If you’re sitting at home on this gloomy and chilly Saturday afternoon in the Bluegrass, flip on the tube to catch your UK softball and UK baseball teams in action right now. The ladies are on ESPNU, fighting for a spot in the SEC tournament. The men are continuing their series with No. 1 LSU on Fox Sports South.
Down in Starkville, Mississippi, the Lady Cats got on the board first, with a run in the first inning; Brittany Cervantes hit a lead-off double, and scored a couple of batters later on a wild pitch. Reigning SEC pitcher of the week Lauren Cumbess missed a grand slam by mere inches, hooking wide of the foul pole.
The softball team is in a real barn burner, leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning.
The baseball game is just underway, and the boys are looking for a little payback from last night’s one-run loss. Jerad Grundy is on the hill for the Cats, facing a LSU lineup not known for their power.
The Tigers struck first, jumping out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Still lots of ball to be played.

softball loses in 8th on a throw from center that went to the the 1st base side and tag was 1/2 second late and state wins 2-1.

hey runner, see where you mentioned that it must be chilly up here in ky. around 50 degress in Lexington but some wind makes it cooler. Still not bad for what we are used to and what can happen in april.

Errors beat us yesterday and we lose by one run and then win going away today against the number one team in the nation. I guess UK Baseball is not a fluke. These guys are pretty darn good.

These players that they are interviewing are pretty impressive. They act like they have been doing TV interviews for years.
