If this picture doesn’t make you smile, you have no heart.
We did it. We beat the Cards and on Monday, we’ll play for the National Championship. Relive last night’s game with these links:
- ESPN’s Jason King has a good recap of the game, which he says wasn’t the Cats’ best performance, but still enough to win.
- Gregg Doyel agrees, saying that the Cats “sucked,” but the fact that they found a way to win is why they deserve the title.
- The Boston Globe’s Bob Ryan says what we’ve always know: the Cats are a cut above the rest.
- Yahoo Sports’ Dan Wetzel has a wonderful profile of Davis, who may have looked like a superhero during the game, but apparently did the postgame interviews in one shoe and one flip flop.
- The normally quiet and humble Anthony Davis explains his “This is MY stage” comment, which took his coach and teammates off guard. It’s okay Anthony, beating Louisville will make you say things like that.
- Pat Forde says Monday’s game is another chance for Cal to avenge Memphis’ 2008 loss to Kansas in the National Championship.
- Larry Vaught writes about Terrence Jones’ late game heroics. Somehow, he works in a reference to Ashley Judd’s new show “Missing.” SMH…
- Eric Crawford has a little more about Pitino telling Cal to “bring the trophy home to Kentucky.”
- It may have been Anthony Davis’ night to shine, but John Clay says it was Darius Miller that stepped up when the Cards tied the score midway through the second half.
- Jeff Goodman echoes those sentiments with a nice profile of Miller, the last link to the Gillispie era on the squad.
We’ll be here all day, getting you ready for the National Championship game. God, it feels good to say that.

This is my stage!
April 1st, 2012 at 10:07 am
I believe he said “This is My State” and pretty sure he clarified that in the press conference. Am I right or wrong?
April 1st, 2012 at 10:08 am
Where is the article full of crow from Bill Platzke?
April 1st, 2012 at 10:09 am
#2 wrong, stage. I love that Calipari called him a goofball. Its a wonderful feeling right now, I cant wait until tomorrow. Go Cats.
By the way Tyler, I have already read all these stories before you put these Links up but thanks!

Ug, ESPN is the worst. Apparently Davis pounded his chest yelling “this is my state” after the game, but ESPN is reporting: “This is my s—,” he said. “This is my s—.”
Really? Making the most humble kid probably to ever win the major PoY awards sound like a pottymouthed egomaniac when he was just saying KY belongs to UK? Lame, worldwide leader. Lame.
April 1st, 2012 at 10:12 am
Tyler did you even read the article? First he made it appear that AD said “THis is my $hit” instead of “This is my stage”. He downplayed ULs accomplishments to the point it became a “We’re just glad to be here” attitude and to top it all off he is a KU homer. Read his bio, he has written two books on KU basketball. Geez do something besides cut and paste.

I am all for Good sportsmanship and being proud of your state, blah, blah, blah. However, no true Louisville fan is rooting for UK, just like no true UK fan would have been rooting for UL.

I was referring to the Jason King article. I’m not going to bother to read the rest.

Just watched again on sportscenter. I thought he said state in the press conference last night but he definitely said stage.

6 – Hey Carl, back off my woman.
Great job Miss TT.

Well Cal did say they needed to start touching each other.

It is his stage… (and all the other Cats for that matter). They work their a$$es off and now it’s time to reap the rewards. It may have been the first time some attention they give themselves publicly (since most of them it will be there last game tomorrow).
Don’t read too much into it. And on that note, for a team that expected to win the title, I wish that fans would act like it and not vandalize your own city. SMH people… please act like adults. I’m all excited that it may end our drought of 14 years… but come on!

Real fan post from a Tard fan…”UK fans are in denial about being everything that is wrong with college basketball. Your program is a JOKE to me and I laugh at you clowns. Call me a traditionalist but I enjoy real college basketball teams with kids that stay multiple years. I enjoy the up’s and down’s, watching kids fail then succeed. To each their own but there is no denial here, I’d take Louisville Basketball over UK NBA every day of the week and twice on Sunday.”

14, The last time IU went to the final four, Bloomington torched one of those fold out chairs you take to soccer games and turned over an American Flyer wagon.
April 1st, 2012 at 10:50 am
15, if that doesn’t sound like sour grapes to me, then I’ve been out of touch way too long
April 1st, 2012 at 10:50 am
That’s right I forgot that Loserville didn’t recruit any of our players that might be gone after this year. I also forgot that they put out a press release saying that they wouldn’t take any players that wouldn’t be staying in college for four years. I also forgot that they said it a player was able to get extra years of playing time by the NCAA due to past circumstances that they would keep that player forever and not require them to go somewhere else. I forgot all this about how they don’t want talent and only want multiple year students. WHATEVER! if any of UK players had chosed Loserville they would have taken them for as much or as little as they could get from them.

Watch the pregame during the National Anthem. One team is talking to each other, and one is being respectful.
April 1st, 2012 at 10:54 am
18…I have recruited and signed one and done players. Problem is, I turn them into 4 and none.

i have no heart

I think Tyler can take up for herself. If you are going to post in public you gotta be able to take the heat. JK’s article and his agenda are lame he doesn’t need to be linked on KSR.
April 1st, 2012 at 11:23 am
Screw any media that needs to try and take something and turn it negative on this team. There was a UL fan on Fox news last night that complained saying it was 8 on 5. Was he watching the same game. UL should be an acting school. Where are all the UL fans this morning. Cant wait to hear the sports radio shows monday

He said State!
April 1st, 2012 at 12:03 pm
what Goodman did not point out is that if Clyde had not come to UK, Miller would probably gone to Illinois or someplace beside UK. He would have never gone to UK where he wanted to be if Tubby was still there. And, as glad as I am that the Clyde nightmare only lasted two years, part of the blame to the dismal era can also be laid at the feet of Tubby for leaving the program in shambles with kid that were picking UK over American and Fairfield…Really?
April 1st, 2012 at 12:15 pm
…or turning down uk to go to junior college!
Life is good now.
