an abundance of players in the NFL who are starting! How is it we can have trevathan starting and winston guy starting for seahawks, yet we were so terrible on D last year? Better athletes losing to worse athletes is all about coaching. Look at the recruiting class for WKU and UK and ask yourself, who should win? Look at boise and Uk… we out recruit them, yet they are a perennial top 25 team, we’re typically terrible.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:34 am
Ricky Rozay is probably the most popular Rapper right now.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:34 am
Ed O’Bannon sells cars for a Toyota dealership.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:34 am
Joey is a good boy, and a good coach. He should be signed to an extension.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:35 am
Matt, you HAVE to address the creepy clown video. I didn’t realize people like this existed.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:35 am
164 — There will be no regretting firing Joker. I firmly believe we can get a coach that can develop a respectable program. We need a hungry young up-and-comer who will totally appreciate his job.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:37 am
Could anybody let me know how much would be this “small fee” if you order the tickets online and Thanks
September 19th, 2012 at 11:38 am
Which is greater? Losing to WKU or ending streaks against UT and USC
September 19th, 2012 at 11:38 am
I truly think Mark Helfrich from Oregon will be at the top of Barnhart’s radar. The guy is still young (39 yrs. old) and has climbed up the ladder all while being a part of some really successful offenses. His resume is outstanding. Barnhart’s and Brooks’ connections to Oregon will help facilitate a Helfrich hire as well.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:38 am
I am going to go out on a limb and say we will not regret getting rid of Joker. He has done nothing to indicate that he is a capable head football coach. His in game coaching decisions and personnel decisions are baffling and have been since day 1. It has taken him three years to realize that he needs to play the best players but he still does not put those players in a position to succeed. Come on, Morgan Newton in the Wildcat? Gene McCaskill running WR screens? Indiana State’s linebackers’ coach as a defensive coordinator in the SEC. Pathetic.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:38 am
Probably $5 – $7 a ticket…maybe less
September 19th, 2012 at 11:40 am
Rex Ryan worth it!
September 19th, 2012 at 11:40 am
175 – I’ll take that in a second.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:40 am
Kirby Smart > Charlie Strong
September 19th, 2012 at 11:40 am
178 I dont know if Lexington is big enough for Rex Ryan AND the footstabber
September 19th, 2012 at 11:41 am
This caller is why we can’t have nice things. There are WAY to many of them in the fanbase.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:41 am
Clint is an idiot
September 19th, 2012 at 11:41 am
Strong will be in Arkansas next year.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:41 am
That guy was an idiot.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:42 am
People have a delusional view of the football program. This is not a good job for a BCS conference. Not saying this program can’t get better, but there’s no way, no chance in hell Charlie Strong is leaving UL for UK.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:42 am
Petrino will be back at Arkansas Charlie Strong will either be at Tennessee or maybe even back at Florida. Florida fans hate their coach.

Worst 3-5 BCS football jobs: Duke, UK, who else?
September 19th, 2012 at 11:43 am
184) Arkansas people seem to think it will be the TCU coach but Strong is on the list.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:43 am
I heard that argument when we wanted to replace tubby and billy g, “Who would want to coach here?” That’s a loser’s question. Time to step up Mitch.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:43 am
If our recruiting base is such a problem, why not pack up the entire stadium and football operation and move it to the deep south? The guy with the yellow tent can rebuild the stadium.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:44 am
If you are an assistant at a top program and you have aspirations of a big-time HC job, you are simply not going to come to UK, where winning 4-6 games on the average will take you out of the conversation.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:44 am
There should be a FAQ sheet somewhere. People ask the same questions over and over b/c they don’t really listen until they want to call in, and they never read the comments before spewing something that’s been covered 12 times before. It’s unreal.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:44 am
If we could get the money & spend it to improve the facilities, we could make the UK job a much more attractive job.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:44 am
Honestly why do we even try to have this conversation with Matt Jones? No offense meant, but Matt believes we will never be good and has made up his mind. He will refuse to change that opinion. So why do we still even talk about it?
September 19th, 2012 at 11:44 am
This is y us Joker supporters are not more vocal, Matt talks to us like kids.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:45 am
http://www.courier-journal.com/article/20120918/SPORTS03/309180110/1029/rsslink
Matt this is the link to the article where Mitch supposedly said his job wasn’t in jeopardy right this minute.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:46 am
Why is the UK football job one of the “top 5 worst jobs in the BCS”? Will Mitch & CO. try their hardest to CHANGE the perception of UK football? Will Mitch & CO. ASSURE the next coach that upgrades in the program are coming? If the answer to those questions is NO, then why should UK fans continue to support our administration by buying season tickets or donating to the football program?
September 19th, 2012 at 11:46 am
195- And that is the entire issue here. Mitch said so himself on this very show. They can pay a big coach, they just can’t sell the job to a big coach until they actually have something to sell.
I don’t know why this is so hard for most to fathom. Mitch said those very words.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:47 am
I bet Pat Forde is the relative that the rest of the family never wants to see.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:47 am
What about trying to pull Dabo Swinney away from Clemson? It would be a tough get, but he is a hell of a recruiter.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:47 am
Strong will be at Arkansas and Petrino will be at Tennessee
September 19th, 2012 at 11:48 am
202. His teams defense arnt much better than ours is this year
September 19th, 2012 at 11:49 am
Our best hope for football is to luck into a coach that’s an up and comer and doesn’t care about facilities, etc. Maybe if we had a better program the upgrades to the stadium, etc. would come.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:49 am
That video: are the lambs still screaming clarice !!
September 19th, 2012 at 11:51 am
193 — I don’t fully agree. A few may shy away from the job, but many assistants would jump at the chance to coach a team in the SEC. The bottom line is that it is a head coaching job in a major conference. You can’t be messing around and turning down too many jobs and gambling that a better one will come down the pike.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:52 am
why did that weirdo want us to use a shotgun formation with only one yard to go, we need a one yard run but we are going to start 6 yards back? clowns should stick to balloon animals and not football…
September 19th, 2012 at 11:52 am
205- With that approach, we’ll never get any facilities. If UK hadn’t put off keeping the FB end up all these years, they wouldn’t be so far behind right now. I’m saying they haven’t even wanted to spend the money for simple upkeep and now they want to cry about how we can’t sell a name coach on this job b/c of lacking facilities. Circular logic and they sell it to ticket holders in spades.
This caller is spot-on.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:53 am
Getting “an a hole” in here won’t fix the program. It didn’t work for the basketball team.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:53 am
Mitch WILL NOT bring in someone with a big ego, he is way too insecure to bring in a coach with an attitude.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:54 am
ITS NOT U “OF” K PEOPLE
evry single day someone says it. DRIVES ME CRAZY!!!
September 19th, 2012 at 11:54 am
207- Malzahn turned down Vandy’s $3M/year offer to go to Arky St.
Speaks volumes about what #193 is saying.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:55 am
211 – See Calipari, John.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:55 am
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1118860-the-12-worst-head-coaching-jobs-in-college-football/page/13 UK is not listed as one of the 12 worst coaching jobs in College Football. Now, I’m not disputing the FACT that UK is not a final destination position, however, money cures most ills. I disagree with Matt that a large enough pay check can’t lure a big name to UK, if only for a season or two, though potentially longer if facilities were upgrading during a new coaches tenure. Look at USC getting spurrier. Now, to answer Matt’s question, ‘who would come to UK for 4 million’? Well, we don’t know, and neither does Matt. However, until we start asking, we will never know. Would Rob Ryan take a HC position at a UK just to get a HC position? Maybe. Would a Tressel or Petrino if they felt like it was a good place to get started? Perhaps. But to dismiss the point of a fan (clint) simply because he said stupid stuff (UK is a good place to coach) is not only a logical fallacy, but is a disservice to the fans valid point, specifically we should offer big money to a big name.

Navy (future)
Memphis

Northwestern
Penn State
Duke
Wake Forest
NC State
Minnesota
Indiana
Utah
September 19th, 2012 at 11:56 am
I’m ok with Phil Fulmer just beause I like him. He is a nice guy and wants to get back into coaching. I just don’t know if he wants UK.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:56 am
Why would Phil Fulmer even come to UK? He has nothing to prove.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:56 am
Matt, it’s true. The only 1st qtr TD since the 2010 TN game is a Neloms 40 yd fumble return vs Jacksonville St last year.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:56 am
Until the UK administration shows us an actual PLAN for the improvement, UK fans should NOT keep supporting Mitch & CO.!! Why should we support the program if the University WON’T??!!!!!!
September 19th, 2012 at 11:56 am
@212, its university of kentucky so idk why you would care how someone abbreviates it. find something better to do
September 19th, 2012 at 11:57 am
207 Many assistants might jump, but not the ones with a legit shot at a high-profile job.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:57 am
Kentucky has NOT always been the bottom dweller of the SEC. Fans need to realize that we were once a force in football.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:58 am
I was so mad at the game Saturday that I got up and left after the 4th interception. I was so mad that I hadn’t noticed I lost my wallet until I got to the parking lot. They let me back in the stadium and I backtracked all the way to my seat where the guys next to me had found it and said if I didn’t come back they were going to give it to a police officer. So to UK football, you blew so bad I lost my wallet and almost didn’t notice. To the guys next to me who foundit and kept it for me, thank you, and God bless you.
