Auburn QB Zeke Pike Arrested for Public Intoxication

by @ 9:57 pm. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

Auburn QB and Kentucky high school standout  Zeke Pike, was arrested Saturday night for public intoxication. He was later released on a $300 bond. Zeke Pike and Patrick Towles were two of the biggest names to come out of Kentucky high school football last season, both high-profile recruits signing with SEC schools. Kentucky signed Towles. Auburn signed Pike. It would appear that at this point, Kentucky got the better end of the deal.

Pike attended Dixie Heights and came out of high school ranked as a 5-star prospect. He was was expected as a true freshman to compete for the starting spot for the Tigers with Kiehl Frazier and  Clint Moseley.

In all seriousness, the kid appears to have a bright future on the football field. Hopefully he can work through these off the field issues.

    Dodged a bullet there.

  2. NKYCatsFan Says:

Anyone from Northern Kentucky will say that Kentucky got the better end of the deal.

  3. NKYCatsFan Says:

Unfortunately for Pike this isn’t the first issue that’s come up. I’m hoping he can put it behind him and have a great career at Auburn in order to rep NKY, but he’s got to stop riding on his Dad’s coattails.

  4. gr8ness Says:

Sounds like he should have went up ULoL.

  5. YMPGB3 Says:

18 year old kid drunk in public? Oh my lord!!! Yes, it does look like UK got the better of the deal….SMdreads

  6. MattJonesisTheEricDanielsofUKMedia Says:

I do not know how it happened, but most 18 years old have drank alcohol, so it does not make him trouble.

  7. UKfan Says:

Pike is trouble and was always a problem for his team mates while at pike. Through the high school coaching grapevine, he smoked salvia before a football game and has always been a distraction in the locker room

  8. UKfan Says:

    while at Dixie Heights*

  9. Rumor Says:

Isn’t there a rumor that Zeke got with that Ben-Gal turned teacher? In addition to being high as a kite during HS…

  10. yourmom Says:

also he was a 3 star on rivals

  11. mores Says:

Anyone from Northern Kentucky knows that this is probably just the start. Kid has major attitude problems.

  12. WhatSheOrder?FishFilet? Says:

    lol at pregame salvia

  13. Johnny Says:

Pike actually smoked spice (synthetic marijuana).before a game, but he is a jackass.

  14. thats budda Says:

In the locker room before a game. Destroyed that whole team with his attitude and behavior at Dixie. Been pampered and coddled his whole life. Can’t find anything like that on Towles. He better be good at Auburn or the truoble won’t be worth it and he will be playing at a JuCo. I know you shouldn’t bash a kid but if you were ever around him……..

  15. ukfan#1 Says:

This is not the first time he’s been in trouble, he was caught smoking before school and even games, and he was even kicked out of his own prom for being drunk. If you talk to anyone up north they’d all say UK got the good end of the deal on the field and off the field. And if anyone doesn’t agree with that, just look up the stats from the Highlands-Dixie Heights game and you’ll be convinced.

  16. Biglaw Dawgin' Says:

I’ve always thought that was one of KY’s dumber laws. As Ron White says, “I didn’t want to be drunk in public, I wanted to be drunk in the bar.”

  17. bigblueyoda Says:

he’s a lookin like ryan leaf

  18. lol Says:

He was actually a 3 star on most sites by the time he graduated high school. He was grossly overrated during his entire recruiting process, and analysts reacted accordingly after his disastrous senior season. I’m surprised he ever made it to Auburn.

  19. Matt in Franklin Says:

So what will Auburn do about this? Goin to be interesting to see what our fellow SEC members do about this kind of thing…

  20. DixiePride Says:

I’ve been in the same school as Pike since the third grade and he is nothing but trouble. I honestly was livid when I heard he was going to Auburn. He is a terrible person on and off the field. I don’t mean to just sit here and bash him but he doesn’t deserve what he has. Pike went as far as to threaten to injure another player so he could get the starting position over him, who in my opinion is a much better QB(Ryan Willson who now attends Georgetown).

  21. pioneer Says:

    One word describes this ginger…..TURD

  22. You'reAllJealous Says:

First of all, it wasn’t Salvia it was synthetic weed, which is legal. That doesn’t make it right, but it makes is a whole lot less wrong and he wasn’t the only kid doing it, just the only one thrown under the bus for it.
ALSO, Zeke is NOT the one who had sex with the Bengals cheerleader, I can 100% assure you that. Don’t go throwing rumors around when you know NOTHING about the situation. I was never a fan of Zeke until I met him. He is a nice kid at heart but he makes some bad choices, how many of you can say that you never drank at the age of 18? Not many. So hop off your high horses and be supportive of a potential great thing for KY. And he isn’t a ginger either “pioneer” so again, get your facts straight. The kid is a great athlete and has the potential to do great things in his future, true he needs to get his head on straight, but do you really think trash talking him on a website is going to help that? Grow up.

  23. Pride Says:

I personally don’t know zeke other then playing against him in football growing up and in basketball in high school, but from what I seen the kid is an athlete sure his last name is Pike but that only gets people so far. Obviously he has the athletic potential to do great things or else he wouldnt have been recruited by such a sec power house as Auburn. He is young all young kids make mistakes and grow as a the years come so in my opinion all these northern Kentucky people bashing zeke should support him and hope he succeeds and amounts to big things repoing the state of Kentucky! Good luck Zeke!

  24. jimbob Says:

Zeke has left UA for the summer. He made ESPN’s website since he was running his mouth on twitter to the Bama fans. He was also caught trying to lure recruits to UA (wonder how long the NCAA will ignore this) yes kids like to run their mouths but not as much as Zeke does. Must be nice to have a daddy bail ya out of everything.

  25. Colonel Says:

I do not know Zeke personally but followed his high school career as I attended the same high school quite a few years before him. He obviously has made some poor decisions in his young adult life but this has little to do with him being a tremendous athlete. He played offense and defense his junior year and by far was the best athlete on the team. His absence on the basketball team his senior season to concentrate on football in my opinion cost Dixie a shot at the state title. People are always quick to point out his dad has “bailed” him out but I don’t see the harm in a father sticking up for his son. I am sure quite a few people have been “bailed” out and helped by their own parents growing up in certain situations. I hope he gets it figured out and lets his athleticism speak for itself. I don’t think you can argue he has not helped himself with this arrest but

  26. aufangetonit Says:

yall done understand. auburn is a country town and we drink alot here cause nothing else here to do. I back zeek up all the way. Good luck zp, hope u on the team this fall. war eagle baby!!
