Reds Goggles Wants Afternoon Notes and Matthew Mitchell’s Awesome Podcast

by @ 3:00 pm. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

It’s the Friday before Memorial Day weekend so forgive me if my attention is somewhere else today. Let’s do this, quickly…

— UK announced the basketball team’s cumulative spring GPA this afternoon and your national champion Cats combined for a solid 3.12 GPA. If we combined the GPAs of the KSR writers, it would be somewhere around a 2.1, assuming Hunter Campbell can get his test scores up to qualify for tonight’s 8:00 post.

Tony Trocha continues to be the Colombian Man of Mystery.

— It’s looking the Cards are in great shape to land Montrezl Harrell from Hargrave Military/Virginia Tech. Harrell’s first visit will be to Louisville on May 31 and he won’t have much time to look elsewhere after that. He’ll be off to Colorado after Louisville to try out for USA Basketball’s U18 team and then it’ll be decision time shortly after that. I’ll go through and delete all of the positive comments about him if you’d like.

— While you’re stocking up on 2-liters of Dr. Thunder and potato salad for the weekend getaway, Terrence Jones and Doron Lamb are in in Santa Monica working out in front of NBA scouts. According to Chad Ford, around 80 NBA GMs are in the building to watch Jones, Lamb and other NBA prospects today.

— I’m still laughing at Ryan Lemond’s “Big Butts” video. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as me.

— In news that makes me happier than Richie Farmer at an office supply giveaway, Atlantic City is close to adding sports books to its casinos. New Jersey Governor Christopher Christie is moving forward with the plan, saying his administration is now formally submitting sports wagering regulations for public review, which is the next step in the process. Road trip this fall???

— Our man Danny Palmer’s Anthony Davis cereal portrait is blowing up all over the internet today and we couldn’t be happier for his exposure. I’ve seen it featured on SI.com, ESPN, CBSSports… hell, it’s everywhere.

— Today’s podcast… You already know…

I like to think that the 3-goggles had something to do with Mesoraco’s grand slam. Classic. Go Reds. Go Cats.

  7. BNClay Says:

I was looking forward to possibly having some quality depth this year, but doesn’t look like it is gonna happen. I’d say it will be:

36 mpg for Noel, Poythress, Goodwyn, Harrow
25 mpg for Wiltjer, only because he will have fouls, or else he’d be 30+
    20 mpg for Mays
    5 mpg for Hood
    5 mpg for Stien
    1 mpg for Twanny

  8. BNClay Says:

No disrespect to any current Cats but the bench would have looked alot better if we had got Bennett, Oriaki, Shabazz, or Jefferson.

  9. mjblue2 Says:

Love my CATS and my REDLEGS!

  10. Roland Says:

So who is UL gonna kick off the team to get Harrell? They need to change their slogan to “L1C4….unless we find someone better”.
