Nerlens Noel has been putting in overtime since his commitment to Kentucky, using Twitter to help in the recruitment of fellow big man and 2012 prospect Anthony Bennett. Bennett’s list has been cut to four, but many have speculated that the race for his services will ultimately come down to Kentucky and Florida.
Nerlens Noel spoke to ESPN Radio earlier today and had this to say about the status of Anthony Bennett’s recruitment: “In my heart I feel like he’s liking Kentucky.”
I’d feel better if he felt it in his flat top/high top fade, but hopefully Noel’s instincts are correct as Anthony Bennett would be a perfect final addition to the already #1 ranked 2012 recruiting class for John Calipari.

Bennett, and/or his trusted advisors are simply playing it smart. Like most others, he only wants to play 1 year of college ball. While UK may be thebest program going, depending on it’s other recruits, it might not be the best for him and his goals.
So he waits, lets the courting game play out, and then will make his choice finally after all the cards are on the table. Nice thing for him is that he is good enough that he doesn’t need to worry about offers being withdrawn while he waits and watches. Talk about the “Catbird” seat!

I don’t know anything about Florida recruiting but Inwould be willing to be that know one at Florida is lobbying for BEnnett to come there like NErlens is for UK it has to make him feel wanted here.

I think Noel is just feeling the tip of the iceberg as far as the love coming from the BBN! If he thinks this is fun …. just wait til Big Blue Madness! It will be over the top!!!

Don’t look for Bennett to do anything soon. There are issues that aren’t public knowledge at this time and may not be resolved before the May 15th end of early signing period. Most likely will have to just verbally commit to a school and once he attends class on that first day, he will be bound to that program just as if a LOI was signed. That program will be Florida. Originally I thought the issue would be resolved by May 15th and he would sign his LOI with Florida but that isn’t the case at this point in time. Not that he doesn’t want this thing to be over, it just is out of his control at the moment. So don’t get your hopes up for him to be a wildcat and sign this coming week, it isn’t happening and he is going to be a Florida Gator when it is all said and done. Sorry to deliver the bad news folks but UK gets most of the kids they want, they just aren’t getting this one. Go Gators!

#16 You seem a little to confident because i dont count out Calipari on anyone especially Bennett. You hope he is going to be a gator but just like everyone else you dont know what you are talking about. You might want to get on Bennetts twitter and see what he is saying about wanting to win a National Championship and it wont be done at Florida and he knows that. Sorry for your lose but he will be a Wildcat when all is said and done.

And when he signs with UK, i’ll be happy to remind you. I happen to know Bennett is closer to signing with UK now than he has ever been, and he will not wait till the deadline to announce. A not so recent event between one of Donovan’s assistants and a close family member of Bennett’s, will soon be common knowledge and will explain (at least partly) why he will not be making the swamp his choice-other than the fact that he wants to win a NC. Sorry to burst your bubble, pal, but take that BS story someplace where it will actually be believed, rookie. Call me not impressed with your outdated info. He will be a Cat.

I just talked to Archie Goodwin down here at the Real Deal in the Rock, and he didn’t sound optimistic about Bennett. Apparently, he doesn’t have much contact with the other guys.

Where else but a kentucky board would a gator fan show up giving perfect description of Bennetts recruitment, albeit 2 or 3 weeks old, and a kentucky fan speak up and give the current equally perfect status of the recruitment. #OnlyWithUK

Place archie in the same category as gogaytor as far as being updated on Bennett, this is to give him the same connected-ness with a new teammmate that he felt with nerlens most recently and alex who was previously leaning vandy. When Bennett spurns the clear leader UF to go to kentucky, this teams chemistry and momentum will begin its ascent.

If you follow Bennett on Twitter, you should not be too optimistic about him. He has retweeted Gator fans and talks about seeing Gator fans. Never mentions BBN or UK at all.
