If you think that guy playing the bass guitar in the photos from this country music video shoot looks like Joker Phillips, it’s because that guy playing the bass guitar in the photos from this country music video shoot is Joker Phillips. UK’s head football coach teamed up with rising country music star JD Shelburne for his debut music video, “Farmboy”, that was shot over the weekend in Taylorsville, Kentucky. Shelburne is a UK grad and a big fan of the Cats.
I actually heard JD Shelburne play at a bar in Nashville the weekend of the Vanderbilt basketball game this past season. The night is a little fuzzy, because it was so long ago, and I was parched, but I remember him showing a lot of love for UK during his set.
We’ll definitely be posting the “Farmboy” video when it’s released. Joker isn’t letting this one sneak by.

I’m not a country music fan, but JD seems like a good dude. He’s donating his time to play a benefit concert in Shelbyville on the 21st to help out a local woman with cancer. Between that and UK fandom, I hope he gets big.
