Kentucky recruiting target Wayne Selden is reclassifying to the Class of 2013. The Shooting Guard from Massachusetts was previously ranked as the #7 player in the 2014 class, but has decided to step up and move to his original class year. He is a sharpshooter that Calipari dearly covets, but his reclassification will provide an interesting scenario for John Calipari. Already with an abundance of top players who want to come to Lexington (by most accounts, UK leads for four of the top eight and possibly 6 of the top 20), how does Selden fit in? Either way, it is a great problem to have and further confirms that the Class of 2013 will be a monster for the Big Blue.

I’ll take talent every day of the week. Let’s just hope they make an adjustment to the NBA age limit before the 2013 class would declare. Be nice to have that group of kids around for two or more years.

Uh-oh. I see Randall Cobb eyes.
June 8th, 2012 at 1:02 pm
He has “the eye of the cobb”
June 8th, 2012 at 1:02 pm
#2 was just about to say the same thing. You beat me to it!
June 8th, 2012 at 1:03 pm
Wonder how this works out with the Harrison twins? Of course one of them is a point guard.
June 8th, 2012 at 1:08 pm
I doubt this is welcome news as he could have helped in 2014.. but it does help to ensure a monster 2013 class.
June 8th, 2012 at 1:19 pm
#2 and #4, I was gonna same the same thing.
Sign ‘em all up! Harrow and Mays will be gone.
June 8th, 2012 at 1:29 pm
2 weeks without tweet beat, im feening worse than a crack addict with no rock

If 2013 is going to be a monster, then why did Cal elect to take a 3 star PF recruit (Derek Willis)? Wouldn’t he want to save roster spots for all the big names? Or does having a KY native on the team mean that much to him? He’s got Hood for 2 more years.
June 8th, 2012 at 1:51 pm
9, I was thinking the same thing…can’t be good news for Cal to hear, as if he continues on Selden, it will potentially remove one of the other big names on the board in the ’13 class.
June 8th, 2012 at 2:02 pm
9/10) It’s because he knows he needs a few guys to be sophomores/juniors and seniors to go with his freshman stars every year. He doesn’t just want his whole roster to be depleted every year.
June 8th, 2012 at 2:03 pm
Most definitely Cobb-like eyes….hope he has similar athleticism. As for nit-picking the recruiting decisions of Cal, how about we let him worry about it and just support him? Four #1 ranked classes in four years is, like, almost 100%.
June 8th, 2012 at 2:03 pm
From the bridge of the nose up, that’s a Randall Cobb clone. Mrs. TT we found your new crush.
June 8th, 2012 at 2:09 pm
With so many elite wings in this class, this isn’t great news for Kentucky. Selden can ball, and I’ll be thrilled if we get him. Still though, it’s impossible to imagine Parker, Aaron Harrison, Young, Selden, and even potentially Wiggins all on the same roster. Our class will be fantastic, but we’ll have to turn away some great talent at the wing due to lack of spots.
June 8th, 2012 at 2:12 pm
14, I’m pretty sure Wiggins is 2014
June 8th, 2012 at 2:12 pm
Willis is a big that can shoot the three (like Wiltjer) and has enough potential that he is worth the risk – at worst he’s a zone busting backup and heady practice player for 4 years but at best he could be another Miller!
June 8th, 2012 at 2:16 pm
Harrow will not be gone! He is 160lb soaking wet and WEAK. He will be at UK for 3 more years. This is not good for UK, as it ensures they will lose out on an important 2014 prospect. Jabari Parker to Duke– mark it down.
June 8th, 2012 at 2:19 pm
“He will burn you,
He will spurn you,
He knows how to turn you,
He’s got Chris Mills’ eyes!”
June 8th, 2012 at 2:24 pm
17- nothing worse than a delusional duke troll. parker isn’t going to duke. won’t happen, don’t care what some nerdy prick duke fan says either. not happening.
and duke hasn’t exactly been lighting up the pg scene lately. Irving and Williams- that’s it.
June 8th, 2012 at 2:28 pm
For now, I’m seeing double. Two for one deal right now looks the best but we’ll see.
June 8th, 2012 at 2:29 pm
Will S) Harrow has two years left. He will be gone.
June 8th, 2012 at 2:38 pm
Breaking news from CBSSports.com! It appears that Selden is now going to reclassify to the 2012 class. Cal needs to get on the ball and get this kid signed! #BBN
June 8th, 2012 at 2:40 pm
Thought that guy was on Grey’s Anatomy…….
June 8th, 2012 at 3:09 pm
21- Harrow has three years left. Played one at NC State, sat out last year, now has three years remaining.
June 8th, 2012 at 3:15 pm
Didn’t he play with Noel…check out highlights of this kid…amazing!…reminds me of DWade…may be better than either Harrison twin…go get him Cal
June 8th, 2012 at 4:08 pm
24. When you transfer from D1 school to D1 school you have to sit out and year and you lose that year of eligibility. Unless you’ve already sat out a year and its the graduate program loophole like Mays has.
June 8th, 2012 at 4:26 pm
26 – You don’t lose a year of eligibility if you transfer, Harrow will have 3 years left.
June 8th, 2012 at 6:23 pm
27 yes you do you moron
June 8th, 2012 at 6:26 pm
Which 4 do we lead for?
Assuming Harrison twins and ?
June 8th, 2012 at 6:38 pm
He has Randall Cobb’s eyes. He needs to give them back, football will start soon.
June 8th, 2012 at 7:10 pm
Go Pack Go? RC is a beast.
June 8th, 2012 at 7:58 pm
28) You don’t lose a year of eligibility – you just have to sit out a year. You still maintain all of your eligibility.
June 8th, 2012 at 9:20 pm
Cal is after the Harrison twins so he only comes if we don’t get them. That or he decides to come despite that. He must not be that interested in UK since he reclassified knowing that.
June 8th, 2012 at 10:55 pm
As with all college sports you have 5 years to complete your 4 years of eligibility.
June 9th, 2012 at 7:14 am
I’ve been watching some youtube mixtapes of him and he’s super impressive. It’s easy to see how Cal likes him so much. He would look very good in blue.
June 9th, 2012 at 8:46 am
28 – Look it up, you do not lose a year of eligibility and ask yourself “who’s the idiot?”
June 9th, 2012 at 9:48 am
“Harrow averaged 9.3 points and 3.3 assists as a freshman at N.C. State. He chose UK over Georgia, Louisville and Texas, according to Scout.
Harrow will have to sit out the 2011-12 season and will have three years of eligibility at UK.”
June 9th, 2012 at 9:55 am
37 – Thank you
June 9th, 2012 at 12:15 pm
This is not good news. What about the Harrison twin who plays the 2? I double that we can get both and the twins are a two for one deal.
