July 10th, 2012 at 10:12 am
Can we get the home/away breakdown?
July 10th, 2012 at 10:12 am
Disapointing that we couldn’t work something out with Murray. Would have been nice to play them
July 10th, 2012 at 10:13 am
Is that Lafayette High School in Lexington we are playing on November 16th?
July 10th, 2012 at 10:14 am
17-0…
July 10th, 2012 at 10:14 am
Nevermind. Read, idiot.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:17 am
Complete garbage for a home schedule. Really dissapointing. I guarantee there are significant empty seats for Portland, Lipscomb, and Marshall. Even the BBN will be annoyed at these crappy games after sitting through 6-7 of them.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:17 am
When do tickets go on sale for the Kentucky Baylor game?????? and cant wait to beat Duke, gonna feel great.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:18 am
cupcake feast for the most part at home
July 10th, 2012 at 10:19 am
Other than four games this schedule is embarrassing.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:19 am
Northwood. Sounds kinda raunchy. hmmm, what’s the scoop on that school?
July 10th, 2012 at 10:19 am
I think its fine-some of the names will be good in conf play. No game in freedom hall? that stinks.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:19 am
In Cal we Trust!
July 10th, 2012 at 10:19 am
I’m happy with this. I love watching Kentucky play and the only significant upgrade would’ve been if we had played Indiana. Not much to complain about when they will keep the home winning streak alive, and still prepare for playing good teams with Duke, Maryland, UofL, Notre Dame, and Baylor.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:20 am
Yes it is a crappy set of games for Rupp but to say that there will be empty seats is laughable. Those who don’t want to go see all these crappy games will either give their tickets away or sell them. By far the weakest schedule Cal has had.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:20 am
Brian Long and Sam Malone don’t even get to practice for the most part. They often do the same work as managers during practice.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:21 am
Do you want final four banners or do you want to see the Cats play somebody in Rupp every year? In Cal I trust!!!! Isn’t North Carolina coming back to schedule next year anyway?
July 10th, 2012 at 10:21 am
I’ll admit that I’m a bit ticked at this schedule. For the extra $200 I’m going to have to pay for tickets this year, I’m not impressed.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:22 am
I’m happy with the home schedule. I very rarely get tickets anyway so who am I to care?
July 10th, 2012 at 10:22 am
I am dissapointed there is not another good home game, but anyone who thinks this schedule is embarrassing needs to check what other teams play in non conference. It won’t be the strongest, but it will be far from the weakest.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:24 am
northWOOD-sounds like a team pitino would want to play.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:24 am
7- Wrong. Rupp will be close to capacity, if not sold out, for these games. Many fans go to these games because season ticket holders give them away or, fans buy these games because they can afford to go to them. The non-conference schedule has been debated every other year because UNC/UL have been home in the same year. This will change next year. Also, UK is helping local schools like Morehead and Marshall. I have no problem w/ it.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:26 am
18- this is the home schedule you get every other year. This is 1 reason the UNC series was put on hold for a year.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:29 am
Weaker squad = weaker schedule.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:31 am
What do you expect? UK is not going to play home and home or 2 for 1 with a dangerous mid major like Butler. Indiana series was dropped for obvious reasons.Duke and Maryland are on neutral courts. UK has to visit UL this year and was slated to be the road team in the SEC-Big East challenge. The Baylor series will pay dividends next season at Texas Stadium. Just enjoy Kyle Wiltjer doing his Kyle Korver impersonation en route to a top 5 ranking.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:32 am
I am really excited to watch these games this year, I am also excited they raised the ticket prices on me this year….this is the worst home RUPP schedule I have ever seen, since I have been a season ticket holder…disappointed in the home schedule….the big venue games are needed and wonderful however, dont give the fans who come to watch ever game, nothing to cheer about….looks like the home undefeated streak will continue at least until SEC Play begins after Jan 2 smh
July 10th, 2012 at 10:32 am
20) Exactly right. Look at Syracuse. They don’t leave the state of New York until Big East play. Not to mention Cal’s won as many titles and been to as many Final Fours in the past 8 years as Boeheim has in 35+
July 10th, 2012 at 10:33 am
Only one good home game. Season ticket holders get ripped off once again! If we are only goint to play bad teams just play all the state schools and keep the money in Kentucky.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:34 am
23 — I realize that. But have you ever tried to sell tickets to games that you can’t attend? I’m paying for two upper level tickets which now will cost around $80 / game for the pair. I’ll be lucky to recover half that price for those games. I am fortunate to have tickets, but I’m not a fan of losing money.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:34 am
Some of you need to examine the non-conference schedule for other schools. This is one of the stronger ones for high profile teams. That’s just how it is.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:34 am
Why anyone would go to most of these home games is amazing to me. Maybe if you got to sit on the bench or ticket comes with a fruit basket or something. There is NO entertainment value to most of ‘em.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:35 am
Would like to see in state games if we are just playing tune ups murray, western, eastern, bellarmine, georgetown college all would be guarenteed crowd draws people like seeing their alma mater play their favorite team. Biggest plus, keeps those payouts in state. Same goes for football.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:35 am
Not bad but would’ve liked to seen games VS Indiana and @UNC
July 10th, 2012 at 10:36 am
22- you are actually wrong. I’m a junior at UK this fall. I’ve seen these games, gone to lotteries and have say outside the Craft center for tickets. The exehibitions are always under 3/4th capacity and the weak non conference games there is a ring of empty seats in the upper deck ever game. UK does not sell out or get close to selling out crappy games. It is extremely easy to get tickets to bad games. Last year, the tickets to te first SEC game (South Carolina) didn’t sell out and they ended opening the ERUPPTION Zone to te general public.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:36 am
Northwood is exb. people and if people do not want to go….stay home.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:37 am
Are we playing Northwood from Texas? If so then this is their first season?
http://www.northwood.edu/media/pressroom/newsarchives/article/2012/northwood-university-will-add-a-basketball-program-for-the-2012-2013-season.aspx
July 10th, 2012 at 10:40 am
It doesn’t matter what the schedule/results are someone is always going to piss and moan. Either you’re a fan and you support the team and the administration or you’re not. There are more important things to get upset about than a basketball schedule. Calipari and Barnhart have proven they can produce a winner. Easier teams allows Cal to get the new players acclimated to his style of play and the neutral sites get them acclimated to the tournament environment. Playing all your games in Rupp whether tough or not will not have you ready for a final four setting.
For those of you moaning about IU not being on the schedule, you were obviously not subject to the physical threats of many fans in Bloomington last year.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:40 am
If you are mad please go look at the 2010-2011 schedule. Not any better than this years Home schedule and that team still went to a Final Four. If you don’t want to go to the games, don’t because I would kill to have season tickets.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:42 am
That Duke/Kentucky game…… GAME OF THE YEAR! Should be a great one, as long as Nerlens is eligible.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:44 am
This schedule is about as good as anybody’s… that being said, we play in the weak SEC so we really could have used the IU game at home this year, or anywhere for the matter. Still have a hard time figuring that one out.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:46 am
31 — Disagree that there is no entertainment value to most of those games. Watching a Calipari-coached Kentucky basketball team by itself is entertaining enough. Cal has brought in great players and they are worth the price of admission to watch. In the past, though, I would have agreed with you as our teams were not nearly as fun to watch.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:46 am
Cal is cashing in some of his national championship equity by scheduling crap non-conference home games. Have fun paying the increased ticket prices for Samford and Eastern Michigan.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:46 am
29- yes, I have tried to sell those… I typically give them away or sell at low cost. Adding to the price of season tickets is really adding to have season tickets…. UK knows we will not give that option up. I am content knowing that we will play cupcakes at home. Every team does.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:46 am
and #37, I WAS at Bloomington last year, and why would that make me scared? I want them to come to our place worse than ever, yeah it sucked getting harassed at the game but really if that makes you scared to play IU you are just weak.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:48 am
31 – people will go. they always do. in fact, this should be a good year for charity from the season ticket holders, at least in the non-conference. A lot of free games to be had in this bunch.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:49 am
36) If that’s the Northwood we’re playing, their AD’s name is Jack Allday…
July 10th, 2012 at 10:51 am
Think about the team that you got to watch last year. It doesn’t matter who they played. That team was awesome and was a collection of talent you couldn’t find on many NBA teams.
This year’s team may not be that good, but still there are some great players who are certainly worth the price of the ticket.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:51 am
This schedule is a joke
July 10th, 2012 at 10:51 am
43 – I don’t mind some/most cupcakes, but with Baylor being the top non-conference team, it’s hard to get excited over that. This is typically the off year (no UL / no UNC) and I’m used to that. But at some point, there is a price to where it might not be worth it. I’m sure folks with claim that I’m a ‘bad’ fan or not a ‘true’ fan, but I work my butt off for my money and I hate to throw it away.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:52 am
34- Really???? UK basketball averaged 23,723/ game… Listed capacity is 23,500. With that said, the tickets are already sold. If people buy and dont show up, it doesnt hurt UK. Longtime season ticket holders understand what they are getting with the OOC schedule.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:52 am
If you have lower level seats you want to sell at a reasonable price, just let me know. I don’t care who they are playing. It’s the experience of going to Rupp Arena and watching the greatest college basketball team play. I guess those of you who only have to drive an hour or less to see a game don’t understand that.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:52 am
Not a huge fan of the schedule but it really isnt that bad. It will probably be a good schedule for this team – having a few legitimate tests while maintaining a good record to allow for a higher seeding in the tournament. Makes sense to me.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:52 am
If you don’t want to go give me your tickets. I’ll go to every game.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:53 am
You can’t say for certain that Louisville will be the favorite on their home floor in the basketball game. You have no idea who will be the favorite in that game at this point.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:56 am
I think the schedule is great. Let’s not forget we will be more inexperienced than any team Calipari has had here at UK. This schedule is plenty tough enough in my opinion, for a few reasons:
1) A few neutral site games against Major-Conference teams
2) Tough road game @ Notre Dame
3) Road game against the possible #1-ranked team in the nation
4) Home game against a Final Four team
And let’s not forget we now have a TOUGH SEC conference schedule, with more games than we’ve ever had. You have to take the schedule as a whole, and I think it’s going to be great.
July 10th, 2012 at 10:57 am
55) by Final Four I meant elite 8! sorry!
July 10th, 2012 at 11:00 am
Did you have a simular experience as the bingo episode on curb your enthusiasm?
July 10th, 2012 at 11:01 am
Weak out of conference schedule and weak sec schedule… i thought cal wanted to challenge his teams and play “anyone, anywhere” except IU.
July 10th, 2012 at 11:01 am
51 – I would disagree. Those of us that drive less than an hour are no less of a fan. I love my UK basketball. But looking at your post, you want lower level seats. What about uppers? That’s what I have and fewer people want to buy those from me.
July 10th, 2012 at 11:04 am
This is a very solid schedule and will be ranked in the 20 toughest in the country. A neutral site game with Duke, at Louisville and at Notre Dame and a home game with Baylor is nothing to sneeze at. That said, it’s fair to say that there is a bit of a drop-off in the quality of our home schedule, but only because last year we had two legitimate elite games at home (Louisville and UNC). Two years ago, the home schedule was probably weaker overall than this one. I don’t think we played any final four teams from the previous season in that year’s home schedule.
July 10th, 2012 at 11:08 am
#59. I’ve only sat in upper for the past 23 years except for midnight madness, a blue-white game, and the game between the 96 and 98 teams. I have no problem with upper level seats. I just try to sit no higher than 10 rows up in the top anymore. Sorry you took offense to my post. I wasn’t calling out everybody. People have a choice on if they want season tickets or not.
July 10th, 2012 at 11:10 am
Everyone whining needs to remember that if we lose games, it’s like the sky is falling. Given how many new guys we have every year, Cal is going to schedule cupcakes as often as possible so he can afford to have players make mistakes and still win and have a great record and momentum going into SEC play. Also, he schedules teams that will be beatable but play a similar style to a team we’ll see later.
I do miss seeing UNC and Indiana, though.
July 10th, 2012 at 11:10 am
Pathetic HOME schedule. Certainly NOT worth the increased required donation and increased ticket prices.
July 10th, 2012 at 11:11 am
Sure would like to have played Indiana. Looked forward to that game more than any other on the schedule, maybe with the exception of Louisville. Love beating their butts both in the same year!
July 10th, 2012 at 11:17 am
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BUT ONE BIG LONG BOOOOO! UKs non confernece has become a cake walk except for Duke and Loserville. I think Ill do what I do with the NBA.. start watching during the playoffs.
July 10th, 2012 at 11:17 am
You gotta put me in there babyyyyyyy…Handsome Jimmy babyyyyyy.
July 10th, 2012 at 11:17 am
61 – no problem and thanks for the clarification. I tend to get defensive when folks are too good for uppers when we offer seats. It happens more than folks might realize. It is indeed a long walk to the top but well worth it to cheer on the Cats.
July 10th, 2012 at 11:24 am
So glad I get to go watch us play Portland at Rupp on 12.8 instead of vs. a top 5 Indiana team.
UGH.

Northwood (FL) University; NAIA DII; coached by Rollie Massimino (coached Villanova when they beat Georgetown in 1985 NCAA Tourny)
July 10th, 2012 at 11:41 am
This home schedule is not very appealing to me, as a season ticketholder. I know a lot of readers might say “Then let someone else have your tickets,” but not too many would be happy to pay the K Fund “donation” price. I just wish there were more games at home against interesting opponents. Morehead and Baylor are the only ones I will pay attention to after they play UK.
July 10th, 2012 at 11:48 am
One word for the home schedule–SUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKKKSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!
July 10th, 2012 at 11:49 am
duke and baylor only two games thatll be a game
July 10th, 2012 at 12:00 pm
If I was Mitch it would be hard to look a season ticket holder in the eye and ask for more money……
July 10th, 2012 at 12:07 pm
For anyone that bristles at season ticket holders grumbling about this schedule, consider that the season tickets that my family has will cost a total of $5,400 for 2 lower arena tickets – or $135 PER TICKET PER GAME (based on last year’s ticket cost + required K-Fund contribution and not considering the recent price increases).
I love it that my family has 2 season tickets in the lower arena, but I don’t go to the games and I don’t have to pay for the tickets. It is possible that I will someday, and if so I will likely ask myself whether I really want to pay $135 PER TICKET to watch the likes of Lafayette, Long Island, Samford, and Lipscomb just for the “right” to pay the same to watch one “marquee” game and a mediocre SEC schedule.
On a related note, our football tickets cost $103 PER TICKET PER GAME (not counting parking permit), which is why after nearly 30 years they were finally given up.
July 10th, 2012 at 12:09 pm
Pushing for a undefeated season?
July 10th, 2012 at 12:18 pm
Man, that is downright embarrassing! I love me some Cal, but our non-con schedule looks more like an elementary school girls’ team than the great program in college bball history!
July 10th, 2012 at 12:18 pm
Yeah, this schedule is awful. But for next season only, I’ll consider Missouri and Texas A&M almost like non-conference games.
July 10th, 2012 at 12:29 pm
Were people bitching about the home slate 2 years ago? Guess what, that schedule was weaker than this. Our “Marquee” home game that year was IU. We beat them by 19. That “Marquee” IU squad went on to lose 18 of final 21 games, not even making the NIT. This years Baylor team, while not this years IU team, is ten times better than the IU team from 2 years ago. No one is even talking about SEC home games, which should be pretty good this year. Get over it people. We just won a National Championship. You’re paying a ticket increase for success. That’s life. Don’t like it, scalp the crappy games; people will still by clawing to see the DEFENDING CHAMPS play.
July 10th, 2012 at 12:34 pm
And for people saying it sucks, well guess what, when UL and IU are your preseason favorites, college basketball is down. However you’ll maybe find a handful of teams in the country that play a tougher non-con schedule. ESPN Preseason Rankings UL(2), Baylor(11), Duke(15), Notre Dame(19), and then you have Maryland who is in their “Not to Sleep on” list. THIS IS A GOOD STRONG SCHEDULE PEOPLE…
July 10th, 2012 at 12:35 pm
Cal’s goal is to have an undefeated season, no matter what. Playing teams like Indiana is a threat to that, so they get axed from the schedule, despite the history involved. As a result, this kind of powder-puff schedule is what the fans get because of his selfish quest to boost his legacy. In other words, it’s all about Cal.
July 10th, 2012 at 12:36 pm
#79: Good to hear even the “crappy games” tickets are so in demand. Please forward your contact information so my family can “scalp” their tickets for Lafayette and Lipscomb to you this year. Heck, we won’t even scalp them, but instead we will sell them to you for the true value of $135 per ticket. If you call in the next 30 minutes we will even offer the same deal for Long Island and Samford….
July 10th, 2012 at 12:41 pm
Yeah, we have been bitching about the crappy slate of home games and the cost for years. Just imagine how it was during the Gillispie era when the schedule AND the team were awful.
And, the notion that all the other teams have crappy schedules too doesn’t really help. That just means every “elite” program is shafting their fans with these ticket prices and “donation” amounts for barely watchable games.
July 10th, 2012 at 12:42 pm
This is what you get with a “players first” program. Fans get the shaft so that pre-NBAers can protect their fragile egos!!!
July 10th, 2012 at 12:48 pm
At least you will play those tough SEC basketball teams!
July 10th, 2012 at 12:59 pm
82) I didn’t realize this was first year UK didn’t schedule 11 BCS conference team home games. I must have missed those UVA, Duke, Texas Tech, Oregon, Wisconsin, Syracuse, Virgina Tech, Miami, Pitt, Iowa, Arizona State home games last year. Come on, they play these cupcake teams every year at home. Absolutely NOTHING new in that. And those crappy games were in demand. You don’t lead the nation in attendance over the past 15 years by not attending the crappy games. The weak schedule has always been masked by the UNC-UL game every other year. Look at the home docket two years ago, it was worse than this. In fact every year we didn’t play them (UNC-UL)at home we had IU at home and they have been pathetic. That’s why Cal opted out of the UNC game this year so that every year from now on you’ll get either UNC or UL at home. I understand wanting to have great games at home, but this is how Cal is scheduling, and quite frankly how Tubby and BCG scheduled as well; either accept it or don’t buy it. Now if you have been complaining about home scheduling for the past 20 years then you may have a point. But these people who have come out of woodwork today sound stupid.
July 10th, 2012 at 1:00 pm
pretty weak, but at this point I don’t think it’s possible to schedule a hard non conference season for us. We demolish everybody! I love King Cal! Go Cats! Let’s Get #9
July 10th, 2012 at 1:06 pm
81) yep all about Cal. even though he asked the fans and an overwhelming majority said dump IU. He’s getting his team ready for later. If you don’t wanna go cheer I will.
July 10th, 2012 at 1:06 pm
Man You guys need to calm down. I really doubt anyone, or rather, many ppl that come on here and actually comment either :A – have the money to buy lower level seats or b; have a rich family who they inherited them from. So as those seats are the big $$$$ calm down and just watch it on tv.
Second. It’s a little soft at home but go look at the other top programs.. and compare those i’m sure that uk will be on par.
Go cats!
July 10th, 2012 at 1:07 pm
RUPPS_rhetoric: Maybe I should just put it this way, in a general question to the people that come to this blog: Would you be happy to pay $135 PER TICKET PER GAME for lower arena seats to UK basketball games, given the above listed schedule and the typical SEC slate?
July 10th, 2012 at 1:14 pm
90) If I could afford it, yes. Right now UK is putting a premier product on the floor. The waiting list is YEARS long. The market bears it. So to answer your question, If I had that type of disposable income right now, yes I would. But I don’t. Now if they jacked prices up during the BCG years, then yes I would agree that the product doesn’t dictate the price. But we have 2 straight Final Fours with a National Championship coupled with a rabid, passionate fan base. In a way, our own passion is driving these prices to outrageous heights because we’ll pay it.
July 10th, 2012 at 1:19 pm
I’m a typical R-tard Uk fan: I demand the best coach every! I demand that we play a non-conf schedule of: Duke, IU, UNC, Kansas, Pitt, Michigan State, Uconn, Syracuse, Ohio State, Louisville, Baylor, Texas, UCLA(only when they’re good)! I demand that we win EVERYONE of these games or I will call for the coach to Fired and the AD. I demand to pay $5 ticket but expect to have a state of the art arena! I demand to loss ZERO games every year. I demand to have the #1-10 recruites EVERY YEAR and the MUST stay all four years!!! Oh and half should be from Kentucky so I demand you make all kentucky High school make the kids Taller and better or you’ll hear about it from me.
I demand Kentucky Sports Radio only write about thinks I like and they must first run it by me before posting it other wise I will Bring Hel L with me.
I demand everyone in the world MUST like UK basketball and only say nice things about it.
I demand the NCAA not do it’s job, at least when it comes to UK, a flag ship university that has the eye of EVERYONE in the country.
And finally I demand Coach Cal serve me lunch every third saturday so I can tell him how he should be running MY team and who I want recruited.
If my Demands are not meet I will make sure to tell EVERYONE about it FOREVER!!!!!
July 10th, 2012 at 1:24 pm
Ok, that is 1 NO.
And, actually, there isn’t really a waiting list. There is a yearly lottery for upper arena season tickets, and there is a “show me the money” list for lower arena tickets. By that I mean that if you called up UK Athletics / K-Fund and said you had $100,000 to “donate” they would find you some lower arena tickets.
July 10th, 2012 at 1:24 pm
I know the non-conference isn’t stellar at home, and if my $ was out there I wouldn’t be overjoyed, but most people can’t get tickets at all. The bottom line is CAL set his schedule to get the cupcakes in early and it’s very comparable to football by volume of games to the # of cupcakes they play. I just think CAL wants to bring his perpetual Freshman Team along more slowly. He can do it the other way, but this incoming class has nowhere to go but down and that’s pretty tough especially for freshman.
But to play UNC, IU and UofL every year is strong. So instead you play Duke, Baylor and UofL. Yes Baylor won’t be as good as IU next year, but it’s in the ballpark.
Bring on Puke! Go For 9.
July 10th, 2012 at 1:31 pm
1st #92 – Awesome
2nd – Looks think gang. This is a VERY YOUNG TEAM with little exp. Therefore, it would be wise not to play lets say the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls the first 5 games. It takes time to get them up and running at this higher level. There is still a learning curve even with great talent when you make a sports level jump. If you actually played high school to college to pro’s you’d know this. I myself went thru college in a sport and I’ll tell you first. EVERYONE was as fast as I was where as in high school it wasn’t the case.
So calm down. We just won a National Title. We all knew and know that this year may be a little ‘down’ compaired. Chill and enjoy this ride cause I’d give Cal 2-5 years ONLY he’ll be here moving forward.
Go UK

Welcome to reality Rupp fans.
Cal has a plan.
North Carolina and Louisville will be the big home game of the season and will rotate. Cal doesn’t want to play both on the road or at home each year.
Kentucky will play two games a year in a large dome against the marquee to get them ready for the tournament. Crean didn’t understand this.
Cal has said that he did not prepare the 2010 and 2011 teams by not playing in the domes, and he feels that was a factor.
HOME GAMES DON’T PREPARE YOUR TEAM FOR THE SIGHTLINES OF A DOME, AND DO NOT PREPARE THE BOYS FOR THE TOURNAMENT. How many threes did Taylor hit for Kansas in a dome this year?

Dropping UNC sucks ass

Big bad Kensucky. What a joke you guys are. Duke will beat you by 30 and I cant wait to watch it. Too bad Indiana hurt your feelings last year because that would be another 30 point loss.

Hey #98, did your feeble hoosier mind repress the memories of KY stomping IU at the Ggeorgia Dome in the tournament on the way to their 8th national title?

People keep in mind we don’t have any veteran players to compete very early on in the season. You can’t over schedule look what happened to Izzo’s team few years ago. If you are ready to loose 3-4 games in the first 10 or so games, I am sure Cal will schedule big time opponents. Plus no big time opponents is going to play UK in Rupp Arena without a return trip to their place. I think it’s a pretty descent schedule for a very young team. We are UK, we are always hunted.

The blue tinted CAL-apologists can try and pimp this schedule as much as they want to, but anyone with common sense isn’t buying it. I’m sorry, but we scheduled four teams with RPI’s over 200 last year. What is the point of that? Maybe one or two cupcake games like that, but four teams that are incredibly awful serves absolutely no purpose. It actually hurts us more than anything come tournament time when its time for seeding. Very dissapointed in CAL right now.

96 – Glad you think that CAL has a plan. He threw you the hook and you fell for it like you do every word that comes out of his mouth. I’m sorry, but I don’t care if we win 10 titles in a row. I’m not satisfied with the schedule and won’t be under any circumstances. I would rather have a few more losses and play the #1 schedule in the country. This is just a joke.

95 – Im not expecting us to play the Chicago Bulls. The early part of the schedule is actually OK. Maryland, Duke, Notre Dame, and Baylor are 4 of our first 7 games. Thats respectable. After Dec 1st against Baylor, we don’t play a meaningful game until December 29th. We get four consecutive cupcakes. Why not make one of these games against a legitimate team? Im not saying we have to play IU or UNC, but give us Cincy, Memphis, Georgia Tech…or somebody. Not saying these teams are great, but they aren’t Samford, Portland, and Lipstick University.

103. What happens in December? Finals and Christmas. Calm down. I don’t give a crap about the schedule…I care about hanging #9.

98. Hahaha suck our ring. Keith Smart is 47 years old now and you havent done dick since he let go of a lucky baseline jumper. IU will fail and fail and fail again as per usual (like the last 25 years). You fired your best coach years ago amid scandal (oh wait which one?) and he wont even say your name. I could care less if the games are down for one year. We get UNC back next year and then U of L and UNC rotate so you always have one or the other at Rupp. If you dont want to go to these games I know plenty who will pay for your uppers. Patience grasshoppers. We are champs and the man is working his plan out. It takes a little time. 3 years, two final fours, one title, sec titles, sec tourney titles, top recruiting classes….and we are complaining about one year of a down schedule? I’m absolutely thrilled to pay and watch what is better than a golden era of Kentucky basketball.

I have two sets of of upper level. My wife and I have two sons. It will cost me about $3000 for the tickets. Double that if you go to each game. I think it’s pretty sorry that you have one decent non conference game and 4 or 5 good conference games. Would anyone like to buy the nonconference games at face value?

104 – Cal is doing his best job to try and prevent us from winning #9 by killing our RPI which will hurt us on selection sunday. Also, our reputation of scheduling tough games is now at an all time low. Cal did his best job to insult the fans with this one.
