– That bright light is the meteor that causes the apocalypse, according to some –
Serious question.
With the large crowd of people steaming from the ears about how LeBron is either a) a traitor, b) a coward, c) a primadonna, or d) a fourth quarter ghost, it’s hard to imagine what the reaction will be if the Miami Heat can win the NBA Finals. Will mother earth collapse because evil as won? (Personally, I like the heat, but some may argue they are ‘evil’ because they decided to tag-team the NBA.) Will the opposing fans of other NBA teams conglomerate and cause a jersey-burning that destroy America’s forests? Or will you of UofL fans unite in their hate for LBJ+UK+Cal and spark a nuclear fallout?
Either way, we are inching closer to finding out if a Heat title will spark the end of the world. Tonight, the Heat are at home in Miami and down 29-14 in the first quarter as of this posting. Despite the early lead, NBA swings happen easily. Looks like the Thunder came to play tonight, so the Heat will have to battle. With a 2-1 lead in the series and having already stolen a road game from OKC, the odds are certainly in Miami’s favor for the series still.
Anyone who watches the NBA Finals knows that a 2-1 lead means little, as anything could happen. However, a win tonight, and the James & Co. are one win away from sealing the deal. The Mavericks put on a show last year to storm back and win the title, but it’s hard to see the Heat relinquishing a 3-1 series lead if they get it. I enjoy watching both of these team’s play (except when Westbrook acts a fool or when LBJ disappears, then it’s frustrating), so I won’t be mad regardless. I’d like to see LeBron get a ring and show the world that taking less money to get a title wasn’t such a bad idea after all. But it would also be cool to see Nazr sport more bling.
What do you see happening if the Heat win? Will the haters quiet up? Will UofL fans post bitter Facebook updates and tweets as if their favorite candidate just lost the presidential election? Use this comment section to comment on the game is it goes on.

Did you proof read your article for typos?

I didn’t know Louisville fans hated Lyndon Johnson. I guess they aren’t different after all.

Are you seriously going to hate on his article! This article was just fine! Stop hating and just go watch the game!

This is proof that if you get great players on one team (ala UK, Celtics, Yankees) you will win it all. Find the best and put them on teh same team and you will win. I would like to think that there is a big component of coaching for the HEAT, but that is not the case. All the others mentioned above did have great coaching.

LET’S GO HEAT

I’m pulling for the Heat because, just like Cal, James will never get the credit he deserves without a ring.

9. Ain’t that the truth?

The Heat are douchey no matter the result, and this series is boring as hell. Too much flopping and one on one. If the Celts didn’t lose Avery Bradley, they’d have won it all. They are a TEAM, and were fun to watch.

when michael jordan was 28 years old, he had just won his 2nd nba mvp and went on to lead the bulls to the championship, his first … lebron james doesn’t turn 28 until december, he already has 3 nba mvps and could lead the heat to the championship this year, his first … at 27
kids today think everything needs to happen now and when it doesn’t the guy chokes or doesn’t finish or whatever, nobody understands that even the best of the best took time to mature and become great

So Lebron is now Jordan?? 2 yrs ago he was a cheap impersonator, but he abandoned his hometown and franchise to collude with 2 other great players. Now he’ll get a ring, but don’t dare compare his ring to Jordan’s. What are we supposed to learn from this- if at first u don’t succeed, cheat the game?
June 20th, 2012 at 12:58 am
How did LeBron cheat the game. Cleveland never got LBJ any help. He took them to the finals and played hard for them. If the Cavs had tried to get talent like the heat did he would have stayed. Your reasoning is crazy. I guess UK is cheating the game by getting 5star players and we should get only local kids. I thought the whole point was to try to win titles. You do that by playing with the best talent possible. LeBron is the best TEAM player in the league so goog luck to him.

No, the world won’t come to an end, but hopefully posts like these will.

@Year of proof
There are like 8 NBA teams with 3 studs…… the thunder have 3 studs and a much better supported case. Hardin just has not showed up

14) Great post! Michael Jordan once said, “Talent wins games. Teams win championships.” Lebron’s Cavs had a great supporting cast during the season. In the playoffs, however, they deferred to Lebron too much. Lebron realized he couldn’t do it on his own. So he took less money and went to the Heat to be on a championship team.
June 20th, 2012 at 1:19 pm
refs cheated otherwise Lebron would be again sitting with zero rings. Might as well call up Tim Donaghy and ask him to call a game.
June 20th, 2012 at 2:35 pm
Very obvious that Miami gets the calls, refs are out and out blatant about the bad calls and number of no-calls against Miami’s D. Both games in Miami poorly officiated…
June 20th, 2012 at 2:55 pm
19 & 20) Are you kidding me? First of all, the whole “Refs are trying to hand the series to the Heat” has been said before. And frankly, it’s not very original. Plenty of bad calls have gone against Miami in this series too. I have friends who still bitch about the no-call on James to end game 2. I seem to be reminded that Kevin Durant should have fouled out of that game 3 minutes earlier when he plowed into Battier. If you look at that replay, Battier was standing in the lane long enough to start getting his mail forwarded to him. But the refs didn’t wanna foul Durant out, so they “decided” it was a block. Don’t get me wrong, the refs have been very bad all playoffs. But let’s not pretend Miami hasn’t gotten jipped by the refs too. Regardless, Lebron’s getting that ring he deserves. Call him LeChamp!

Lebron isn’t Jordan. Jordan was and is a complete asshole. LBJ is not only a great TEAM player, but a nice guy as well. Bet you won’t hear about his dad getting offed b/c of a gambling debt, then giving the game up to protect others from being knocked off as well. Cleveland is the armpit of America. Lebron shouldn’t have stayed as long as he did. They did nothing to get him any help. All the other names being mentioned had Hall of Fame (&quality All Star level) talent alongside of them while winning Championships. Jordan/Pippen—-Kobe/Shaq–Magic/Kareem/Worthy—Bird/McHale/Parrish—Hakeem/Drexler……the list goes on and on..Clev goes and gets Shaq when he’s old and out of shape. That’s the best they could do. Why didn’t everyone make a big deal out of Garnet, Pierce, and Allen. Or Stoudemire & Anthony.
