Calipari Leaks New Wildcat Coal Lodge Pictures

by @ 7:17 pm. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

John Calipari gave Joe Craft & The Difference Makers a tour of the new Wildcat Coal Lodge today. Calipari tweeted out a few pictures of some of the new graphics from within the new building that should make fans pretty eager to see the finished product. The Lodge was already a top of the line facility for the UK players to live in during their time at Kentucky, but the upgrades are clearly making the place an even more attractive recruiting tool/residence area. Calipari seems to be paying homage to the NBA success of the former Wildcats as well as some of his teamwork concepts. Cal still gets it.

  1. Staff Says:

    Cal gets it.

  2. GBB Says:

I love Jorts being on the “What Did I Do To Improve Myself Today?” poster.

  3. Big Blue 66 Says:

and thats how you build a culture of not only basketball on court excellence but off court as well. I think it is clear to every young man entering that building what is expected and what the payoff can be.

  4. Jj Says:

    And of course

How much money did I get to play today

  5. BoomKentucky Says:

They need to make the Cats in the NBA board bigger.

  6. Big Blue 66 Says:

    4. first off, good god man, cant you come up with something more original, and UK doesnt have to pay our players up front, they make it on the back end when they are first round draft picks….see how that works, ohhhh, you love a team like UL or IU that hasnt seen much of that type of thing, we understand, but in the mean time STFU and pound sand

  7. Cogats Says:

The Jorts picture is amazing, I bet he wasn’t expecting he would be there when he sent that tweet in 2010.

  8. Cogats Says:

5.) some people will find any opportunity to complain, I am glad my self esteem is no where near yours.

  9. Ryan Says:

8)…..chill out. Number 5 wasn’t complaining he was joking, but if Cal keeps getting top talent he may be right. Looks as if only 2 spots are left. Not sure how his comment relays to self esteem but whatever……loks pretty cool to me.

  10. Duke sucks Says:

#9 Maybe it was a self observation of his self.

  11. Anthony Davis Has A Posse Says:

Gonna need a bigger wall for that first pic.

  12. BoomKentucky Says:

    8. I was only saying they will have more guys in the NBA. Only in a positive way. don’t see how that was taken bad. Ask the person not to urinate in your cheerios tomorrow. If your comments was in response to a post that was taken away disregard the above statement.

  13. WINNIN9 Says:

5.) 99% of us understood what you meant. Seriously though with the ridiculous amount of trolls on here lately it seems like everyone has been easy to get snippy. Just an observation. I occasionally go to other teams blogs (UL, IU, UT, etc.) just to see what’s up and they rarely have anyone trolling.

  14. hammerhead10101 Says:

Wow very impressive. The teammate picture and the Harrelson ones are great. I know it motivated me.

  15. Duke sucks Says:

Wasn’t coal what the students were protesting. Looks like that black rock has done a lot for UK.

  16. KC Says:

I guess they decided not to add Kanter to the wall.

  17. KC Says:

Never mind I believe he may be the photo in the far top corner.

  18. UK Freshmen Says:

…and yet nothing about history or academics. Figures.

  19. simple jack Says:

when can the common folk/fan wander grace these facilities?
i dont have a million $ to donate but i do go to home games when tickets are available…

  20. NotInsertNameHere Says:

They’ll have to redesign that In the NBA wall to make more room next year unless a couple cats retire.

  21. Where are WE in here? Says:

I know this isn’t the entire place, but I’d sure hope there are plenty of photo’s depicting the history of KY basketball. If not, then this is very disappointing. So far, this looks to be paying homage to the the last 3 years. I get that, but the players and coaches that got this program to the reason Cal even wanted to be here, need to be displayed in this building.

  22. Bob Loblaw Says:

I would love to have the Jorts one as a poster. I love these.

  23. uklaw95 Says:

    Jorts’ poster was AWESOME!

  24. foundation builder Says:

how can you not include the history of uk and only the past 3 years for a building that will be in place long after cal is gone. he would not have this oppurtunity if not for those who came before him. great recruiter but good lord he needs a slap in the face sometimes. learn some respect coach. and i am only 38 so lets not goto the bluehair name calling. some people just do not get it and it is ashame

  25. Bob Loblaw Says:

#24 Those look like they are made to be updated and replaced. I don’t think that a black and white photo of the fab five will inspire the players. Just saying.

  26. Doug Jones Says:

    Jorts Stall to the Wall

  27. Hoss_Cat Says:

Is Harrellson’s picture in the diplay with all of the nba players?

  28. Bob Loblaw Says:

#27 Top row, 5th from the left.

  29. Chicago Chris Says:

Better question, is Enes in the NBA display?

  30. Chicago Chris Says:

Can someone who knows the rules comment whether that image of Jorts blocking Sullinger actually a foul? Or do the hands become extensions of the ball, in this case, since is using his hands to cover the ball?

  31. Bob Loblaw Says:

#29 Top row and all the way to the right.

  32. Bob Loblaw Says:

In the display with the pictures of the players in their NBA uniform, Kanter is on the left right above Jorts.

  33. CAUKFAN Says:

They’re going to need a lot more space for that “In The NBA” wall.

To the history buffs: I hear you; I been around for a while too. However I can see the marketing strategy of keeping things current because kids don’t really relate to things that happened 20 years ago.

It looks cool and sends a great message and that’s what counts.
