[Moderated by Matt Jones, Drew Franklin and Tyler Thompson]
While you and I were out doing something fun yesterday, hundreds of Hoosier fans gathered to meet Tom Crean and celebrate Indiana’s Sweet 16 run at the IU Tailgate Tour stop at Huber Farms in Starlight, Indiana. I can’t believe we missed it!
But thanks to our good friend Adam Lefkoe of WHAS 11, we can all listen to what Tom Crean had to say via YouTube from the safety and comfort of our own homes and offices.
Check it out.

What a pu$$y
June 7th, 2012 at 10:40 am
Let’s be honest – if another coach said the “they’re only 2 hours way, are they that poor?” line, KSR and other UK fans would be all over it. Of all the candid, blunt, rant-like things Cal says, that’s the most classless one. All criticisms of him are fair game, in my opinion. He’s making it too easy to dislike him.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:42 am
The fight was over when we kicked you out of the tourney on our way to #8. Your fans ran their mouth. UK shut that mouth. IU is like the jilted ex who can’t let go. I’m sure these crybags’ next move will be taking UK on Judge Judy saying Calipari still has their cookware. Go away gnats. You’re an inferior program.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:46 am
Isn’t that what Cal said first the other day? He repeats stuff Cal says and acts like he said it first…? HE IS A JOKE!
June 7th, 2012 at 10:59 am
#2 nailed it.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:01 am
The only reason the game isn’t happening is because Tom Crean knows he has no chance to ever beat Cal on a neutral court. He wants to take less money so that he can attempt to punk the greatest program in history with his thug students/fanbase in Bloomington and use it as a selling point for his basketball team. Ain’t happening.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:04 am
We will still play IU every year. The NCAA Selection Committee will make sure of that.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:07 am
I wish it was home and home every year… I am a huge UK fan, those type of games is what makes it so much fun.. I’m sad to see it ending the way it is
June 7th, 2012 at 11:14 am
No one who goes to Bloomington, IN ever wants to go back.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:14 am
So Tricky Rick is desperate because Van Treese is leaving to make room for a better player?
And I enjoy the distinction between Cal sending Porter packing (yup) and Rick letting Swop and Van Treese move to places where they’ll receive more playing time. The distinction: He recruited those players. The program recruited those players though… Is the coach bigger than the program. Why yes, in Lexington, that is absolutely correct.
Hmm,1st: 1 year renewables. 2nd: Where in the world do you hire someone to do a job and get compensated for it where you are not allowed to get fired, but are allowed to leave whenever you want. 3rd: Who’s to say these players don’t decide to go based on seeing less minutes, in other words — are coaches also not supposed to recruit over players who have had bad luck with the injury bug?
Should’ve played home and home with IU, Baylor’s weaker, but the National Championship Cayuts aren’t coming through that door either, are they.
Be easy on your cousins tonight.

Kind of funny that hoosier fans didn’t balk when “that other coach”
of indiana wanted to move it to a neutral site
June 7th, 2012 at 11:24 am
10. Cal ASKED Porter to stay in 2010, he had a child on the way and wanted to get a job and get married. Which is why Krebs was given the scholarship, come on man Ketchup Mustard. Even so, call was re-constructing another coaches leftovers while Pitino keeps cutting his own recruits to make room for new ones. BAHAHAHA
Tell me how every year we tap that ass, and still have schollies left over for the Krebs, Polsons, Hoods, and Twanny Beckhams. While the tards cut seniors left and right and still fall short?
You mad? Don’t be mad Bro!
June 7th, 2012 at 11:27 am
11. We had two left over scholarships this year, Poole left on his own, and his Scholly was never used. Keep trying!
June 7th, 2012 at 11:27 am
Again, i agree w 2. We are looking bad to all outsiders and yes that does matter. ” they ” dont want to be us if we keep acting egotistical
June 7th, 2012 at 11:28 am
Why doesn’t Crean have eyebrows?
June 7th, 2012 at 11:30 am
#15 Didn’t your parents teach you to not worry so much about others opinions. If we did something wrong, well, yeah, I would worry what others thought. We did nothing wrong, so therefore I don’t care what other insignificant programs or people think of us. There, that was easy!
June 7th, 2012 at 11:32 am
17) Ironic that you are critisizing KSR for an obsession with IU, yet here you are on the UK website, yet again. I digress – just realized they don’t teach irony until the fifth grade. You’re forgiven.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:33 am
#15–You think this “looking bad to all outsiders” is something that JUST happened? Good gawd; where have you been for the past 40+ years? UK has always been hated by most everyone; this isn’t news. And #17–You are an ignoranus. That’s a new term: it means you’re both ignorant AND an asshole.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:34 am
17 – Come on, man. You know very well IU wouldn’t end our home-court winning streak. Whenever it finally gets broken it will probably be Florida, Tennessee or Vandy. No chance IU would walk in after last year’s experience in Bloomington and leave with a win.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:37 am
19) In Bloomington, they think irony is how you keep that crease in your jeans.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:38 am
# 17: “Love KRS’s continued obsession with all things IU.”……………..Seems as though “HOO HOO” (idiot) may be a little obsessed with KSR. Get a life a spend a little time doing something other than feeding your addiction to UK basketball and KSR. How many titles does IU have now?????? Thought so!
June 7th, 2012 at 11:41 am
I will say I’m getting tired of all the IU posts, though. I know it is summer and news is slow, but continually talking about them serves no purpose other than offering an outlet for HOO HOO-styled trolls
June 7th, 2012 at 11:48 am
#2. Yeah I cant stand coaches that take us to final fours, give us national championships. Man its hard to like this guy. What is wrong with you? Because he is digging into a rival we all hate. Unless you are really an IU fan? I think you are. Is this Hoo Hoo or Hoo Hoo’s significant other? Hmmmm…
June 7th, 2012 at 11:53 am
Hillbillies? lol, i’ve been through Indiana, that was an idiotic statement if i’ve ever read one. We aren’t scared of you, and it isn’t even a rivalry, we’ve beat you 15 out of the last 19 times, you’re a joke, congrats on finally making it to the sweet sixteen, your team is travelling around celebrating it, if that tells you the state of our program…congrats on bing mediocre finally
June 7th, 2012 at 11:53 am
26. Yeah, the NIT sucks. You not what sucks worse? Not making the NIT.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:58 am
I am a wildcat fan. I would like to know why the UK fans keep bashing UL about this matter? Pitino or any Cards fan I know haven’t said a word about us as of yet. IU are the crybabies…no whining from the UL staff yet.
June 7th, 2012 at 12:03 pm
Hey Did you hear what the IU fan found when he opened up his closed to hang his new Sweet 16 t-shirt? 10 years worth of Butler Bulldog T-shirts and Fan Fingers:)
Dont worry Butler, you will have all your bandwagon IU fans back soon:)

HOO HOO, isn’t Indiana a fly-over state? Even the airlines have passed you by!
June 7th, 2012 at 12:18 pm
Warrior says ” Hoo Hoo never seen a HOO HOO since arriving thru his Mother’s hoo hoo.
June 7th, 2012 at 12:18 pm
Matt does a good job of “poking the bear” so to speak. And he’s honed in on the fact he’s able to use Big Blue Nation’s fervor to pretty much apply pressure in whichever direction he’d like. He is the puppetmaster.
June 7th, 2012 at 12:19 pm
Glad you decided to be “nuetral”… Just about everyone is on board except for the IU Brass:)…
June 7th, 2012 at 12:19 pm
Both IU and UK coaches and both AD’s have made public comments that they should not have made and said things that made and has kept this a public debate. All parties are now to the point where they are getting irritated by constantly being asked about it. Both programs want to do what they feel is best for them and neither of them want to give on it, so it is over. Myself as a UK fan, I support the neutral site, big dome games, and am fine if IU does not want to do that. The End!!!!
June 7th, 2012 at 12:19 pm
Cal: “Hey Tom, let’s play every season on a neutral court. Our schools will benefit financially and both teams can play in a Final Four type of venue every regular season.”
Crean: “Cal, at least give me a home game. We’ll make less money, but that way I can tell my thug (Big Ten) candypant students to physically intimidate any old people and families that travel to see the Big Blue. And we’ll have an arena full of candypant students to scream expletives and threats at a bunch of 18 year olds.”
June 7th, 2012 at 12:22 pm
#7) IU has to get there every year first.
June 7th, 2012 at 12:27 pm
As a UK fan whose attendance at IU-UK games goes back to the Regional Final ’72 in Nashville, I am sad that both sides couldn’t reach a compromise. What was wrong with the 2 seasons of home-and-home, and 2 seasons of neutral sites? Pleases both sides. Yes, Bobby Knight hit Joe B. in the head in Bloomington, setting a precedent for unsportsmanlike conduct in Assembly Hall, but remember, Calipari, they were coming to Rupp this year. I don’t understand his reluctance. It’s not about the $$; it’s something else I don’t get yet.
June 7th, 2012 at 12:30 pm
#26 Why didnt Iu want to play neutral? You used to not have a problem w it. Ever heard of UNC, a school w way more tradition than iu…we still play them. Btw, is crean still calling players after the no contact…im sure no division 1 coach knows when that is.
June 7th, 2012 at 12:33 pm
Cal is such a little b*tch mouthpiece. Seriously, the comment about IU students being too poor to go to Indy is over the line and shows how out of touch he is. And, he twisted Crean’s words around to make it sound like he was the one who told Crean to move along, when it was actually a mutual decision. #2 poster was right. And you UK fans think Cal is some sort of god, on the up and up, has the best interest of his kids at heart, is a stand-up character – you can think that all you want. But deep down he is a cheating, greedy, little slimeball of a man, as evidenced by his little game with IU and the schedule. He’s got the ‘ol god complex going on after a successful season.
As an IU fan I am actually relieved that IU isn’t playing Kentucky, because who wants to even associate with a college, coach, and fanbase as vile and delusioned as UK’s???
I like the #vac8 hashtag too, I am totally going to steal that.
June 7th, 2012 at 12:37 pm
17 rewritten: “We put a (sneaky, leaked to the press before it was even sent to Mitch Barnhart, had already been offered by UK before we ended things on May 3)agreement out in front, it wasn’t good enough (after they had already made other plans after we made a announcement that we were going to end the series), let’s move on.” ~Tom Crean
I love IU’s fan’s continued re-entry onto a UK blog.
#h8ersgonnah8
June 7th, 2012 at 12:38 pm
1987 called and they want their banner dusted off.. 1987 would have emailed, but email wasn’t available back then.. 36 Elite 8′s for UK and only 34 NCAA Tournament appearances for IU.. Reality check for IU fans…
June 7th, 2012 at 12:38 pm
26. After how UK fans were treated in Bloomington, we’ll likely never be back or it will be a very long time before we do. You classless jerks blew it. I’ve been to Bloomington once in the late 90s and i’ve never been back to that dump. It wasn’t even for a game. If you hadn’t treated UK fans poorly and stormed the court for a meaningless out of conference game, trampling over our players and fans then things would be different. It’s not about Cal’s “any time, any place” comment. It’s about the safety and treatment of our fans. If we were scared to play IU at home we likely wouldn’t agree to play at all. Instead we offered 2 neutral site games in your own state and Crean didn’t want to because he knows IU fans would be far out-numbered. Cal want’s neutral site games for IU. It was that way for about 15 years. Crean wants home and home because he can’t beat UK on a neutral court and there aren’t enough IU fans to fill their share of Lucas Oil Stadium. So quit your crying about it. Oh, and nothing UK has won under Cal is going to be vacated. By the way, how was probation the last few years?
June 7th, 2012 at 12:40 pm
#33 Indy is a flyover state. Even birds fly upside down because there is nothing there worth shiting on
June 7th, 2012 at 1:01 pm
#44 you just called UK fans vile and delusional, just wanted to point that out..
June 7th, 2012 at 1:04 pm
I bleed blue, but I think Cal does deserve some criticism for his comment. I am sure he wishes he could take it back. For a guy that works with many kids from very humble backgrounds, he should know better. With that said, Tom Crean is a douchebag.
June 7th, 2012 at 1:08 pm
Thank God you typed that in all caps or we never would’ve seen it.
June 7th, 2012 at 1:11 pm
Pipe down damnit.
June 7th, 2012 at 1:25 pm
We’ve beat you 15 out of the last 19 times, what about that sounds like fear?
June 7th, 2012 at 1:26 pm
#2- I love the “are they that poor?” line. It calls them out for that bullshit ‘can’t bus the fans’ excuse.
June 7th, 2012 at 1:27 pm
No shortage of delusions when it comes to you HOO, your team finally has a mediocre season and look at you go, congrats on your sweet 16 though, we’ve been to more of them than you’ve been in the tourney period
June 7th, 2012 at 1:31 pm
At #44: Then we’re in perfect agreement. Given the choice between being assured of beating you pieces of **** by 100 points in perpetuity, or simply having you cease to be, I’d go for the latter every time. I have no interest in UK beating you. If we lined up at the border and attacked you, I’d be for that. GTH and rot.
June 7th, 2012 at 1:40 pm
Whats up IDIOT, that all you got?
June 7th, 2012 at 1:52 pm
UK 52 tourney apperances IU 36
UK 39 Sweet Sixteens IU 20
UK 34 Elite 8′s IU 11
UK 15 Final Fours IU 5
UK 8 National Titles IU 5
IU has played 3 more seasons in college basketball yet trail us #1 by 400 games…
June 7th, 2012 at 1:52 pm
I’m as hardcore UK as they come but the guy who said Bloomington is a dump needs to open his eyes. It’s actually one of the 10 most scenic and nicest college towns in the country and one of the most progressive cities in the midwest according to many publications. The rest of the state however….
June 7th, 2012 at 2:02 pm
A Tailgate Tour to celebrate a Sweet 16 says it all…..LMFAO
June 7th, 2012 at 2:29 pm
I like how everybody acts like going to Bloomington to play a basketball game is like going to Alcatraz. Those thug students. Yeah, they are so scary, they might throw their Mich Ultra, and their soccer ball at you.
June 7th, 2012 at 3:17 pm
you have to honestly wonder if Cal and Crean are still friends. This whole thing has gotten kind of ugly.
June 7th, 2012 at 3:39 pm
Kentucky-Where we have nothing to do but worship the lives of little boys with unibrows and a man who we think actually cares about the people of our pathetic little state. Seriously, you have nothing to do in your disgusting excuse of a state. You call Indiana a flyover state, has there ever been an airplane in Kentucky? I’m not sure. We just hosted the Super Bowl (most popular sporting event in the world), and annually host the single-largest one day sporting event in the world. Do you even have a professional sports team or a city that has a population of any legitimacy? I love the bashing of Bloomington and IU when it consistently ranks as one of the most beautiful campuses and college towns in the country, not to mention the academics. Though you morons could care less about that. Wow, I am wasting my time conversing with you inbred losers.
June 7th, 2012 at 4:03 pm
Indiana-Where we have nothing to do but troll UK sports sites and whack-off in our mothers basements all the live-long day.
June 7th, 2012 at 4:25 pm
If Tom Crean was a grown man I’d punch him in the face!
June 7th, 2012 at 4:27 pm
#59. You must be referring to HoosierJoe.
June 7th, 2012 at 6:28 pm
#58. You just used a run-on sentence, but I am sure that with your education you already knew that.
June 7th, 2012 at 9:15 pm
#16 Tyrannosaur – Tom Crean made a bet with a booster that if he beat Kentucky in his first 5 years with the Indiana program he’s shave his eyebrows off.
June 7th, 2012 at 9:19 pm
It’s so funny for these Indiana bozo’s to insist they are the ones saying “move on”.
UK fans called this move back in November. Cal simply tried to make an arrangement that would still allow the game to be played conditionally, since he knew the UK fans didn’t care about Indiana anymore.
IU got punked and their fanbase isn’t happy about it. So they have to try to save face by blaming Cal when they should be blaming themselves for letting their fans become such bitter people.
