Hey look, it’s the Saturday Morning Links!

by @ 10:00 am. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

-The Bat Cats are only one game away from playing for an SEC title, with the Mississippi State Bulldogs standing in their way. Starting pitcher, Corey Littrell, didn’t have a great showing against the Bulldogs in his May 19th start, but has a chance at redemption today.

-There are a ton of prep tournaments this weekend. Our main man, Evan Daniels, outlines each tourney and the future college hoops stars playing in them here. Among the players in action are UK targets Jabari Parker, Andrew Wiggins, The Harrison Twins, and James Young. Take a look.

-Talk has surfaced that there might be a rankings shake up in the 2014 class. Right now, everyone has penciled in Wiggins as the top guy, but Chicago Whitney Young big man Jahlil Okafor is not far behind. Personally, I don’t buy it. I’ve seen both these players in action, and I think Wiggins is a better player. According to Rivals.com, Okafor is not considering Kentucky right now, but maybe Coach Cal will change that pretty soon.

-NBC Sports’ Robert Dauster published a great article about Coach Calipari, and how he continues to be ahead of the recruiting curve. In the article, he channels Cal’s recruitment of 2015 New Jersey big man, Karl Towns.

-ESPN High School basketball experts held a fantasy draft of 2013 high school players. They tell why they drafted certain players at certain positions, and give a little more insight into next year’s class. I love this type of thing.

-UK signee, Derek Willis, took a drop in the new rankings of both ESPN and Scout.com. He talks about why he thinks he dropped so far, and why he doesn’t pay much attention to analysts.

Seen the top ten dunks of the NBA regular season yet? Well, John Wall and Kenneth Faried make appearances and Blake Griffin abuses Pau Gasol twice. The helpless looks on Pau’s face are priceless. Please, Check it out:

With the expanded field in preparation for adding Texas A&M and Arkansas they have double elimination for four days and single elimination for two days. UK and Vandy are the only teams that can be knocked out of the tournament with only one loss. The other eight have to loss two games to be eliminated. They have double elimination for four days and single elimination for two days. Yes, UK pitchers are more rested than those of Miss St and UF but they would still have that advantage even if Miss. St or UF had to beat UK twice.

  2. Gogh Big Bleu Says:

    Wow, those dunks are RIDONK.

  3. Inquiring UK minds want to know Says:

Speaking of a Jahlil, where did Jaleel Cousins decide to go?

  4. The Big Toe Says:

    That Fareed dunk was ka-razy!!

  5. kevin Says:

Dunk #2 on the list is NOT A DUNK. NBA constantly plays that clip but Griffin did not dunk that ball. Its amazing that he was high enough to throw it in the way he did but it is not a dunk because his hand never touched the rim.

  6. Double Dribble Says:

    5) did you not like my dunks? haha, NES FTW!

  8. Quick Fiftino Says:

Good thing Blake can jump higher than anyone else, otherwise he wouldn’t be in the league. Gasol>Griffin. P.S: Over the back is a foul too.

  9. snarkster Says:

Anyone who doesn’t include Andrew Wiggins is an idiot

  10. Bigblueaces Says:

Can somebody explain to me how in the hell the SEC baseball tourney is NOT on TV?

  11. Jim Says:

They should have included Anthony Davis. He had a lot better dunks than some of those. And also, every dunk that Blake Griffin gets he either uses his arm to push off or comes over someone’s back.

  12. Keith Law Says:

Derek Willis is garbage. He will be the second coming of Jon Hood.

  13. Nasty Steve Says:

Vegas BABAY! UNLV just picked up a transfer named Roscoe Smith. They’re trying to be like a big boy team! How cute.

Nasty Steve loves his wildcats, but he’s going gamblin’ in Las Vagas this year.
