CBS Sports’ Jeff Goodman updated his 2012 mock draft to reflect the results of last week’s NBA scouting combine, and there was some movement for the Cats on the board this time around. Anthony Davis is still #1, so we at least know Goodman isn’t completely crazy. Here are the rest of the projections for the Kentucky guys, and where he had them projected before the combine:
3. Washington – Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (5)
Randy Wittman could use a skilled shooter to pair with John Wall, but we hear that they like Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and his high-motor. He’ll never be a pure shooter, but his work ethic will certainly allow him to improve in that area.
17. Dallas – Terrence Jones (19)
The Mavs need someone up front who can rebound — and also score some. Jones is erratic, but he would certainly benefit by playing alongside Dirk and Shawn Marion.
20. Denver – Marquis Teague (27)
The Nuggets have plenty of depth just about everywhere except for the point guard position. Teague is the ideal backup to Ty Lawson and also brings speed to the table.
25. Memphis – Doron Lamb (25)
The Grizzlies could use a dead-eye shooter — and that’s what Lamb is about. He can also back up Mike Conley Jr. at the point.
Even though Darius Miller was left out of the first-round, Goodman did previously name him one of the combine’s winners, meaning that basically all of the Cats improved their stock in Chicago (except Lamb, who didn’t move at all). If Miller can get a team to fall in love with his all-around game during the workout process then he can join the rest of the Cats who seem to be in good shape to hear their names called among the first 30 picks, making it another historic draft night for UK in the process.

Does this mean AD will go undrafted or just after the first round?

Dont by it, Terrence Jones is going top 10 to Sac or Golden St.

Jones didn’t improve his stock. 17 is the lowest I’ve seen him in a while.

Agree with 4. Terrence Jones is an absolutely steal anywhere outside the top 10. I also think Beal is going to be a star.

It will be a historic night for Kentucky’s basketball program when Terrence Jones is drafted by both Milwaukee with the 12th pick and Dallas with the 17th pick in the first round of the NBA Draft. Alternatively, Goodman doesn’t put any effort into proofreading his articles.

I guess I’m one of those old-fashioned 28 year-olds who is most interested in where Darius Miller ends up since he’s a Kentuckian (for 22 years.) I’ll watch all of them in the pro’s though. Go ‘cats.

Miller is going in 1st round and all media will be butthurt the next day.
June 11th, 2012 at 7:18 pm
12) why would the media be butthurt by that?
June 11th, 2012 at 7:30 pm
I think Doron Lamb would fit in perfect with the Bulls and MKG with the Wizards. Terrance Jones would fit perfect with any European team.. just saying. Miller would be a nice fit for the Hawks, C’s, or spurs. I’d like to see Teague go to the Kings or Lakers

The media would be butthurt because that would be 6 in the first round. Just what Cal said he wanted 3 years ago. Even though the whole best day n our history was a big leap, but I do think that draft could very well lead us to getting the players to win anther NC or 3.

I agree 15. I think the way he phrased it “the best night in UK history” got under the skin of a lot of people. However, the way I interpreted it was being the best night for UK’s future. Kids want to play in the NBA and they see what we are doing.
