Now this is the rivalry feistiness I like to see! UK Freshman CB Jonathan Reed apparently saw the pictures of the UK logo in the urinal at the UL football practice facility and got angry. He didn’t take too kindly to his future football home being disrespected and he came with this tweet:
@WinstonGuyJr21 feels like they just spit in my face
— J Reed® (@_jreed) June 6, 2012
Going further, he made clear that now Louisville was on his radar in a way previously unknown:
At first it was just a traditional rivalry with Louisville but I really hate them now…
— J Reed® (@_jreed) June 6, 2012
And he promised a particular result in September when the two teams meet:
I really can’t wait to dance on that ugly red bird in the middle of Papa John Stadium.
— J Reed® (@_jreed) June 6, 2012
Now look, we all know that Kentucky will go into the game as an underdog and unfortunately, there are few fans who truly believe the Cats can win in Papa John Stadium. But I am glad to see that the UK players believe in themselves and the team. The air of negativity around the program need not permeate the UK locker room and these tweets showcase that for the new guys coming in, the Urinal-gate has them fired up for the rivalry. Plus, it has led to many UL fans showing their backside and saying some pretty awful things back to him (as a gander at his Twitter feed showcases). And if Jonathan Reed hates Louisville now, I can’t help but root for him. Win or lose, the Cats are still Blue, so do your thing @_jReed.

funny thing is that picture wasn’t even real. it was photoshopped. but hey…whatever motivates!

I like it…at least we know one of these kids has some guts….hopefully more of them
June 6th, 2012 at 5:32 pm
Man, I don’t even know if Louisville will show up now. Maybe Reed will play qb.
June 6th, 2012 at 5:32 pm
Hate to break the news to this kid that there are such things as Adobe Photoshop out there.
And I have yet to see anybody stomp on the Cardinal Bird and not get blown out. That’s unreal given how not great UL typically is in football.

Matt, you tweeted that Louisville fans can no longer mock UK fans for saying mean stuff to an athlete on twitter… Really?
Completely different situations: Kentucky fans attack/degrade/wish injury upon kids that choose a school other than UK. They are simply making what they feel is the best decision for their basketball career.
This guy, who is a UK football player, used twitter to provoke UofL fans by claiming he is going to disrespect the Louisville football team by ‘stomping on their ugly bird’.
Good try, doucher.

I love it!

Who is this Matt Jones writer? Did he win the latest blogger contest?
June 6th, 2012 at 5:53 pm
Lol at “provoked” in comment 5. Yes, by saying he is going to stomp on a chalk drawing on a field, he absolutely “provoked” Louisville fans into saying he should kill himself and threatening to harm him. That’s dirty bird logic for you.
June 6th, 2012 at 6:09 pm
8. I never said Louisville fans are not in the wrong. But it’s not surprising at all to see a fan respond to a rival player’s trash talk.
When an entire fan base attacks a high school student for choosing a school over theirs in a respectful way, it’s not only surprising, it’s borderline lunacy.
June 6th, 2012 at 6:11 pm
5, are you really going to lecture UK fans about respecting a players best decision for their basketball career? Are you being purposely ignorant about the things said about Teague when he committed to UK over UofL? Put down the Pitino Kool-Aid and join us here in reality for awhile!
June 6th, 2012 at 6:16 pm
No more football updates please.
June 6th, 2012 at 6:18 pm
9 It’s also not surprising at all that you are exaggerating. To say the “entire fanbase” attacked a high school kid for his decision is just wrong. I have never onced tweeted or contacted any player about his decision to go to any school, and I’m 100% certain I’m not the only one. All you Cards can do to defend yourselves is exaggerate things. Matt’s comment didn’t insinuate Card fans had said anything worse than UK fans, he just said they no longer can talk, insinuating both fan bases are guilty. Why am I bothering wasting my time responding, you’re a Card fan for cyring out loud. There’s no reasoning.
June 6th, 2012 at 6:55 pm
Hell yeah, I like that attitude…that is what we need on this team…just give Joker a little time to mellow him out…

Has there ever been a more over rated sports program in the history of the NCAA than UbaL football. Amazing what a win over Wake Forest in the lowest rated BCS game EVER can do for you. Still measuring their success against the second weakest team in the history of the SEC. Only Sewanee rates lower than UK in the past 57 years of intercollegiate sports. GO TARDS!
June 6th, 2012 at 9:03 pm
Amen #14 To hear them talk they are on par with Bama or LSU. Their to stupid to realize the NCAA is going to change the bowl system because of that game. The big east and ACC are being left out. They just have little brother syndrome so bad they can’t notice the rest of the country is making a joke of them.

The Cats are going to be ready. UofL is going down. It’s payback time!
June 6th, 2012 at 10:17 pm
How do we know that photo is real and not photo-shopped. That photo would never hold up as evidence in a court of law. I am very skeptical that the photo is real.
June 6th, 2012 at 10:33 pm
Who cares if the photo is real, I just hope it motivates UK to kick some Rotten Bird ass. Damn I try not to hate them, but little brother really brings it on themselves.

Real or not, UL fball player is the one who tweeted it out to the world.
