It’s a busy month for NBA expert Chad Ford but he keeps churning out more stuff as draft night approaches. Today he has a wrap-up of last week’s NBA combine where he says Michael Kidd-Gilchrist isn’t necessarily a lock to the Bobcats.
Why?
Michael Jordan.
The question is will he (Thomas Robinson) be drafted at No. 2? We’ve had Michael Kidd-Gilchrist as the No. 2 pick for the past few weeks. Sources say the Bobcats still haven’t decided and are seriously considering trading the No. 2 pick to get multiple picks back. However, Robinson is very seriously in the mix, and I’m told right now that Michael Jordan isn’t sold on Kidd-Gilchrist.
Anywhere but Charlotte.

Please let this be true, please let this be true!!!
June 11th, 2012 at 2:06 pm
That’s great news for MKG!!
June 11th, 2012 at 2:08 pm
I love MJ and all, but i think hes had a little too much bath salt if he isnt sold on kid gillie. The kid is a straight baller who knows how to win and wont stop at anything until he does.
June 11th, 2012 at 2:08 pm
Will i don’t agree with him, I respect his opinion. I wish Ksr would do the same. It gets old
June 11th, 2012 at 2:08 pm
Given the Bobcat’s scouting and drafting history, I would have to say this is good news for MKG.
June 11th, 2012 at 2:14 pm
Michael Jordan:
-Greatest player of all time.
-Terrible judge of talent. (see: Kwame Brown, Adam Morrison, and Kemba Walker.)
June 11th, 2012 at 2:14 pm
Kwame Brown.
June 11th, 2012 at 2:15 pm
Adam Morrison.
June 11th, 2012 at 2:16 pm
MJ should let someone else handle draft decisions.
June 11th, 2012 at 2:16 pm
I don’t have any ill-feelings for Charlotte, but I’d really like to see Gilly and Wall on the same team. Talk about two nonstop motors.

Bugs Bunny
June 11th, 2012 at 2:29 pm
Michael Jordan doesn’t approve of MKG? That means that MKG will have a good career…He might be the greatest ever, but he can’t evaluate talent at all.
June 11th, 2012 at 2:33 pm
is MJ stoned in that pic? His eyes are floating.
June 11th, 2012 at 2:33 pm
How can you argue with him? I mean he did draft Kwame Brown didn’t he? Like I said, he knows talent….hahaha
June 11th, 2012 at 2:34 pm
Anyone who picks Kewannee(sic) Brown with the #1 pick is not real intelligent when it comes to the business end of bball! i.e., Jordan
June 11th, 2012 at 2:36 pm
Gee….MJ ain’t sold on using the #2 pick on a 6’7″ freshman with no mid-range to outside shot?
June 11th, 2012 at 2:37 pm
YAY I hope Bobcats pick Robinson. Honestly, Walker and Robinson together might be an alright combo, but I’d love to see MKG with Wall. I wouldn’t be upset if we was with Irving, either (I know he’s a former Duke player, but they would both only be good for each other and for the franchise).
June 11th, 2012 at 2:37 pm
Com’on MJ…sober up or suffer the consequences!
June 11th, 2012 at 2:38 pm
MKG is too non-traditional for me.
June 11th, 2012 at 2:41 pm
#4. How about you respect KSR’s opinion people like you who gripe about KSR and what they say get old to me. Hell you don’t have to come to this website and read their articles if you don’t want to.
June 11th, 2012 at 2:44 pm
As great as MJ was as a player he is equally horrible as a executive. Let’s hope MJ doesn’t draft MKG and he goes somewhere that will surround him with talent. MKG isn’t the type of player to lead a bad team. He is the type to make a good team great. MKG and Wall could have the wizards going in the right direction.
June 11th, 2012 at 2:45 pm
I think Thomas Robinson is going to be a better pro player… He’s got a better body for it, he is just as athletic and he can shoot. I don’t know stats but he has a more complete skill set and I would rather have him on my pro/NBA team.
June 11th, 2012 at 2:45 pm
Considering the fact ever pick Jordan has picked turns into a disaster, please please please MJ don’t pick any UK players.
June 11th, 2012 at 2:52 pm
With the Celts possibly moving on from the Big 3 , maybe they make a trade for the # 2 pick . Rondo & Gilchrist ?
June 11th, 2012 at 2:52 pm
I hope this is true, for MKG will be in a much better situation if he goes 3rd, and not second to the PIT that is Charlotte! Go to the Wizards MKG!!!
June 11th, 2012 at 2:53 pm
Still love that “Be Like Mike” video for MKG! Thanks Drew Franklin, although slow and useless behind the wheel, Senior citizen’s can still serve a purpose.
June 11th, 2012 at 2:55 pm
22., they play completely different positions! Oh, and please do not say that T. Rob has a great face-up game, especially from distance.
June 11th, 2012 at 2:55 pm
Funny. Jordan looking at Kidd-Gilchrist is basically Jordan staring in the mirror at himself when he was a Draft pick.
Yet he isn’t sure.
Sounds like someone’s made so many bad picks that they can’t see straight.
But then, Jordan wasn’t the #1 pick either.
June 11th, 2012 at 2:56 pm
Call me when you win more than 7 games a season. Then we’ll talk.
June 11th, 2012 at 3:01 pm
If Jordan was a GM in the 80′s, he would have picked Bowie over himself.
June 11th, 2012 at 3:01 pm
glad for MKG if this is how jordan feels.
Strange though, jordan had similar desire and motor as MKG coming out of college and was passed over. MKG plays much more for the team than jordan
June 11th, 2012 at 3:07 pm
If someone passes on this kid, they will be very sorry they did.
June 11th, 2012 at 3:08 pm
Yeah like hes done well with the Bobcats the last couple of years. Great player, stupid as GM. If thats what he feels good for MKG. Jordan was the 3rd pick too.
June 11th, 2012 at 3:13 pm
This is probably the best endorsement that MKG could have gotten. Besides Kwame Brown, didn’t he also draft Adam Morrison with the #3 pick a few years ago?
June 11th, 2012 at 3:15 pm
Kentucky fans know better than MJ? Still need validation from others? Just enjoy your college teams and keep quit when the grown ups are talking.
June 11th, 2012 at 3:16 pm
#22 I hope you are just trying to stir the pot. If you really meant that, then you know nothing about basketball. As 27 said they play different positions. TRob will be a flop he plays a power game. That will not work in the NBA with his size a nd lack of foot speed. Robinson had some tragidies that have made him in the news. His play is way overrated. MKG will be a all-star caliber Player for a long time if he goes anywhere other then the bobcats. MKG shines in transition which is how the NBA game is played.
June 11th, 2012 at 3:17 pm
35 How are those Bobcats doing? We’ll be quiet and listen for your grown up answer.
June 11th, 2012 at 3:38 pm
This is the NBA, kids. Kentucky doesn’t have professional sports for good reason. Stick to college. Let the pro’s be pro’s.
June 11th, 2012 at 3:39 pm
Balls.
June 11th, 2012 at 3:39 pm
Kwame Brown, need I say more………….
June 11th, 2012 at 3:49 pm
Larry Bird is kicking MJ ass as a front office person just like he did as a player. The Celtics owned the Bulls while bird played before his back gave out.Mj is the best to ever put on a pair of shoes but he didn’t get trophies untill he learned to trust his teammates. Looks like he would realize he needs team oriented players like MKG instead of self serving players like BIll Self said Trob is .
June 11th, 2012 at 3:50 pm
38 too bad for you the NBA is turning into UKBA.
June 11th, 2012 at 3:58 pm
This is exactly why the Bobcats franchise is a train wreck right now. But I’m taking this as a positive. Be happy to have MKG somewhere besides Charlotte.
June 11th, 2012 at 4:25 pm
Micheal Jordan’s draft history says it all. What a dumbass. he probably thinks Harrison Barnes is better simply because he played at NC, let alone Tom Robinson.
June 11th, 2012 at 4:33 pm
M.J. is a world class idiot. M.K.G. is the Real Deal.
June 11th, 2012 at 4:40 pm
I do not care, I want Mike Gile to play with Wall. The Wizards would then become my team.
June 11th, 2012 at 5:13 pm
In that photo Michael Jordan looks like my blind dog.
June 11th, 2012 at 6:32 pm
38 do you not read “Kentucky is the farm system for the NBA”
June 11th, 2012 at 6:42 pm
By the way 38 you do know we just won the NC. Meaning we have 8. How many does Duke have. We ARE the winningest program in history not Duke. If you are anyway trying to brag on the Bobcats being a pro team. Well I guess the joke is on you.
June 11th, 2012 at 7:24 pm
Would love to see Gillie and wall team up together. Both players want to win period
June 11th, 2012 at 7:31 pm
Sorry but MJ looks bight as a bat in that pick. Might explain some of his decisions.
For MKG’s sake I hope they pass on him.
June 11th, 2012 at 7:32 pm
High as a bat that is.
June 11th, 2012 at 7:33 pm
The only joke here is your ocd with Duke, why dont you act like you ve been there before, if your program is class then it would speak for itself.
June 11th, 2012 at 10:17 pm
MJ smokin’ the chronic!!! Damn he’s high.
June 11th, 2012 at 10:30 pm
MKG is the truth, and there was never a more certain cinch to be a star in the NBA. I hope and pray that he doesn’t end up in Charlotte but it has nothing to do with MJ. MKG simply deserves to be on a better team than Charlotte. The Wizards, with John Wall, would be a match made in heaven.
June 11th, 2012 at 11:20 pm
MJ is still ticked that I was drafted ahead of him.
He is out to get even with those awful, awful Wildcats. He knows his team got cakewalked into a title. I saw it. They were beat in a regional game and the refs gave them the ball 5 times in the last minute to let them catch up. It was worse than the Olympics in 1968. It’s the worst I’ve ever seen. Deano was still looking for his first title and the NCAA gave them a cupcake path to the title and they still had to cheat to see that they won. It was the Sweet 16 game against Alabama. By the time it was over ‘Bama went from being up 5 to losing by 5 in the span of about a minute. Not a word was ever said about it by the media who were of course all on the side of the Heels. It was a disgrace as bad as some boxing matches I’ve seen.
BTW anyone who thinks Jordan was the best player ever obviously wasn’t around to watch Wilt play. No one was in his category. Not even close. He was a monster that couldn’t be stopped. He could score any time he wanted. But it takes a team to win. And Wilt did win when he got to LA. In fact they won like no one had ever won before in the NBA. They won 33 games in a row and this was before the talent got diluted by too many teams. Yes the ABA had some of the talent but combined there were fewer teams then than now. Wilt, West and Baylor was by far the best combination of players I’ve ever seen and they would have kicked Jordan and Chicago all over the court. I mean Wilt score 100 points in a game. He averaged over 50 that year. FIFTY! And in their best season the Lakers were 69-13. I believe that is still the record for winning percentage for a season. For the NBA it was incredible.
June 11th, 2012 at 11:30 pm
This clowns going to draft Harrison Barnes with the #2 pick, bank on it. UNC alumni helping his own.
June 11th, 2012 at 11:52 pm
Michael Jordan wouldn’t have been near as good as he was if he hadn’t had Scotty Pippin to play off of. Point in case: his short career with Washington! He bombed big time there! I don’t know who I would place as the best basketball player ever in the NBA, but it sure wouldn’t be Michael Jordan!
June 12th, 2012 at 12:26 am
I could not care less about what Michael Jordan says about ANYTHING. The man is absolutely one of the worst human beings ever assembled. Anyone catch his immature, grudge ridden Hall of Fame acceptance speech? It was one of the most shocking things I have ever seen in my life. He pathological concentration and need to belittle and humiliate other human beings is what made him a fantastic player, but lacking in almost every single other area imaginable. How his PR people were able to hide his pathology is a wonder.
June 12th, 2012 at 12:30 am
I would like to see Michael Jordan wind up with Eloy Vargas. I am a UKAA member; I am from the Rupp era (Pat Riley, etc.); I liked Vargas although he didn’t get much playing time. One final note: I think 2012 NC Kentucky Wildcats could have beaten the Charlotte Bobcats with Anthony Davis on the bench. :>)
June 12th, 2012 at 6:49 am
MJ was number one,,,at perfecting the push off before he shot. Let him slide in college and the pros.
June 12th, 2012 at 7:37 am
When I first watched MKG in his first few games at KY I was not overly impressed. But with everything Coach Cal had said about him, I decided to back off and look at the team as a whole. I found a tremendously synergistic team. The entire team played unselfishly, led by MKG. Whoever was hot, MKG would feed them the ball. EXCEPT, when the game was on the line. Then he wanted the ball. Perhaps MJ is a little envious of MKG.

Can I say Jordan looks foolded
June 12th, 2012 at 8:59 am
and mgk is a beast and he will be an all star one day in the nba i promise u tht jordan has no clue how to pick a team i mean looks at who he has picked years before 2012 its ugly my son who is 3 would of choosen better players then the ones jordans has chosen i think jordan is the BEST basketball player (player) ever but the worst owner he needs people in his life that arnt yes men but tht will tell him wats up and not jus say yea bc jordan said it jORDAN IS A COOL DUDE BUT COMEON I THINK HE GOT SOME PROBLEMS WE DONT KNO ABOUT AND HE IS FOOLDED AND I THINK HE DRINKS TO MUCH
June 12th, 2012 at 6:02 pm
MKG is already a shut down defender at the small forward position, is a fierce rebounder and beast in transition and around the basket, but he still needs to develop an outside shot, which he will do. He’s only 18 and way ahead of Jordan at that age. I think MJ should take fellow Tar Heel, Harrison Barnes, because he did so well against MKG when they played in Rupp last year….(But Not Really)
