Judgment Day Profile: Terrence Jones

by @ 2:00 pm. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

Today, we are previewing the decisions of all five of UK’s underclassmen who are set to announce this evening. Now, Terrence Jones…

NBADraft.net projection:

20th overall pick, Atlanta Hawks

Draft Express projection:

11th overall pick, Portland Trailblazers

ESPN Insider projection:

12th overall pick, Milwaukee Bucks

Why he should enter the NBA Draft:

He’s coming off a very strong finish to the season after his draft stock plummeted earlier in the year. The way he played in the tournament is fresh on scout’s minds and he should capitalize on that and keep it rolling through camps.

Why he should return to Kentucky:

He could still improve his stock by putting it all together and playing well for an entire season. A consistent junior season could mean another million or two per year in the league.

Chance of a return:

0.0000002%

KSR prediction:

Jones shocked us all by coming back to school for his sophomore season. He’s not doing it again.

Terrence, thanks for helping th Cats bring th championship back to it’s rightful home.

  2. UKFanInCincy Says:

So your saying there is a chance?!?!?!

  3. True Blue fan Says:

Thanks for killing the joke #1.

  4. MKG for supreme ruler of the universe. Says:

Thanks Terrence. You guys were epic.

  5. WhatSheOrder?FishFilet? Says:

If he rebounds like he did at the end of the year he’ll be a stud in the NBA

  6. UKALLDAY Says:

    #1, we got the memo.

  7. Burger Says:

Jones hasn’t shown that he is capable of putting it together a full season.

That’s why he’s not in the lottery.

Reality says he should be a top 5 pick in most classes, considering his athleticism, growth from Freshman to Sophmore seasons (sense of the flow of action – knowing when to drive, when to dish, when to take it to an opponent who’s in foul trouble, not whining internally or eternally as much about refs or missed shots).

so “if” he came back and proved the NBA scouts wrong and had a consistent Junior season, he’d be a top 5 easily. He’s a BAMF when in gear, and he showed us that he can get in that gear more in his Soph campaign than in his Jr).

  8. Ryan Says:

What is the point of all this? You’re going to say they are all going. You’ve already said it. Guess you just need filler for today.

  9. Southern Illinois Cat Fan Says:

The word “epic” makes my skin crawl every time I read it or hear it. The only people that use it are 18-19 year olds who still think that term is cool. Reality check, that went out 10 years ago. #Notepic

  10. Owensboro Cat Fan Says:

9.) you should make it your life’s goal to rid the world of the word “epic”. it seems like a good use of your time.

  11. Mama Lu Says:

Will ate all the hot sauce.

  12. Megan Says:

I don’t see why they would all announce together if they aren’t all doing the same thing and I don’t see them all staying. So I suppose they are all leaving. However my husband keeps saying maybe they are all staying and that is why the conference (he is optimistic to say the least). Pretty unlikely and the only reason I’m eager for this to happen is to just pull the band-aid off quickly. Pushing it back to 7 didn’t really help me much. Come on guys, tell us what we already mostly know. Or you could all stay and I would jump up and down and run around the neighborhood screaming. One of the 2 options there, please. Soon.

  13. Ridge Runner Says:

TJ…thx for everything but I am sure there are NBA teams wondering who you really are. At times, many of us asked that question in the last 2 years. So get it together consistently and good luck.

  14. Whiners will whine Says:

8 what is the point of your comment? if this is a filler not worthy of the time, why are you putting more time into commenting on it? what else do you want them to talk about today?

  15. Ridge Runner Says:

12…I think reality does say they are all gone. But we can be happy they were with us and unified even announcing together tonight while we hope to be surprised by 1 returning in the back of our minds.

  16. Ridge Runner Says:

    14…well said.

  17. Ryan Says:

14: Are you the internet police? Should I run stuff by you before posting it in the future. If so, just give me your info and I’ll be sure to do so.

  18. Ridge Runner Says:

17…But really isn’t what KSR doing today making sense? Each gets a spotlight before the big announcement tonight. I don’t see how you could look at it as a “filler” as well.

  19. help?!? Says:

any updates on this potential “source” mike pratt is quoting saying MKG and teague return?!?!?!?

  20. Ryan Says:

18: Just because it has been quite clear on this site that they expect every player to declare for the draft. Then they say “We’re going to give our predictions for each player throughout the day.” Just doesn’t seem to add anything, that’s all.

  21. Jimmy Says:

Searching for my lost shaker of salt…..

  22. gr8ness Says:

Good luck to these guys if they go. I want to think that they are all returning, that’s a gr8 feeling until the presser.

  23. bluefan Says:

Well #8, 17, I guess you’ll be happy soon, when all the posts are spring football, softball and baseball, etc. Good for you. The rest of us live for the basketball news.

  24. Old Guy in Lower Arena Says:

The only one that should come back is Lamb. Yes, he can shoot, yes he is a pretty decent defender…but there’s nothing THAT special about him that would put him in front of other guys. If he played more point next year, his stock would go up.

  25. Paratrooper Says:

did some research and found out Terrence is a liberal commie democrat. Good riddance! They should take down all the jerseys in Rupp that were worn by communists.

  26. Ridge Runner Says:

    25…dude you have serious issues.

  27. J-Huh Says:

Portland boy going back home?! That would be awesome.

#25, I heard Nerlens is a lifetime NRA member and will be a summer intern for McConnell!

  28. Asdfg Says:

    So you’re saying there’s a chance..?
