That’s the Final 4 ring that went to each team that participated. Ours says National Champions on it. The big boys will be a bit away but I’m sure they’ll be sharp.
The players cannot receive rings that are worth too much money. It’s considered a gift so if it costs too much, it’s a violation. Managers, trainers, and coaches get the real deal. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me.
not quite as glamorous as i was expecting…kind of bland…my baseball state championship and 2 college conference rings have more bling…obviously they don’t mean quite as much as a NCAA championship though
and to Number 9 post….that’s not true at all…my coaches at the university i attended have the same exact rings as i do…and all “gifts” are considered a violation. Rings are typically funded through boosters or the athletic teams budget
Don’t know if this is any different than baseball but I have a NCAA world series ring from a couple years ago and all players, coaches, etc. have the same exact ring–except for names of course. Would have thought that a D1 NC ring would have a bunch of diamonds on it.
Those are just the rings given to the team from the NCAA.
The school will give the coaches, players, managers, etc. the “real” ring down the road..probably at Midnight Madness or something.
In football, the national champion receives a generic championship ring every year from the BCS, as well as the bigger, nicer ring from the school. In this case, it’s just the NCAA instead of the BCS. Same concept. The rings from the school will be much nicer, have more bling, and be much larger.
to 27….good point…knowing calipari he will definitely make it an event when the real rings get handed out…they wouldn’t give them their championship rings without being introduced in front of some type of crowd

Those have to be ones given to the school/players by the NCAA. The good looking ones come from the University made by Balfour

Those must have been personally designed by Emmert. His disgust shows.
June 6th, 2012 at 3:35 pm
Those look like they came from a gumball machine.
June 6th, 2012 at 3:44 pm

UK will have a better one with blue in it somewhere.
UCONN’s from last year looks pretty nice.
