[Moderated by Matt Jones, Drew Franklin and Tyler Thompson]

Throughout the summer, we are going to revisit some of the posts of the past to see how far we’ve come as a website and as fans of the Kentucky Wildcats. Today’s edition of “On This Day In KSR History” comes from June 11, 2008, when Matt expressed his love for Christian Watford. The Internet never forgets…

Wednesday Notes
Matt Jones
Very little going on tonight. A picture of Jules always cheers me up. It is late, but we have a couple of quick notes…
— First, Christian Watford has spoken to both KSR and TCP since his visit to UK this weekend. Both stories are interesting, but the TCP story seems to suggest that Watford may be more into UL than UK. If so, that is tough news for the Cats as Watford is possibly my favorite player in the class. We hope to speak with him soon.
— Evan Daniels of Scout.com reports tonight that Memphis player Farrokhan Hall attended the Elite Camp and came away with a positive view of the Cats. He currently holds offers from UT and Memphis and is a 2009 player.
— We spoke today with Daniel Orton who is scheduled to be on my radio show tonight at 8:15 pm on 93.9 The Ticket. That interview will be streamed live on the internet, so watch for that this evening.
Tomorrow will include the next media member approval rating and a look at the continued development of our man Razor Ramon Harris…..stay tuned

that comment ruined UK’s chances at IU.

I am convinced that KSR brings UK bad karma.

Ha ha, I guess he didn’t like UL or UK. And I’m sooo glad for that. Had he not come to IU we would still be the irrelevant piece of crap that we were 2 years ago.

#2 You sir are correct. If it wasn’t for Matt Jone’s anti UK agenda, we (UK) would be on another level of basketball supremacy as compared to the rest of the NCAA!!

Uk needs to be looking at Damien Harris from Madison Southern High School. He has offers from Tennessee and other schools. He runs a 4.45 and will be only a sophmore.

I remember when we were recruiting Watford. I really liked him and Noel Johnson. It’s funny that kids like that don’t even really get a look from UK any more.

SOrry but this post is stupid and confusing.

The most amazing thing about this post is that it shows that Matt Jones used to write for this site.

Why is not getting Watford bad for UK? We beat IU in the Sweet 16. With Watford, we would have one less roster spot and potentially one less future NBA star.

Valid point.
However, I do remember Matt Jones on the radio show during the week leading up to that game in December. He said things several times to the effect of “Who’s Indiana? We will beat you guys by 50! Like what is an oladipo?” I wanted to punch him in the face so bad after that game.

Daniel Orton? The guy that didn’t hardly play, didn’t finish the spring semester, then ‘went for it’ as a freshman not even knowing how to play the game, so he could cash in on the hype?
Who cares?

Orton gets a bad wrap. The only thing Orton done wrong was not finishing his classes. Orton was a Billy Clyde recruit who just didn’t mesh with Cal for what ever reason. Orton thought he was better then big cuz and Cal played him because he was his guy. We know that’s wrong, but a 18 year old has a hard time be leaving anyone is better than them. With Orton’s knee problems he just wasn’t going to chance hurting it( which he did last year) and not ever being drafted. He did go first round he’s now a millionaire. Even though he hasn’t worked out in the NBA it’s hard to say he made a bad choice.
