That didn’t take long.
Joker Phillips banned his players from Twitter for the 24 hours before and after football games. The new policy is to cut back on players talking smack the day before the game or complaining about playing time immediately afterwards. We saw both happen last week when freshman punter Landon Foster tweeted, “I think I see the KY state trash dump oh wait it’s Louisville,” and freshman running back Dyshawn Mobley tweeted his frustration about only getting three touches.
This is a great move by Joker to keep his guys focused and off of social media.

“Great move”?
Where will I get my entertainment at now?

I have a sister-in-law that stays on social networking sites all day!!! She’s a mother and wish she would act like it!
Tell these kids to get a life, get off fb & twitter and play some damn football! Quit belly-aching and man-up for once.

Thank goodness he did that before it was too late to save the season… I thought he’d never figure out the problem. BCS Bowl, here we come!

Wait. It’s Wednesday and Joker is still the coach? Egads!

He should institute a “not sucking at football” policy.

I wish Joker would worry about coaching and not the players on twitter. Maybe tackle and cover your man should be 1st on the list. But, I guess the stopping the tweets will save the day. Another great coach move by Joker, extend his contract now.

Drew did you take a math class at UL?
24 hours before and 24 hours after sounds like a 48 hour twitter policy.
BTW, I passed my one UK math class by the skin of my teeth.

Does anyone think we could stop teams even if we had 12 men on the field?
September 5th, 2012 at 12:26 pm
Louisville just recycled that white trash into urinal discs to be used by the SEC each week.
September 5th, 2012 at 12:37 pm
7. Obviously tweeting during the game is allowed. Didn’t you know this years uniforms have a smart phone pocket so they can tweet between plays?
September 5th, 2012 at 12:42 pm
Good idea, but that remark about the trash dump is right.
September 5th, 2012 at 12:43 pm
Seriously? This doesn’t even matter. Glad to know they CANT tweet about LOSING! #0-8SEC This team is just terrible.
September 5th, 2012 at 12:54 pm
Guess what the entire team did on Monday…. Practice…. Wrong Answer….. They went bowling after getting embarrassed by Louisville.
September 5th, 2012 at 1:00 pm
More silly rules! The players who suffer are those that twitter them before and after games with well wishes. There was an article about twitter and the players knowing the rules. Louisville can piss on the UK symbol in the urinal for 3 months before the game and then kick our behinds. Foster made a mistake in the heat of battle. Reprimand Mobley, not the team. Dumb rule!

Joker Phiilips needs to put in his 24 hour resignation!!! This is not gonna work. I dont know why the Jackass administration is being so blind. We couldnt even beat a pick up squad that had no coach in Pitt 3 years ago.

I am a big believer that Joker should be gone. Never have thought he ran the team properly. I am, however, all for letting him coach out the season because Barnhart let him have this year and that’s not Joker’s fault. In addition, Joker is a Kentucky guy (he is one of us) and he deserves respect just for that reason alone. The season will be over in due time, and we will have a new coach.
