Nerlens Noel is back home getting ready for his third meeting with Mitch McGary and Brewster Academy, but before he switched his focus to tonight’s game, he updated his blog on ESPN.com. In his new entry, Noel said he was very impressed by Kentucky’s fans — he counted how many times his name was chanted in Rupp Arena — and he loves the way John Calipari coaches his team in practice and in games. He also mentioned how Calipari and Boeheim use two completely different approaches in their recruiting: Cal tells you everything and Boeheim is more laid back.
The visit to Lexington over the weekend is the last unofficial he’ll take, and he’ll begin his official visits once the paperwork clears from his reclassification. He plans to visit Florida, North Carolina, and Georgetown, and he’ll also visit UConn and Providence because they’re close by.
Noel told Scout.com’s Evan Daniels that he still doesn’t have a favorite at this point. Kentucky is selling him on Anthony Davis’ success, so I find that hard to believe. One look at what Davis is doing in college basketball right now and Noel would be out of his mind to go elsewhere.
Cats.

Pretty cool article I found on SI about Jeff and Marquis Teague. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/lee_jenkins/02/17/jeff.marquis.teague/index.html?eref=sihp&sct=hp_wr_a5

But how could he have liked the fans and atmosphere when so many geniuses online say Rupp is too quiet?
I like our chances with Noel right now. Just the way he described them, it seems like Boeheim will expect him to just become another Syracuse player in the Zone whereas Cal tells him exactly how he can play here.

WE WANT NERLENS ! CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP !
Why would he even think about going to UCONN ?! They can’t play in the tourney next year…

An automatic NCAA investigation should be triggered whenever one of the players Cal is recruiting chooses to play at another school (unless that school is in his hometown or his father is the coach). Either that recruit (or his parents) got a ton of money from the other school or they’re holding one of his loved ones hostage.

Big Cats fan, but don’t say things like “He would be out of his mind to go elsewhere.” He would not be out of his mind to go to Syracuse, North Carolina or Florida.
UConn and Providence, yes.

Best part of the Nerlens Noel blog is the comments about Duke.
I talked to him twice after that, but I ended up telling them that I wasn’t interested in Duke. I like Coach K, but I just didn’t have any interest in them.

Evan Daniels thinks he is going to Syracuse.

After reading his comments he sounds like he is Kentucky’s to lose. I just hope the NCAA doesn’t come after us for the fans chanting his name. Yes I know Syracuse fans did it too, but remember the NCAA doesn’t have the resources to go after everyone who violates the rules.

He will be a WILDCAT!! GO CATS!!
February 20th, 2012 at 12:03 pm
sounds like he is still a ways off of choosing a school!

Noel to Syracuse, Shabazz to ULCA. I still think Cal can put together a nice class if he adds Bennett and another quality player. Without Noel, Cauley will have to take on a much bigger role.

Meant to say UCLA, sorry…

#16. 1st off its no way he goes to Syracuse. They already have Fab Melo who will be there next year & then DeJuan Coleman. And I am happy to get Cauley next year, but he is raw and can defend a little but is nowhere near Noel at this point. Cauley is athletic for a 7 footer but will take a while b4 he can become a star.

I watched Sports Center at 10:30 Sat night and Darius was #4 on the top 10. Was I mistaken or sleeping? Plus I think any of the great players out there that doesn’t come to Kentucky is crazy. This is a UK fan site, so if I want to expect us to get the best I can. We Are UK so we deserve the best.
February 20th, 2012 at 1:26 pm
12) It’s not a rules violation for fans to chant a name. Schools just can’t organize it. Tipton tricked a lot of UK fans for a long time by making the claim that it was.

Anthony Davis goes #1 in the NBA Draft, Nerlens Noel fills that void…Michael Kidd-Gilchrist goes #4 in the NBA Draft, Shabazz Mahammed fills that void…BB Wildcat Basketball keeps on rolling. Just seems logical to me. And it Make Good Business sense for these young men. Gallery721.com

I like that he can multi-task. And everyone thought he just cared about texting…pfft.

18) Melo is going pro. He is also projected as a top 15 to 20 pik. Try to keep up.

Sounds like he had a good visit. Get em’ Cal…….Like ALWAYS!!!!
