Let’s fight some Irish

by @ 10:20 am. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

We’re going to Indiana!!! … to play Notre Dame.

The word on the street is Kentucky will play Notre Dame in the SEC/Big East Challenge this coming season. It’s not quite the Georgetown matchup that Andy Katz originally reported, but it’s one that will test Kentucky’s incoming class in the non-conference schedule, assuming Notre Dame still has big white guys with buzz cuts.

In this battle of flattops, Nerlens Noel is sure to prevail.

Go Cats.

a road game? what a crazy idea

  3. Coach Durbin Says:

I don’t really understand ND. We played them 3 years ago in the SEC/Big East challenge and there are so many more Big East teams I would rather play. Marquette, Syracuse, Cincy, WV, Gtown, and Pitt. I understand this scheduling is impossible but playing St Johns and ND twice in a 3 year span is not that exciting.

  4. Mr. Class Says:

I wonder if Digger will yell at BBN when we take over their home gym for this game? “Listen to me!”

  5. DerbyDemon Says:

What a letdown. I was so in hopes it would be Georgetown, but Notre Dame? PUH-LEEZE.

  6. Dear IU and UL, We are National Champs; you are not. The end. Says:

In case anyone forgot, UK is the NCAA champion in basketball.

  7. dd Says:

Notre Dame is a quality opponent, but as others have pointed out, we’ve already played them in the Challenge! Is everyone else repeating their opponents from two years ago as well?

  8. CaliUKFan Says:

#3. I’m with you but we can’t play Syracuse because they too are linked for a road game this year — Mizzou has been mentioned for them.

I’d rather see us play Georgetown or Pitt but Notre Dame also will be a ranked team to begin the season.

  9. NBA league pass Says:

    6) thank you.

  10. NBA 2K23 Says:

Did Corey have any updates to the NBA Draft Board?

This game will go in the L column for UK. They can’t play on the road.

  11. twnky Says:

When did Gary busey play for nd

  12. BBN Says:

A huge disappointment! The UK-ND games in the past were extremely boring to watch. I wanted to see UK-Georgetown in DC. No way the organizers were going to give that opportunity to Calpari seeing as the Regional will be held in DC. Don’t want to somehow give UK an advantage for the NCAAs.

  13. BBN Says:

Also, it is a game that if UK wins, well they were supposed to win. If UK loses, it is a huge deal for everyone, including ESPN commercials.

  14. Makers Man Says:

    #1 got it right.
    Meh.

No imagination in this. Would have rather played UC (they got Alabama instead).

  15. 3 fan Says:

Boring. Boring. Boring. Should have played the Cuse. ND is a no-win situation for UK.

  16. Makers Man Says:

A sportswriter over at the “local” newspaper site took a jab at KSR in his blog post about the UK ND match up. Something about “attempting to blow up his live blog” the last time UK visited ND. 4 years ago. Not that he is bitter about it….

is the hair on that dude photoshopped?
