That was truly a half hour of ESPNU worth watching for UK fans. Not only was the president’s and Coach Cal’s speeches a treat, but the ESPN analysts were nothing but praise for this program, these players and this coach. A great day to be a Cayt!
I try, I really do, but I just can’t help being sickened by seeing our wonderful guys up there with THAT politician. It completely robs me of my joy for them that instead of Reagan or even a halfway decent liberal like Carter, they get that guy. He will forever mar their photo and tarnish the memory of this year’s win.
That had to be the worst speech Obama has ever given, and that’s saying a lot. Very disappointing. It was the same old same old that we have been reading for months, except coming from a guy who couldn’t even read the cue cards very well. Ugh! Well, the good news is it will be a different guy giving the BBN that speech next spring, thank goodness.
Who was the audience, does anyone know? It sounded very pro UK and NOT a bunch of silly seat fillers.
Hey 4, Actually when they showed it live, they fans were doing the C-A-T-S chant very loud when the players were filing out. Awesome moment, but it didn’t show it on here.
(#8)Willy, you only have to watch me for four more ceremonies. Then I’m going to be President of UK. So you might want to move NOW to Tennessee or Alabama or Mississippi so you won’t be ‘marred’ and ‘tarnished’ like this team. You’ll fit in better in any of those places.
Wow, this video made me grin ear to ear the whole time! Put your politics aside and just appreciate all these young guys being so excited to meet the President of the United States and being talked about by name by him!
#8 – It is not the President that will tarnish this memory. It’s you. This is a time of celebration for this program and any True Blue Fan would understand that. Did you not hear Calipari saying how the guys wanted to meet Obama? This day wasn’t for you OR your joy. It’s about these players, the staff and the program in its entirety. Be respectful of that. If you want to rant about President Obama then get a blog.
all of the people on that stage today have more class and more accomplishments than all of the idiots who have posted racial comments combined. You boors not only diminish the capture of # 8, but the commonwealth of kentucky
There’s always a jackass or 2 that have to make a positive thread negative by putting there ignorance and misunderstandings on public display. BTW BLUE GETS IN, amyrite??!!
Are you kidding me Obama? Calipari would kick your ass in a heartbeat for President. WTF, why did we even go there? I know its great recognition for the team and thats great but, do you all know Obama has never visited the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Secondly, I love the way he accepted the ring. Just like a welfare checkcard recieved every week by people who dont work. What a joke. Go BBN, 819
Such a great thing for the Cats to visit the white house but seeing that fantastic memorable team next to the plague of the United States made me throw up.
35, Why respect the Presidency when he does absolutely nothing to respect the hard working people of the Commonweatlh or the US. I would never visit the Obama Presidential Library to see the ring or jersey because I know it was all paid for buy us. However, do we vacate the invitation to the White House? No, because BBN and Team and Cal is better than him. But it SUCKS.
18: Thank you! That video is much better! Shows how the stage was set (AD and Eloy off the platform on the floor) and shows the crowd, with better full shots of the team and coaches from different angles.
Im one of the biggest conservatives that you will find, but I am definitely happy for the players and Cal, this had to be a special moment for them to share together. By the way, how sweet is harrows flat top?
Man, this video was great. Obama probably didn’t write that speech but it was good. What a guy. Love this team. Don’t love all my fellow cats fans though. Some of you are just ignorant. Gobama. Conservative/racist/ignorant prudes.
Asshats !!! This is perhaps the greatest recruiting video ever made on behalf of UK and you ignorant racists want to make us look like cross burners . Guess what ??? W would not have spent 5 seconds on us . YOUR president just gave you a love letter and you are too stupid to accept it graciously . You want top recruits? They watched this . Lets hope they didn’t your @#$%
#34 why would you say Obama has never visited Kentucky? I work in downtown Louisville and remember very well when he came here in 2008. He was also in Northern Kentucky just in the past year concerning the bridges across the Ohio River. I also recall him making a stop in Kentucky a couple of years ago after giving a speech at Riverbend on Labor Day.
Gosh there are a bunch of a$$wipes on this site. This is such a great thing for UK and some of you make racist comments and/or turn it into a political stage. It was a great event for UK and, as others have said, as great recruiting event. #WeAreUK
Politics aside. This made me proud to watch. This is the office of the president of the USA. It don’t get any higher than this regardless of political affiliation. This wAs a great recruiting event. How about the stats espn put up at the beginning.

May 4th, 2012 at 7:24 pm
No “Go Big Blue” chant? I thought BBN was everywhere?!?! That said – that was awesome….
