Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, it does. FOX Sports just tweeted this picture of Anthony Davis and Christian Laettner reenacting the Laettner/Aminu Timberlake stomp from 1992.
Stop making me like you, Christian Laettner!

BEST. PICTURE. EVER
July 30th, 2012 at 10:59 am
Now I don’t hate him. I just dislike him a lot.
July 30th, 2012 at 11:04 am
Wonder who’s idea this was? If it was Anthony’s I love him even more! I loved hearing all about him yesterday on the Olympics and hearing Kentucky every time! Wonderful (and free) recruiting tool.
July 30th, 2012 at 11:05 am
KSR needs to get off laettner’s sack. Every time I see the guy on this site I vomit a little in my mouth.
July 30th, 2012 at 11:06 am
Kudos to both AD (for giving BBN what they wanted to see) and Laettner (for trying to make amends) but… I still hate you Laettner.
July 30th, 2012 at 11:07 am
That’s great, thanks for sharing. I’d bet it was Laettner’s idea but I still don’t like him. Love AD though. It would take a great deal of world-wide philanthropy for me to ever like a former Duke basketball player.
July 30th, 2012 at 11:07 am
I am starting to wonder if Laettner does this stuff because he gets more attention from the BBN than he does from the Dukies. I bet he hasn’t had two posts in a row from a Duke website since the internet was invented. And yes, I still hate him.

REVENGE OF AMINU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
July 30th, 2012 at 11:08 am
caption: “FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Absolutely the best picture ever!
July 30th, 2012 at 11:08 am
Nice!
July 30th, 2012 at 11:08 am
LOVE IT!
July 30th, 2012 at 11:08 am
Awesome pic Matt Jones! Thanks Tyler
July 30th, 2012 at 11:09 am
Totally awesome!!!
July 30th, 2012 at 11:09 am
Nice, but I really don’t like that I’m starting to like Christian Laettner…

screw u christian Lateran
July 30th, 2012 at 11:10 am
8. You are absolutely correct. I’d only think a little better of Laettner if he let Aminu stomp his a$$. Actually, I’d like to see Feldhaus punch him. That’d make me feel a lot better.
July 30th, 2012 at 11:10 am
we might have this picture but they have the shot
July 30th, 2012 at 11:10 am
Man……. Laettner seems like a nice guy!!!!!
Is he TRYING to kill me?!?!?!
July 30th, 2012 at 11:10 am
#10, Jonathan. I was thinking the exact same thing.
July 30th, 2012 at 11:12 am
Fabulous. I can’t believe haters still exist after 20 years. I’ve heard of carrying a grudge before but this is ridiculous. He hit the game winner which is exactly what Sean Woods almost did. Get over it.
July 30th, 2012 at 11:13 am
I like to imagine the stomp happening in 2010 with Cousins being the stomping victim. The thought of Laettner’s head being ripped off is really entertaining.
July 30th, 2012 at 11:13 am
I agree Laettner is making it hard to hate him … but I still do
July 30th, 2012 at 11:14 am
AD needs to pick up his left foot.
July 30th, 2012 at 11:16 am
Why should we like this dude? He’s a former Duke player, that should be enough to never be expected to like him. I can’t think of any former/current Duke, Louisville, Indiana, or North Carolina player that I can say I like. I may not loathe some as much as others, but the whole ‘get over it, it was years ago’ thing is pointless, as people just tend to dislike rivals. Wth has this dude done with his life that should make me say “I really like that Laettner dude”
July 30th, 2012 at 11:18 am
Man, I hate that guy!! But, the Heros -vs- Villians last year and this picture make me hate him a little less.
July 30th, 2012 at 11:19 am
#23 seriously? It has nothing to do with time and the fact that 20 years has past. It was the moment and how much it hurt at the time. I was watching in the Haggin hall freshman dorm and it was an absolutely brutal moment that I will never recover from. We have had lots of heartbreaking losses and buzzer beaters since(including Indiana this year) but none of them hurt quite like that. I never hated Cristian Watford for a second and that cost us the chance of an undefeated season. It still hurts whenever I think about that game and I will always hate laettner.
July 30th, 2012 at 11:22 am
Davis wasnt even alive when that game happened, prolly doesnt “Get It”
July 30th, 2012 at 11:24 am
Ok, i have officially stopped hating the guy.
July 30th, 2012 at 11:24 am
Laettner is a PR genius…..he’s slowly chipping away at the BBN.
July 30th, 2012 at 11:35 am
guhhhh – ILikeChristianLaettnerNow – guhhh… ugg.. guhhhh… ow.
July 30th, 2012 at 11:36 am
I’d rather see them re-enact “The Shot” whith Laettner being blocked by Davis or Davis being on the out of bounds guy & blocking the pass…..
July 30th, 2012 at 11:38 am
Does anyone remember when the Champions Classic tix went on sale last year? I’m ready to buy tix for this years game and I want to be prepared when they go on sale.
July 30th, 2012 at 11:39 am
Hahaha 34. I like that better. This isn’t a bad 2nd, but I would die if they re-enacted it.
July 30th, 2012 at 11:42 am
Look at the size of those shoes!!! How well I remember. We drove all night to get to the game and for this!!!
July 30th, 2012 at 11:44 am
C’mon guys, you know you love him! He also gives discounts to his Basketball Camp to Kentucky residents… lol. But seriously, he is an awesome guy. I have yet to see him at a bar in Durham where he DIDN’T buy a beer for everyone. The stomp was a little dirty, but it’s the edge and chippiness that made him and those ’91 and ’92 Duke teams so good. LOVE IT!
July 30th, 2012 at 11:48 am
Aminu a Chicago kid too. Slightly less game than AD though.
July 30th, 2012 at 11:50 am
Maybe AD was sticking up for Timberlake who also played High School ball in Chicago.
July 30th, 2012 at 11:58 am
#23 “Kentuckyjoe” why don’t get over THIS? who in the hell are you anyway? i will hate whomever i want for as long as i want. so you get over it.
July 30th, 2012 at 12:00 pm
The only difference would be Anthony would be thrown out of the game! Iam suprised a ref didn’t jump out and issue the tech and throw Anthony out… dukies for ya
But all that aside, I like christian for joking about it. But I can NEVER really like him!
July 30th, 2012 at 12:09 pm
The SOB is still laughing at us. Still don’t like him
July 30th, 2012 at 12:12 pm
No one’s asking anyone to like Laettner, but seriously, the people who “can’t get over it” need to grow up. 20 yrs ago, and we just got number 8. How many does Duke have?
July 30th, 2012 at 12:16 pm
got dat sweeten low in his pants.
July 30th, 2012 at 12:26 pm
People need to quit blaming Christian Laetner for making a shot just because Rick Pitino had his head up his ass.
July 30th, 2012 at 12:34 pm
#44 Get over this. u don’t seem to understand because Blue must not run in you like most of us. so u must be a dukie.
July 30th, 2012 at 12:34 pm
I wish that the ladies at KSR would ease off Laettner. KY got revenge in ’98. Oh, your self-esteem is based on commercials and CBS promos-Never mind.
July 30th, 2012 at 12:40 pm
#44 See what #41 said same to you a$$ ho$$.
July 30th, 2012 at 12:42 pm
so #48 by your logic they got revenge back on us in 2001. So we still owe them. I bet your not over 25 or you would make such BS.
July 30th, 2012 at 12:45 pm
Anyone else wonder if AD really even knows what he’s reenacting? Depressing thought of the day: the stomp happened before AD was even born! yikes. This had to have been engineered by Laettner. PR genius for sure.
July 30th, 2012 at 12:46 pm
I agree with others that the 92 game is history – it is in the past. As much as I wanted to see that group of kids succeed, what happened, happened. Hey, I am living in the present, still savoring #8. As far as Laettner, I would like to think that maybe he has matured and changed over the years. He may have been an arrogant prick during that game, but I personally know people that progressed from being total a-holes at one point in their lives to genuinely good people as they grow up and gain wisdom. Then again, there are certain people in this world who will never change!
July 30th, 2012 at 12:46 pm
#23, 44, 48 closet dukies not old enough to remember it.
July 30th, 2012 at 12:52 pm
hey 52, Laettner is Satan , don’t let him pull u down.
July 30th, 2012 at 12:53 pm
Awesome. Now just back in time and miss that jump shot and we’re even.
July 30th, 2012 at 1:08 pm
November 13th in Atlanta is going to be epic. I may have to buy a Laettner throwback jersey for that game
July 30th, 2012 at 2:13 pm
catsforever…you are a piece. What does “get over this” mean? You are telling people you will hate who you want…and then turn around and tell them who to hate and that they are Dukies. You are the guy that gives BBN haters ammo.
July 30th, 2012 at 2:16 pm
57 are u a dukie lover? poor baby. You get over it.
July 30th, 2012 at 2:20 pm
Not a closet “dukie”, been a UK fan since I knew what basketball was. I am, however, an adult, and sporting events that happened 20 years ago don’t continue to ruin my life. catsforever – get out and live a little, maybe you won’t have to cry into your bourbon every night like some scorned lover.
July 30th, 2012 at 2:23 pm
where do you people get off telling someone to “get over it”, who do u think u are anyway. if these people dont want to “get over it” thats their businesess. its fun to be a laettner (Duke) hater.
July 30th, 2012 at 2:28 pm
He was a great sport during the legends game. No animosity toward him whatsoever. Guys, he was just a punky kid at Duke.
July 30th, 2012 at 2:30 pm
I gotta say, I kind of like the guy. He doesn’t seem to be short on humility. IMO, people shouldn’t hate him because he played a great game in 92. He did what team leaders should do…step up when their team needs them. As for the Aminu fiasco, it was a little dirty, but c’mon, this past season Teague mastered the “nutcracker”. There’s no telling how many people caught some overly-aggressive Boogie elbows a couple years ago. Bottom line, I’m not condoning dirty play, but I do think having a little edge fuels the competitive fire.
July 30th, 2012 at 2:42 pm
I was at the legends game (got my “I Hate Laettner” T-shirt there). makes no difference if he is an ok guy and a good sport, he probablly is, but its still fun to “Hate” him.
July 30th, 2012 at 2:45 pm
Nice to see so many practical and realist UK fans. There’s always that 1 sour apple of the bunch (i’m looking at you, catsforever).
July 30th, 2012 at 3:00 pm
no i’m looking at you Will. so what.. get over it. ha are caring a grudge?
July 30th, 2012 at 3:54 pm
Here is a practical idea #64 go to a duke site. You are nothing but a troll.
July 30th, 2012 at 4:05 pm
66 good idea…
July 30th, 2012 at 5:18 pm
Who is worse: Laettner or Bobby Knight? I think Robert Montgomery is much more evil. He didn’t hurt us as badly in one game, but he was, and still is, a lying UK hater.
July 30th, 2012 at 7:02 pm
Love this picture! Love AD even more, & I still hate Laettner (not as much though, dammit!)!
July 30th, 2012 at 10:01 pm
nice pic but remember no man is a prophet in his own country.
July 30th, 2012 at 10:23 pm
#66 One sour apple! Someone tells you to get off on every post. We don’t want you, need you, or care what you have to say. Take your Duke ass to where you belong troll.
July 31st, 2012 at 11:51 am
When Duke gives back that national championship for the illegal advantage they gained from Laettner’s terrible sportsmanship and the absent foul call, then MAYBE I’ll think about trying to like him. But, right now I can’t see it happening.
