Calipari Makes Cut: Eloy Out, Towns In

by @ 3:20 pm. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

John Calipari trimmed the roster to 12 players for the Dominican Republic National Team. Former Wildcat Eloy Vargas and former Louisville Cardinal Edgar Sosa did not make the cut. Karl Towns, the top 2015 prospect, made the 12-man roster.

Eduardo Najri, the general manager had this to say about the decision:

“It has been difficult to make cuts and pick 12 players, but this is the group that’s going to compete for a spot in London.”

The youngster Towns joins a group that includes a few NBA players such as Al Horford and Francisco Garcia.

What more does Eloy have to do?

Eloy isn’t even a one trick pony. He has no moves. After 3 seasons under 2 of the best college coaches in Division 1.

It’s like watching Morgan Newton run out on the field.

You think because he’s black that he can run. But he can’t. So if you can’t run or throw, and your on offense, your a fullback or a lineman.

He could run in High School because… IT WAS HIGH SCHOOL.

With Eloy, you think because he’s a giant that he can rebound or score. It’s just not in the cards. He’s distracted.
