Kentucky fans are a loyal bunch, but some aren’t shy about trying to cash in and make a few bucks off of their fellow fan. We saw it when the Anthony Davis posters were handed out at Rupp Arena and almost immediately turned up online for $150 apiece. Some fans were unhappy about the turn of events and some happily turned to PayPal. It’s a big diverse blue nation and there’s something for everyone, as one quick trip over to eBay proved today.
Below are some of the UK treasures of eBay….
The Unablocker shirt ($19.99)
You’ve searched the KSR Shop from top to bottom for the perfect shirt. You want something that lets the world know you’re a Cats fan, but also leaves them wondering if you’re watching them shower too. Enter The Unablocker shirt. The blue cotton blend allows for minimal signs of dirt, giving you more wears per wash, and the screen print graphic gives you just the right amount of plausible deniability with Sandy Bell.
“Big Tony’s Block Party” shirt ($17.99)
It’s made of 100% cotton and 100% embarrassment. That’s 200%. Just like Big Tony.
Terrence Jones Calgary Stampeders card ($1.00)
Honestly, this is a hell of a deal.
Anthony Davis signed floorboard ($124.99)
It’s an awfully expensive way to update the flooring in your family room, but the sticker more than makes up for it. You’re also probably asking yourself why someone would want Anthony Davis’ autograph on a random piece of wood laminate. And we’re all laughing at you because you don’t know how impossible it is to sign carpet squares! Dummy.
John Calipari Pocketknife ($29.50)
This knife has a marble handle enscribed with “John Calipari”, making it the perfect gift for anyone buying a gift for someone named John Calipari. It is made in China, which may or may not be a Bluegrass Tradition, and can be used to cut up your neighbor’s kitchen floor for those Anthony Davis autograph opportunities.
John Calipari’s High School Yearbook ($89.99)
Let’s think about this. The person selling this yearbook has not only deemed it disposable, they’ve deemed it disposable despite being included inside of it. And they want you to pay almost $100 to guarantee you get it.
I’m thinking the same thing. Race you to the “Buy It Now” button!
Doron Lamb signed floorboard ($24.99)
Doron Lamb doesn’t even know his own jersey number.

SHABAZZ article is nothing more than a make up article for the UCLA article that was published. Cal will likely back off, and he’ll end up at UCLA and face no penalty. The NCAA screws UK all the time, it’s their way of saying, YOU can’t have him. But anywhere else, he’ll play. I mean look at the Enes situation. At ANY other school, he would have been ruled eligible.

Isn’t it illegal to sell stuff with college athlete signatures on it?
Wasn’t that the problem with the suit shop down in Alabama?
Just asking…

Unrelated, but conversations on Cal’s chances at the coach of the year awards got me thinking about how much talent he has on his team vs. other coaches. Below are the numbers of McDonald’s All Americans on UNC, Dook, and UK this year. I also noted the number of NBA draftees and transfers who would be there. Note John Wall wasn’t a McDAA because he repeated a year of HS. If anything, I think Roy should be discounted for COY awards. More “talent” than Calipari the past couple years(based on expectations, not results, obviously) and what to show for it? He has more top players on his team every year than Cal, but they don’t live up to their potential as often because Roy is not that great a coach. If anyone, he’s the coach people should be complaining about “just rolling the ball out.” Experienced talent is only useful if it’s well-coached; Roy’s championships mean he can win, but you would never see Cal have eight losses with as much talent as Roy had last year. Note that we had three McDAAs last year and split games with their seven.
2011:
duke – 5 (2 NBA)
Rivers
Cook
Plumlees (2)
Kelly
unc – 7 (3 transfers, 1 NBA)
McAdoo
Hairston
Barnes
Bullock
Marshall
Henson
Zeller
UK – 6 (2 NBA)
Davis
Gilchrist
Teague
Wiltjer
Jones
Lamb

I bet Lamb signed the floorboard while he was in high school, he wore #1 for Oak Hill.
