As Wildcat fans, we’ve seen our share of postgame interviews. Some of them feature players looking hilariously ridiculous, and others are legendary for the way the opposing coach reacts to playing Kentucky. However, I think the above interview has to take the cake as being the greatest thing ever said into a microphone.
It’s the best worst attempt to communicate since the dream kid. We spoil ourselves with the great interviews that we get to watch, with Calipari being the great talker that he is, and the players being genuinely funny and affable. It’s good to see that there are certain things we don’t have to put up with, like figuring out what the Russians are saying. The closest we came was Enes, and he still had very good english.
So enjoy, and be grateful for our post game press conferences.

Why don’t you just make a YouTube clip show post during the offseason.

“You can give like 100 questions but Russia win. Russia better than Canada. See you next time.” Awesome.

Sounds like one of my students. Brutal.

I now understand where Corey gets his writing style
June 14th, 2012 at 10:31 am
I doubt anyone here can speak Russian as well and he can speak English.
June 14th, 2012 at 11:07 am
He just said that they won Canada. No more Canada!
June 14th, 2012 at 11:26 am
@15: There is a reason the Russian language isn’t used world wide
June 14th, 2012 at 11:47 am
14. LOL
June 14th, 2012 at 11:49 am

What was so bad about that? You had some dude speaking his at best second language to a point that you could understand it. What really shows here is Corey’s ignorance at how big of a deal it is for a post soviet union era hockey team to beat canada in an international event.
June 14th, 2012 at 1:36 pm
he speaks better english, than i would russian. i ain’t hate’n on him
June 14th, 2012 at 6:26 pm
“he still had very good English” At least the kid in the video had an excuse….he’s speaking his second language. Also….”funny and affable”…..I love UK as much as anybody, but the mumbling messes that are Anthony Davis and John Wall interviews do NOT qualify as funny/affable.
