October 30th, 2006 at 4:14 pm
White Castle burgers are disgusting. I can’t imagine doing an eating contest and having to down 20 or more of those things…eek.
October 30th, 2006 at 4:26 pm
White Castle has a new sandwich with Jalapeno pepper slices on it.
Are they really needed? Doesn’t the WC itself serve that purpose?
October 30th, 2006 at 4:26 pm
White Castles rule…
Of course, so does IHOP. Lexington FINALLY got an IHOP!
October 30th, 2006 at 4:27 pm
I thought it was interesting what Barry Booker had to say about home court advantages in the SEC. I have always heard that about UK and not being able to get the students involved. I thought the eRUPPtion Zone was a step forward. I guess not though? What things can the cats do to have more of a home court advantage?
October 30th, 2006 at 4:28 pm
If I didn’t have to work, I would totally be up for the challenge, I can put away a dozen of those in a sitting and walk away unscathed (I’m watching my weight nowadays, so I don’t as a rule).
Anyways, I’ll be at UK emergency department during the challenge, so I’ll be ready when Matt and others check in afterwards with abdominal pain

5)
Get rid of the blue-haired K funders who drink tea and eat crumpets during the games…
October 30th, 2006 at 4:39 pm
Barry Booker….. he ain’t no Barry Goheen.

Donna sends Tubby to White Castle to pick her up a sack of 10
Last night I heard that Donna got the “Crave” and sent Tubby up to the local White Castle to pick her up a “Sack of 10″ White Castle Hamburgers.
So Tubby got in his car and drove slow up to the White Castle and went in and got a sack of 10 for his honey to snack on while she devised our coaching strategies for the 2006-2007 season.
Tubby sat the sack of ten on the hood of the car and got his keys out of his pocket and drove home, upon arrival Donna came out and said “Hey Honey, I hope you got me some ketchup” Tubby responded “Oh crap Donna, I lost the sack of 10, I left it on the roof of the car, I promise is wont ever happen again”
Donna said…Bullshit Tubby..YOU ALWAYS LOSE 10.

Lexington actually has a pretty decent resturant selection especially when you consider how relatively small it is. The Chop House is great and I like Chipoltle’s for burritos and they have several Chinese resturants I like (especially the Hunan one on New Circle in front of where Service Merchandise used to be). Can’t find any good Chinese or Mexican food here in Saint Louis.
October 30th, 2006 at 5:26 pm
I find it hard to believe that the O’Dome has a homecourt advantage over Rupp when there is a big time game at Rupp.
October 30th, 2006 at 5:27 pm
“When Bruce Pearl is the hunted, he’s always been an awful coach?”
He won and won at Southern Indiana, granted it was at D2, but still.
And Lofton was the go to guy many times last year. He was the leading scorer most often for the Vols.
And Wingate’s snake picture (provided by yours truly) was posted AFTER he was kicked off. That was the topic of my blog.
October 30th, 2006 at 5:30 pm
Katman, why would you sign your name after that horrible joke?
That was the longest setup, for the worst joke, EVER!!
October 30th, 2006 at 5:35 pm
I love that pic of Wingate, MaconVol. It’s a lifesized mural on my living room wall. It says to me “I’m a guy who’s not afraid of giant snakes - or hairbrushes.”
October 30th, 2006 at 5:37 pm
Speaking of great places to eat in Lexington…Zaxbys will be arriving in Lexington within the next year for anyone who likes it.
October 30th, 2006 at 5:43 pm
Zaxby’s is an overpriced ARBY’s. Although ZAXBY’s fries are the SHIZNIT.
October 30th, 2006 at 5:44 pm
I think everything Barry said about Rupp is true it seems like
the only time some stand up is during the starting lineup.
October 30th, 2006 at 6:18 pm
Since when was Arby’s a chicken place SEKY? As for the newest episode…THANK YOU Barry for saying something about Rupp arena. Rupp can get up during big moments in the game, but overall, most people in there just sit around all the time and watch. #5, you asked what should we do to get more of a homecourt advantage? we need to get the students to surround the court like at UF. But that wont ever happen because the people around the court pay to much money and would never have their seats handed over to the students…which sucks for the whole environment of Rupp, but thats the way it is.
October 30th, 2006 at 6:24 pm
katman, you are a quintessential ASSHOLE.
October 30th, 2006 at 6:27 pm
#19
Why the namecalling?
If you didn’t like the joke, so what?
Looking at this, one can conclude that YOU are being the asshole.
October 30th, 2006 at 6:34 pm
By the Hammer of Thor, that was a horrible joke Katman.
October 30th, 2006 at 6:53 pm
The fast food I miss most from the West Coast is “Rubios Fish Tacos” and I don’t even like fish. When that chain gets east of the Rockies it is going to crush the competition. Crispy fish and guacamole with cabbage piled on top in a corn tortia with a twist of lime on it. For some reason it is addictive.
October 30th, 2006 at 7:14 pm
This is pretty good. Radio station places a prank call to a woman telling here they are reducing her SSN check to help Katrina victims:

^^bad language so make sure the kiddies aren’t around.
October 30th, 2006 at 7:21 pm
Columbia Steak House and the Night Hawk Special. Still 9.99?
October 30th, 2006 at 7:22 pm
#22 we got that in common. Rubios’ Fish Tacos are a must on our SLC visits.
Even better, Cafe Rio. Better than Rubios. Yep.
October 30th, 2006 at 7:24 pm
Actually #9 White Castle only puts 7.9 sliders in its Sack Of 10.
And gives you 26.8 of them when you order 2 dozen.
October 30th, 2006 at 7:27 pm
” The Chop House is great and I like Chipoltle’s for burritos and they have several Chinese resturants I like (especially the Hunan one on New Circle in front of where Service Merchandise used to be). ” Yes sireee come to America’s heartland for bad take out Chinese and upscale taco bell. Guess I better stick to big coastal cities.
October 30th, 2006 at 7:33 pm
I lived in San Diego for 23 years and my wife is Mexican so I think I am qualified to say what is good Mexican food and what isn’t. Chipoltle’s is a good burrito I don’t care if you call it an upscale Taco Bell or not. I have lived all over the United States including Hawaii and for its size Lexington has an excellent assortment of resturants. I live in Saint Louis right now and Lexington is New York by comparison to what they have here IMO.
October 30th, 2006 at 8:01 pm
28.
No more Imperial Hunan - IHOP took its place.
Hunan on Southland Drive is decent.
The only good Chinese Buffet left in town is #1 China Buffet in Crossroads (but never pay with credit/debit cards there)
Best Mexican is Jalapenos followed by Adobe. Chipotle is the bomb for the quick burrito fix, though, definitely better than Qdoba.
Best Thai in town is probably Mai Thai on Limestone St.
Best Pizza in town is Giovannis for delivery, Mellow Mushroom for sit down.
Best Bar in town is Marikka’s on Southland Drive
Best Japanese is Nagasaki with Yamamoto a close second.
Best Sushi, though, is Tokyo Sushi out Richmond road by the Kroger (ex Mega Mart)
Best fast food in town is Mr. Kabab on Richmond road
Best fine dining experience was Le Toulouse this summer, I’d say Jonathans has reclaimed their ascendence now that Le Toulouse’s brilliant chef has chosen to go back into the construction business.
Best Italian has to be Bella Notte followed closely by Portofino’s.
Best seafood in town: There is no best seafood in town. NEVER go out for seafood (unless its sushi!) unless you are within 100 miles of the ocean.
October 30th, 2006 at 8:04 pm
White Castle Preperation: Day 1.
5 Regular White Castles
5 Cheese White Castles
1 Chicken Ring
1 Reg Fry
2 Bottles of Water
15 Mins — At a medium pace
October 30th, 2006 at 8:04 pm
Crow,
St. Louis pretty much sucks in my experience. I had a good time out at the Delmar Loop area, but near my Hotel (around Lacleede’s Landing) it sucked - a bunch of obnoxious good-old-white-boy club kids with a holier-than-thou attitude - I almost got into a fight at least 10-25 times while I was there (in 2004).
October 30th, 2006 at 8:12 pm
Best fine dining has to be Belini’s or Metropol downtown… Add Belini’s to best I-talian as well.
October 30th, 2006 at 8:21 pm
Lexslamman, A lot of people say Jalapenos in their favorite Mexican resturant in Lexington. I prefer the original Mi Mexico on New Circle myself (keep in mind my reference point is 1996-1998 when I lived in Lexington).
I have been in Saint Louis for about a year now and I still am stuggling to find a good place to eat. The fast food here is inedible almost. Terrible quality. The food that I do like here is barbacue ribs at Harrahs casino in the Voodoo lounge, hamburgers at Blueberry Hill, Chicken Wings at Culpeppers, and pasta dishes at a little Italian joint called Adamos… oh, and they have a great pizza chain called “Fortels” that is good. Other than that I haven’t seen much.
October 30th, 2006 at 8:25 pm
#34 go across the river to Belleville. There’s a great steakhouse (called The Farmhouse or similar) there.
And for lunch, Our Lady Of The Snows (convent) soup and salad bar. Ever had Strawberry Soup? Delicious.
October 30th, 2006 at 8:26 pm
Any plans of having any sort of contest in Louisville?
October 30th, 2006 at 8:27 pm
Thanks 33, I forgot about Belinis - that place is great.
October 30th, 2006 at 8:27 pm
#30 Bob Chinn’s Crabhouse in Wheeling IL is more than 1000 miles from the nearest ocean.
You can’t find better seafood anywhere.
October 30th, 2006 at 8:42 pm
I think there needs to be a Louisville edition of the challenge as well. The winner gets to make the losers eat a cardinal. Plucked or unplucked, losers choice.
October 30th, 2006 at 8:44 pm
“And for lunch, Our Lady Of The Snows (convent) soup and salad bar. Ever had Strawberry Soup? Delicious.”
If that’s not a joke of some kind, it actually sounds like something I’d like to try aside from the “convent” part. Sounds too similar to “soup line” I guess.
October 30th, 2006 at 8:57 pm
Not a joke. They have 8 to 12 different soups every day. Strawberry Soup (served cold) is my favorite.
October 30th, 2006 at 9:01 pm
Y’all better eat some more VEGETABLES or y’all a gonna DIE. Got it?
October 30th, 2006 at 9:05 pm
Like J. Morrison said “I eat more TOFU than any man ever seen ALL RIGHT!”
October 30th, 2006 at 9:08 pm
Vegetarianism is a mental illness.
October 30th, 2006 at 9:17 pm
An illness that KEEPS US ALIVE…..you cowchower. Ha!
October 30th, 2006 at 9:28 pm
How ’bout someone over there EAT 50 White Castles and wear a WET SUIT CONTINUOUSLY FOR 3 DAYS just to see how that works out for ya.
October 30th, 2006 at 9:37 pm
U wouldn’t have to “wear” one. NATURE would provide one 4 U.
October 30th, 2006 at 10:07 pm
the number nine post wasn’t funny at all.
October 30th, 2006 at 10:50 pm
Quite possibly the worst joke I ever read….I’m serious.
October 30th, 2006 at 11:33 pm
Matt, for someone as well-versed in college hoops as you are, the not so subtle “They pay for players” refrain is pretty lame. Without any proof, it smacks of sour grapes. Just this man’s opinion.
October 30th, 2006 at 11:44 pm
The truth often hurts JL
October 31st, 2006 at 12:06 am
Hmmm. I’d love to hear more someday. Great show, btw. Chris needs a spinoff.
October 31st, 2006 at 12:13 am
A guy I used to work with ate an entire 30 pack, or “crave case”, in 33 minutes. He had numbness in his extremities for the next few hours, but at least he got them all for free. If he weren’t in Texas right now I think Hubby would be in for some serious embarrassment.
October 31st, 2006 at 6:23 am
#5 Before I attended college @ UK I went to Illinois State and I found their basketball stadium
rowdier. The main reasons was they put all the students on one side of the stadium.
Hey Tom they opened up a Bob Chinn’s crab house in Downtown so you can 15 miles off the trip.
http://cityguide.aol.com/chicago/restaurants/bob-chinns-crab-house-chi cago/v-115807878.
Taking a couple of College buddies from UK to the Bears VS Miami game this weekend.
Go Big Blue!!!
October 31st, 2006 at 6:44 am
I think Chinn’s downtown closed. Not sure. Been there but not lately.
