[Moderated by Matt Jones]

Well I am coming down from the high that is watching “Friday Night Lights on NBC once again this week. As I have said before, this is the best non-”Office” show on network television and you need to be watching it….now. We also found out today that our first show on ESPN 1570 AM in Louisville will be on Friday night from 6-8 pm. Our regular time slot is going to be on Wednesdays from 6-8 pm and doing some pre-game shows for Saturday Kentucky basketball games, but for our first week “Hammerin” Hank Goldberg has pushed us back to Friday. We hope you folks will call in and help us celebrate our first show on the air….and help us hope it is not our last.
Now some quick tidbits of news……Many of you are asking me about Marshall Moses. He is scheduled to find out this week about the remaining academic issues that he has and is then scheduled to take his visit to Kentucky this weekend. If he makes the visit to Kentucky, then I think we could see a Moses commitment on the trip. But there is still the lingering James Anderson issue. Tubby Smith is trying to get James in town and supposedly the decision as to whether to visit will be made tomorrow. I will see what I can find out……I interviewed Jai Lucas about his visit to Maryland this evening. Very little to report. Here was his exact quote about the trip: “I had a good time at Maryland. It was cool to be on the East Coast and see how things work a little different up there. I went to a scrimmage they had there. There werent all that many people, but I think it was because everyone was getting ready for the football game. Everybody there was real cool and I liked my time there.” In addition, Lucas is going to take his trip to Oklahoma and said that he hopes to make his decision sometime next week…..
Oh yeah, listen to EPISODE 12. It has Barry Booker, SEC Preview, Recruiting and Hubby….check it out.
OK that is that, now onto the feature part of this presentation……
THE KEY INGREDIENT
Over the next two weeks, the makeup of the Kentucky class will come together. AT this point we know that Mike Williams and AJ Stewart will be Cats. If Kentucky and Moses stay on the same path, Marshall Moses can be a Cat very soon. In addition, it is highly likely that Ramon Harris will be in Lexington in 2007 if not sooner. So that leaves two spots (maybe three, if Moses is a no and Tubby can hit a longshot pick with James Anderson). Unless you live on the moon (or dont read the internet), you know that those two spots are hopefully going to be filled by Jai Lucas and Patrick Patterson. Will it happen? No one can say for sure, but if anyone knows the answer to that question and can effect its results, it is the man above….John Lucas.
Watching John Lucas from afar, I was never exactly sure what to make of the guy. His compelling life story suggests a guy who could overcome adversity and be a positive influence on those going through troubles themselves. In addition, it is clear that he has raised two great kids with his sons John and Jai. However beginning with the time this summer in Indianapolis at the Nike Camp, I saw a different side of John Lucas…..the political machine. In Indy, John was hyper-motion, talking to everyone under the sun and asking any person who he could meet (including me) the latest coaching scoop and recruiting gossip. One recruiting analyst said to me that Lucas seemed to be running for office and get every vote in the building.
What John was actually doing was promoting his son to anyone that would listen. Watching Lucas, you would think that his son was the 300th ranked player and not in the top 50 as John was seen talking to coaches and analysts pointing out the virtues of his point guard prodigy. However while John was everywhere, one place where he spent the most time was sitting directly next to the Patrick Patterson family. While the Lucas-Patterson connection may have been slightly overhyped, it nevertheless is real. John Lucas saw what everyone saw at the NBA Players Camp…..Jai makes Patrick better and vice versa. Jai is a great player but he needs great players around him and Patrick fits the bill. And Coach John saw that, and the idea of promoting these two young men playing together was most certainly on his mind. At the time John said to me, “Jai and Patrick could be a great team together. Believe me, we all know that.”
As we head to the final days of this recruiting season, this connection is still real. John Lucas sat next to Patrick Patterson’s dad at Midnight Madness and the Coach stood up and chanted Patrick’s name with the masses. In a conversation with Patrick’s mother after the visit, she said that they occasionally speak with the Lucas family and that they have become friends since the summer. There is no doubt in my mind that John would like to see his son and Patrick play together…..why? Because it is the best for his son. In the next two weeks, Tubby Smith and the UK staff are hoping that they will be able to sell these two young men on the virtues of being part of the Big Blue Nation. However the individual who may have been the biggest advocate of this package and who may ultimately have the biggest effect on whether it happens may be Mr. Lucas himself. If John still sees the Lucas-Patterson connection as a positive one and still believes that it can become reality, I believe he will attempt to work and make that happen. Whether it will is anyone’s guess…..but if it does, the man with a moustache should become an honorary Wildcat, because he will have been a crucial factor in creating a recruiting class that will make the future of UK very bright.
And before you leave the site, check out this video of two kids in Denver trying to get an autograph from “Mark Pope.” Its a little slow at first, but I liked it a lot. If Kentucky Sports Radio ever expands to Denver, these two kids are on the top of our list…..

Is Jai’s visit to OU this weekend?
October 30th, 2006 at 11:56 pm
^ Yes.
October 31st, 2006 at 12:02 am
If Tubby Smith (or John Lucas) pulls off this package what happens if Jasper is the better point guard? Does Tubby run his team or does Jai Lucas start at point even if NBA scounts project Jasper to be an NBA caliber point?
October 31st, 2006 at 12:03 am
Sorry but this whole things seems to be so unfair to Jasper.
October 31st, 2006 at 12:06 am
How can Jasper playing in the best backcourt in the nation be unfair?
October 31st, 2006 at 12:12 am
Matt or anybody who can answer this question, do you have any idea how the staff works it out to have 6 rides available for this class? Also, if we land Moses, Stewart, and Harris, wouldn’t UK be a little stacked at the SF spot? I’m not sure how they would have playing time for 08, assuming we land Miller. I know they are versatile, but it doesn’t really seemed like a balanced roster to me. I would think the staff would try to get Williams, Stewart, Moses or Harris (just 1), Patterson and Lucas for 07. Then for 08 get 2 out of 3 between Miller, Robinson, and Buford. Plus, add a big man for 08 (a guy like Xavier Gibson to go w/Patterson I hope). Wouldn’t that make more sense? Anyways, that’s just my two cents. What do you guys think?
October 31st, 2006 at 12:18 am
I dont see how Tubby can take both Harris and Moses if Patterson signs.
October 31st, 2006 at 12:20 am
Jasper being forced out of position for political reasons in usfair.
October 31st, 2006 at 12:31 am
By the way, I love the “Mark Pope” video. I want to hear the Mark Pope poem.
October 31st, 2006 at 12:33 am
so why are we already getting into the playing time of politics and saying Jasper is gona get screwed and Lucas is gona get all the PT when Jasper hasnt played a game and Lucas has yet to to sign
October 31st, 2006 at 12:54 am
If Tubby was just recruiting both of them then let the chips fall where they may (and they MAY fall with Lucas as a backup for most of his career (and/or Jasper especially playing some also at other positions). But as I read Matt’s blog it seems that the “package” and John Lucas Might affect the fairness of decisions. Not because Tubby is known for unfair decisions but it seems like Lucas (Sr.) is a huge influencer with pushy parent syndrome. Didn’t Matt say he ran some of the practice?
October 31st, 2006 at 1:17 am
Trust me, the best point guard will play… I mean Tubby started Saul Smith for 3 years. He has a great eye for point guards… (Just kidding dont flame :P)
October 31st, 2006 at 1:19 am
what Minicooper said.
October 31st, 2006 at 1:24 am
Jasper will get the job after Bradley. Tubby runs guards in and out so there is plenty of opportunity for Lucas to get PT and then once Jasper leaves (and he very well may be good enough to leave early particularly since the NBA loves big guards) Lucas would have the job.
October 31st, 2006 at 1:35 am
What those kids need to do is go find out where Joe Forte is working now and try and get his autograph.
October 31st, 2006 at 1:54 am
Look, I eat spidies and dirty dydies. What do you do?
October 31st, 2006 at 2:16 am
sweet mark pope video. i actually have the real ones autograph! this is the first time i’ve actually had a reason to say that…
October 31st, 2006 at 2:17 am
Give me Jasper over Lucas any day of the week. Jasper is wayyyyyyy better than even bradley……bradley imo is not a point guard and it will show this season. Jasperr in my opinion will surprise alot of people and it will be hard to keep him out of the lineup, i just hope tubby doesnt play him out of position too much i mean i know he will some times.
October 31st, 2006 at 2:40 am
There should be nothing that keeps Tubby from running a 3-guard lineup at times this season. Jasper can play at the three position on defense and still bring the ball up the floor and run the offense when necessary. Both Bradley and Jasper will see playing time together this season and this will happen with Lucas and Jasper in the future if Lucas comes here.
We need Lucas as a shooting threat from the PG position (did you see his 3-point %…i think 45%).
October 31st, 2006 at 4:06 am
ukblue i agree with you but i think people are really putting too much confidence in bradley being a point guard and to me everytime he has the ball in his hands i cringe cause 90 plus percent of the time he is going to jack up an ill advised shot……..i dig bradley but i dont want him at point guard.
October 31st, 2006 at 4:07 am
lol but who am i its just my opinion.
October 31st, 2006 at 4:47 am
Kentucky must improve their scoring margin and that means more firepower in the lineup. Crawford back at 2, Bradley being a capable scorer himself, and Bobby Perry shooting well from the 3 gives Kentucky that boost they need because let’s face it… we are terribly lacking at offense from the 4 and somebody has got to take up the slack. If nobody gets hurt I think we have a good group this year so long as we make sure nothing happens to Randolph Morris. Have a student drive him around and have a trained nurse and armed bodyguard riding shotgun.
This team will be better than last year because we didn’t defend well and we had offensive liabilities all over the court. By putting Joe back at 2 due to Perry’s emergence and having Bradley as another legit scoring option to go along with Meeks and Jasper giving what I think will be a nice boost off the bench is an improvement. The only question I have is PF. If we can just get consistent rebounding and defense from that spot with Thomas and Stevenson then this team could be great.
To me, that’s why Bradley at pg is important as it takes up the offensive slack and lessens the pressure of getting point production out of our PF
October 31st, 2006 at 6:40 am
John Lucas himself played in a 3 guard offense with Brad Davis and Mo Howard at Maryland in the 1970’s.
Both Jasper and Lucas would start at UK.
October 31st, 2006 at 6:41 am
#12 Wayne Turner started in 1998 and 99 - Saul was reserve PG. Get your BS straight next time.
Saul started in 2000 and 01. He won 110 games (27+ per year) at UK and 1 NC plus 3 SEC titles & tournament championships.
October 31st, 2006 at 8:03 am
Come on Matt, you could at least have given me credit for find the Mark Pope video. Not asking much is it?
October 31st, 2006 at 8:08 am
Are we pinning a little too much hope on a couple of guys with questionable academic backgrounds?
Making up 50 points on the SAT is not an easy accomplishment. So the assumption that can be quickly taken care of may warrant reconsideration. The other reality is that the level of competition in Alaska may not be up to par with other more populated areas. Thus, even if Harris gets here, he may have some adjusting to the level of competition to do. Plus, he has missed on all the conditioning and practice to date. Shall we say the odds of him coming in to be an immediate fix or even a contributor are not favorable.
October 31st, 2006 at 8:37 am
chill, if he can stroke it from outside the way I’ve heard him advertised, his services will be used for sure.
October 31st, 2006 at 8:42 am
I really like what I see from Moses. He seems to be a great kid.
I am more impressed with what he does off the court.
October 31st, 2006 at 9:13 am
Matt, spot on observation about the intangibles of John/Jai Lucas. If Jai Lucas weren’t half as talented, it would be worth taking him as a “glue” guy. The fact that he’s immensely talented only adds to his appeal. With Lucas and Porter, you’d have two, tough, intelligent coaches’ sons setting the tone for the team when they’re both upperclassmen [not to mention Meeks and other classmates with the right attitudes].
On PT, I think Jasper will get plenty of chances to audition at PG this year, and if he proves himself worthy, he’ll probably start there next season (with Bradley moving to the 2, and Joe going back to the 3, where we’re weak).
October 31st, 2006 at 9:19 am
Derrick Jasper’s future is brightest at the Point-Forward spot
Next year, when we play Bradley/Crawford/Jasper or in the future when it is Meeks/Jasper/Lucas occaisionally at the same time, it will free up Lucas to take his shot, which is quite good.
October 31st, 2006 at 9:27 am
Catmancando,
What does Moses do off the court that impresses you? The only thing Ive heard about him off the court is that his academics may not be good enough to get into school yet. Please explain.
October 31st, 2006 at 9:35 am
I likes me some men.
90% of all my statistics are made up or twisted. See my post #24.
I likes me some Saul with my Tubby. Mmmmm good.
October 31st, 2006 at 9:39 am
26 50 more points on the SAT is not that much and could be had easily via nothing but luck. Of course with pure luck it could go lower too. Just taking it a few times is bound to yield one score that much higher.
October 31st, 2006 at 9:54 am
#31, Marshall jams for Jesus.
October 31st, 2006 at 9:56 am
So Matt, are we still in great shape with Buford for ‘08 like we were a couple of days ago?
I hope we are in better “great shape” with Jai and Patrick than we were with Damon.
October 31st, 2006 at 10:06 am
If Lucas comes, Jasper will spend most of his time at SF while he’s here. He could set up the offense from that spot as well. What’s wrong with having quality ball handlers everywhere on the court?
October 31st, 2006 at 10:08 am
With a player as versatile as Jasper, I don’t see playing time being an issue.
October 31st, 2006 at 10:09 am
Find for me Miguel where I said we were in “great shape” with Buford….because I didnt. I have not followed his recruitment much at all and was not going to until the 07 class was finished.
October 31st, 2006 at 10:18 am
Word is spreading around the internet that Moses dropped 50 points in his first game Friday night.
October 31st, 2006 at 10:21 am
So Anderson is out. Good if he likes Kansas, bad if he likes OSU I guess.
October 31st, 2006 at 10:40 am
I haven’t listened to the Barry Booker episode yet, but when I do how will I be able to tell his and Your voice apart Matt?
By 10 Novemeber Lucas and patterson will committ. JMHO
October 31st, 2006 at 10:40 am
Some info on Harris. He was a member of 4 state championship teams, 3 with West Anchorage, and 1 with Bartlett. Harris averaged 19 ppg and 9 rpg during the State Tournament. Harris was named the Alaska 4A player of the year, this past season.
I don’t care what level you’re on, winning 4 straight championships is one heck of an accomplishment. I can’t understand why this kid doesn’t have more attention nationally.
October 31st, 2006 at 10:43 am
Matt congrads on your show, unfortunatly you can’t pick up that station in Louisville after dark very well.
Lets hope you get moved to aearlier slot soon.
October 31st, 2006 at 10:45 am
Good info Mattcat….
Is there any way to remove Miguel from existence?
October 31st, 2006 at 10:57 am
Mattcat 73,
I have been telling everyone that Moses is a great player. If you follow this stuff closely(and go and watch kids play) every now and then a kid comes along that is not super highly touted but wows you when you watch him. That is what Moses is to me. I saw him play and expected him to be atleast a top 30 ranked player. He is physically mature, extremely athletic and has very good basketball skills. I think he can help as a freshman at sf and pf.
October 31st, 2006 at 11:02 am
Matt I agree Friday Nigths Lights is a awesome show. But I dont like the way there going with
Riggins and Streets girlfriend.I just cant stand back stabbing in that agree, but it is a great
show.
Also awesome job on the news as always.
October 31st, 2006 at 11:15 am
glord, I’ve only seen video compilations of Moses. I always take video highlights with a grain of salt, because they don’t represent an entire game, and just about anyone can be made to look like a superstar.
However, from what I’ve seen, it’s pretty clear that Moses is a very versatile player who has nice range as a shooter, and can score off the bounce too. He actually reminds me of Ron Mercer. Not that he’s as good as Mercer, but he seems to have that type of game. I’m very excited about Moses and hope he joins the big blue family.
October 31st, 2006 at 11:21 am
You sure give the impression that things are looking good with Bufod in this post Matt. You don’t promise he will sign, and I didn’t claim you did, but it sure seems to me like you are painting an optimistic picture about our chances of landing him — Hopson and Mackey as well for that matter.
” Finally, dont forget the juniors, who Tubby has gotten an earlier start on than in any year during his tenure. William Buford of Ohio is a top player looking at the Cats and Tubby is in very strong with the Morris Twins who now fit into this equation as well. And then there are of course the three Kentucky kids that may or may not end up in Lexington. It is WAYYYY to early to predict 08, but the chance is finally there for UK to get something rare during the Tubby Smith era……an EARLY commitment from a TOP player. Would be nice.”
October 31st, 2006 at 11:23 am
#32 is an imposter, not me.
October 31st, 2006 at 11:25 am
Moses plays at Patterson School in Lenior NC along with:
The Patterson School Prep team is led by returning starters: muscular 6-5 guard/forward Dominique Sutton, a Durham, NC, resident being recruited by N.C. State, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Kansas State, and others; 6-6 forward Tirrell Baines, Laurens, SC, who committed last year to College of Charleston, but is now being recruited by Auburn, Charlotte, Charleston, and others; 6-5 guard/forward Jeremy Hazel, Bronx, NY, now committed to Seton Hall; and 6-1 point guard Chris Poelnitz, Toledo, OH, who is being heavily recruited by Appalachian State.
Other top Patterson Prep players include: future Charlotte 49er, 6-6 forward An’Juan Wilderness, Dunwoody, GA; Tennessee-bound sharpshooting wing forward 6-6 Cameron Tatum, Tucker, GA; one of the top three players in the Class of 2009, 6-8 sophomore power forward Karron Johnson, Richmond, VA, now being evaluated by North Carolina, N.C. State, Wake Forest, Charlotte, Virginia, and many others; massive 7-2, 325-pound, junior James Tyler, Richmond, VA, rated among the Top 20 prospects in the Class of 2008, and being recruited by North Carolina, N.C. State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.
Patterson head coach Chris Chaney also has Rutgers recruit, 6-5, guard/forward Earl Pettis, Philadelphia, PA; athletic 6-8 center/forward Tyrell Lynch, Niagara Falls, NY; versatile 6-7 wing forward Antonio DiMaria, a resident of Pittsburgh, PA, committed to Kent State; tenacious 6-3 combo guard Heath White, Cincinnati, OH; high-flying 6-5 guard Bobby Shannon, Washington, DC; crafty 5-10 point guard D’Mario Caesar, Buffalo, NY, committed to Southern Mississippi;plus five others on the talent-laden Patterson Prep nineteen-man roster.
October 31st, 2006 at 11:28 am
UK was in the final 3 for Buford. He was AAU teammate of Darius Miller.
http://bearcatnews.com/recruiting/bio/340 Ohio St, UK, and Mich St are the 3.
October 31st, 2006 at 11:35 am
Are people really complaining about over-recruiting? By the way, you guys are arguing about playing time between a guy who is yet to play in a collegiate basketball game, and a guy who is yet to play a basketball game his senior year in high school. I don’t think you can ever have too much talent. Also, “William Buford of Ohio is a top player looking at the Cats,” does not mean we are “in great shape.”
October 31st, 2006 at 11:41 am
Miguel, how does “William Buford of Ohio is a top player looking at the Cats” paint an optimistic picture of us landing him? You look for everything you can to bash not only Matt and his info but its seems like Uk as well. Stop coming to the site if you dont like the info.
October 31st, 2006 at 12:06 pm
from what i.ve seen and heard moses and harris
can play 3 positions we can use them both
October 31st, 2006 at 12:26 pm
What a stupid video! Well good luck with Patterson, Tubby. I love you Tubby!
October 31st, 2006 at 12:36 pm
Actually Miguel what you did was use the phrase “great shape” in quotation marks, which of course implies that I used those exact words. That of course is a lie. All I said was that Buford was looking at the Cats….wwhich his visit to UK suggests he was. That of course is not sensational enough, so you preferred to lie and then assume no one would you call you on it. I did.
You goal on here is of course to spread your agenda, which is both anti-UK and anti-this site. It is a tired act and I dont know who you seek to impress with it.
October 31st, 2006 at 12:46 pm
Get lost miguel, you suck.
October 31st, 2006 at 12:49 pm
Regarding the SAT, the average increase with taking it a 2nd time is 30 points. Thereafter, more variance occurs with eventual regression to the mean score. Timing is an issue, however, with a substantial overall drop in the test score of all taking the exam. Part of this is attributed to some revisions in the test. Keep in mind this may not reflect nor predict any particular individuals’s performance. So a 50 point increase right now is within the realm of possibility, but no gimme. This change in the test and the drop in scores were a hot news item a couple of months ago.
October 31st, 2006 at 12:51 pm
“Great shape” in quotes in this case did not mean you said it. It meant that it was not true. Kind of ike saying you are “unbiased” in your reports.
I have to ask, don’t you feel even the slightest bit guilty about continually painting false pictures for the UK fans in order to try to raise their hopes and make it appear Tubby is doing wonderful work?
How in the world are you going to cover your butt when Patterson and / or Lucas fail to commit to the Cats? Your followers are going to be mighty angry I am afraid. I’m not sure if blaming the fans is going to work this time.
October 31st, 2006 at 1:06 pm
Miguel, Matt routinely provides information for free that other sites charge a premium for. Why on earth do you feel the need to attack that?
You can disagree with Matt’s outlook and many here do, but I think Matt does a very good job of pointing out what is fact and what is his opinion. Matter of fact he directly states it most of the time. So at least don’t bust the guy’s chops for giving us directly quoted material from the recruits’ own mouths and then interjecting his own positive outlook on things as I think we all can clearly differentiate between the two. It’s not like he’s running a propaganda campaign because if he were then you wouldn’t see the divergence of opinion that is presented here, it would all be packaged and censored like they do on TCP. The mere fact that he is letting you make your posts (up to this point) proves that he is not trying to do many of the things you openly accuse him of.
October 31st, 2006 at 1:07 pm
Buford visited UK in October and declared OSU, UK, and MSU as his top 3.
HE said it, not Matt Jones.
You’re a DD asshole.
October 31st, 2006 at 1:07 pm
What happened to the movie?
October 31st, 2006 at 1:20 pm
I chickened out and pulled it … I didn’t want anyone to get offended. I thought it was funny, but worried others wouldn’t.
October 31st, 2006 at 1:20 pm
Tom, has Miguel said he was a DD poster as I don’t recognize him as such… and at what point are
you going to start judging posters based on the content of their character instead of the choice of their homepage?
“When we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every board and every website, from every blog and every message board, we will be able to speed up that day when all of Kentucky’s children, fat men and skinny men, ignorant and geniuses, literate and uneducated, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Kentucky spiritual, “free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we have a coach that can recruit at last!”
October 31st, 2006 at 1:22 pm
I get more posts deleted here than posts that stay.
We should know what will happen with Patterson and Lucas in the next couple of weeks. All indications on here are that Lucas is almost definitely ours and that Patterson most likely is as well.
Lets see what happens.
October 31st, 2006 at 1:25 pm
#64 - I have checked them out, but I don’t like Dynasty Defenders.
They are too positive about the state of the program for my tastes.
October 31st, 2006 at 1:25 pm
We all are going to be crushed when Jai decides to go to OSU because they are short on players and he will see that he will get playing time from the the beginning. I hope you all are prepared for this to happen.
October 31st, 2006 at 1:27 pm
Miguel wields sarcasm like Tom wields Krispy Kremes.
October 31st, 2006 at 1:53 pm
Miguel, (and usually I just ignore you and will continue to in the future), if people think that I have promised that kids are going to UK, it is in part because people like you say that I say things that I have never said. All I said about Buford was that Tubby was in on him early….which he was. You were the one that said that I said we were in “great shape” or that we were going to get him….those are your words, not mine.
Similarly with Lucas and Patterson, I am very careful what I say. I do think we have been and are the leader for Jai. If he goes elsewhere, then he goes elsewhere. But I gave the best information I have. I am much less sure about Patrick and think it could go any way. I have made that clear for some time as well.
Your goal is simply to hate on what others are doing while providing nothing worthwhile yourself. It is the worst of all options because unlike even the folks at DD, you arent providing anything except attacks on others. It is the lamest type of posting and is of no value. If we dont get Lucas and Patterson, people will be upset. I am sure some will take that anger out on me….that of course will be stupid. But either way, if we get the young men or dont, it wont make you any more worthwhile to this board. As they say zero times zero is still zero.

I’ll admit, I am a loser.
October 31st, 2006 at 2:04 pm
Even I don’t like Miguel. Unless he wants to buy a video.
October 31st, 2006 at 2:10 pm
Those who say it is unfair to Jasper dont know what they are talking about. Jasper and Lucas have become friends if you can believe it or not. Jasper has even written on Lucas’ myspace page, so that tells you alot.
October 31st, 2006 at 2:10 pm
Miguel has lame posts. Anyway, Matt, what station will your show be broadcast on in Louisville? And will it be on in Lex-town? Just tryin to spread the word.
October 31st, 2006 at 2:17 pm
Buford to O$U huh…whatever
October 31st, 2006 at 2:23 pm
Miguel - You know those acquittances who are horrible people and everyone avoids? They eat with their mouth open, talk loudly on their cell phone, leave their kids in a hot cars, and are in general ‘tards….You are one of those people - defintely on here and quite likely in real life.

Ohio St has 9 FF and won NC in 1960. They are a fine program. Thad Matta doesn’t cheat.
October 31st, 2006 at 3:05 pm
I don’t do Krispy Kremes, sorry. Too hard to digest.
October 31st, 2006 at 3:07 pm
If lucas commits ,he will play point with jasper playing small foward,a three guard lieup like illinoishad with williams, that is after bradley and crawford are gone.
October 31st, 2006 at 3:13 pm
Tom, as was Miguel’s sarcasm.
October 31st, 2006 at 3:14 pm
PT for Lucas is such a non-issue I can’t believe we are still discussing it. Anyone know any good resturants?
October 31st, 2006 at 3:20 pm
Plenty of playing time to go around
October 31st, 2006 at 3:30 pm
Matt — Let me say something in your defense, not that you really need it.
As we know, I have disagreed with you a lot over the years, and I have even criticized you here and on other boards. I am also quite sure I will disagree with you again in the future, so don’t get the wrong idea about this post, but I want to commend you on the good work you do here.
Your site is highly informative and shares information with the fans that we have never had access to before. Again, I don’t always agree with your takes on the info you gather, but I respect you for sharing it and for putting yourself out there on the line. It takes guts to take a stand on issues knowing you arer going to face criticism for them (believe me I know all about that).
I just want to say thank you for doing what you do.
There is no doubt you are a great Cat fan — you just happen to be wrong about Tubby.
October 31st, 2006 at 3:33 pm
Yeah, one of the premier in basketball Tom. Always
mentioned with the elite. Not to be too petty, but
they’re not even a top Big X basketball program overall.
Thad hasn’t done ANYTHING extraordinary to be anything
better than a good coach. Great school - facilities - football
- conference for football.
October 31st, 2006 at 3:44 pm
Did anyone else hear the Morris comparison to Duncan or was I dreaming?. I heard it on FSN preview.I thought it was interesting and I believe there is some truth. Either way, I believe if he stays out of foul trouble, he’ll have unbelievable numbers
October 31st, 2006 at 3:48 pm
Surprised about Lucas comment on Maryland. Maryland is a basketball school that also plays some football. If they were in the SEC they would be right there with Kentucky.
October 31st, 2006 at 3:48 pm
I mean in football
October 31st, 2006 at 3:54 pm
#78 is an imposter. I likes me a Tubby and Thad Matta sandwich.
I also likes me some Greg Hoover for desert. Our foreplay is statistics.
October 31st, 2006 at 4:21 pm
I personally believe we lead for Lucas right now! It is just my gut feeling. I have read different things all over the net from analysts, posters, so called-experts, etc. and from what Jai has actually said in interviews about his visits.
Oklahoma according to everyone has never been a real player in this even though Jai likes Coach Capel. So that leaves OSU, Maryland, and UK. I don’t think he goes to OSU b/c they are so thin and short on players that in turn makes them down and reloading and I do not think Jai wants to go that route. Maryland is a viable option, but following in your dad’s footsteps is a demon all to itself and takes a special kid to handle,I think Jai can handle it, but will he WANT to? UK wants Jai and he LOVED his visit and LOVED the Big Blue fans and how comfortable everything was, he LOVED his in-home vist of over 6 hours, and he LOVES Tubby. Those are his words in different interviews and one would think Jai is at the least favoring UK at this point.
All indications are that we may know as early as Monday of next week and at the latest the end of next week. Here’s to Jai Lucas being a Kentucky Wildcat and Marshall Moses being one after this weekend.
October 31st, 2006 at 4:24 pm
I ask in 74 because my co-workers made me turn off the show before the end. They are a bunch of girls and do not have a proper love obsession with all things UK sports.
October 31st, 2006 at 4:34 pm
Will be on 1570 AM in Louisville….hope to be on in Lexington in the very near future. Friday at 6 this week, but normally it will be on Wednesdays at 6

#65 “I get more posts deleted here than posts that stay.”
Hehe, I wonder why cheeseburger.
October 31st, 2006 at 5:00 pm
OK, those were not very good jokes. Anyone have any good knitting patterns they’d like to share?
October 31st, 2006 at 5:03 pm
Hey Matt or anyone that can guide me, I want to read the articles you guys are reading, so please tell me where to go!
October 31st, 2006 at 5:37 pm
At first, this post excited me, but I was soon disheartened when I read it and found out that Delroy Lindo isn’t the key to this recruiting class.
October 31st, 2006 at 5:38 pm
I am not sure what you are asking mwildcat…..the info I write comes from me, not articles.
October 31st, 2006 at 5:43 pm
Illinois seemed to do fairly well with their deep backcourt a few years back.
October 31st, 2006 at 6:01 pm
I think the million dollar question with Patterson right now, is will he announce in November or wait until Spring? I would be a bit nervous about UK’s chances if he decides to wait until spring.
October 31st, 2006 at 6:24 pm
#94 and #95 are imposters, not me.
Matt Jones, please stop this crap.
October 31st, 2006 at 6:25 pm
#89 is another imposter.
Matt, do your job.
October 31st, 2006 at 6:29 pm
I know what you write, I am talking about the articles some of these people say they read and I just want to read it myself!! By the way Matt great job and of course I am sure I can speak for all of us TRUE BLUE fans when is the next update?
October 31st, 2006 at 6:34 pm
Impostering is for chickenshits IMO. Matt should be able to out them by IP or something.
October 31st, 2006 at 7:00 pm
Matt, it might be about time to make this site have some user names or something so you can ban people and so we can actually have decent discussion on here.

Finally, a site where a die hard cat fan can read some recruiting info without having to be an “insider” or a “premium” member. Keep up the good work Matt. Don’t let nancyboys like miguel or any other cat-basher get away with ish like that. All I can say is how can UF fans argue with the best record of all time?
October 31st, 2006 at 7:22 pm
I don’t believe it’s Matt’s job to root out the “imposters”. The only posters that are
being impersonated are the troblemakers. I think they are reaping what they sew.
October 31st, 2006 at 7:22 pm
Oops…..sow instead of sew
October 31st, 2006 at 7:26 pm
Very good work indeed
October 31st, 2006 at 7:29 pm
oh yeah i almost forgot–Dr. Bob, you better not be Bobby Leahy….
October 31st, 2006 at 7:39 pm
Dr. Bob is the team proctologist in Gainesville, where he excels in disorders of the prostate. I heard that the intern once got a rectal exam by Dr. Bob and ever since, he’s never been the same. This is how he always gets his “inside scoop.”
October 31st, 2006 at 7:50 pm
I’ve not posted much “I’m new”,But I think they do a great job here,IF, you are a FAN.
If not then you won’t find satisfaction anywhere, you will contiually bitch.I consider
myself a UK FAN.Just curious, maybe looking for real FANS, but who out there remembers
who ended Dan Issels career? And how they did it? Was anyone else listening on
radio the night UK held another SEC team scoreless in overtime to WIN….ON THE ROAD…
THAT MY FRIENDS…
IS UK BASKETBALL. Thanks Matt for the site.
October 31st, 2006 at 7:59 pm
Jacksonville. Vaughn Wedeking (5-10 guard) flopped and got a charge call on Issel with 10 minutes left to foul him out.
October 31st, 2006 at 8:02 pm

October 31st, 2006 at 8:54 pm
Thank you Tom,Would be nice to see other people that understood the history…
Instead of mouthing off about…yesterday…Some folks need to get a grip and
realize UK has been doing this for a VERY long time. As I’ve said before,
“Good thing some folks grandparents did’nt raise enough HELL to run Rupp off”
Good work.
October 31st, 2006 at 11:45 pm
loother and Tom, that 1969-70 team had a chance to cut the nets down even without SI coverboy Mike Casey. Other than Vandy on the road that year, that Mideast final was the only other blemish. IF Mike Casey had not broken his leg in a car accident prior to the start of the season, that team although #1 in the final AP poll, would have cut down the nets IMO.
As to the loss to Jacksonville, it was the first time a Rupp coached team had a., used all of its timeouts and b., four of five starters fouled out. I happened to find that earlier this summer in the H-L recap of the game from a scrapbook I kept as a kid.
November 1st, 2006 at 7:05 am
Mike Casey, true.
Even if Randy Pool and Bob McCowan hadn’t been caught drinking (in a tavern) at Miss St. Imagine that. Finding a tavern in Starkville back then. UK trainer Clyde Vaughn caught them.
The 1970 team was #1 in the AP poll over UCLA. Perhaps the second best UK team not to make FF (1954 the best).
November 1st, 2006 at 8:01 am
T. Gray, I don’t always agree with your opinions, but I appreciate your historical perspective. I, too, find some of the anecdotal info from past decades the most interesting.
November 1st, 2006 at 9:58 am
#89.
That seems harsh…
November 1st, 2006 at 10:27 am
#120 stand in line behind my wife. She often has a different opinion, too.
Hers usually wins out.
November 1st, 2006 at 2:06 pm
Tom I know you visit alot of different sites. What is your take on Lucas and Patterson do you have an opinion where they will end up? The Maryland Board (Toffer especialy believes Patterson and Lucas have decided and will anounce at the beginning of the signing period for Florida and Maryland. Thanks for opinion.
November 1st, 2006 at 2:14 pm
I wouldn’t worry about Jasper. He’s good enough that he’ll be in the lineup soon.
November 1st, 2006 at 6:10 pm
#122 - I guess we will find out who has the better insiders.
Toffer made his claims. Matt has expressed his opinions as well.
I am betting on Matt.
November 1st, 2006 at 6:44 pm
Thanks Tom. I wasn’t doubting Matt, recruiting is ever changing, I just was wondering your opinion.
November 1st, 2006 at 8:16 pm
#125 is yet another imposter. NOT ME.
November 1st, 2006 at 8:17 pm
#123 this is really me.
It’s 50-50 on both. UK or Fla most likely for PP. UK or Maryland for Jai.
November 1st, 2006 at 11:26 pm
This is really me. Don’t let all these imposters fool you.
UK will get Patterson for sure. I guarantee it.
Lucas will verbal to OSU, but in a surprising twist will actually sign with Maryland. This story will get even more bizarre when his dad John signs on to coach at UK even though his son is attending Maryland.
November 2nd, 2006 at 7:27 am
#129 FALSE - you are the imposter.

I have to say, that I could not agree with you in 100% regarding s Recruiting Class?, but it’s just my opinion, which could be wrong
